I realized most acne products that work for me uses salicylic acid ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salicylic_acid ). It's also known as beta hydroxy and is found in willow bark (which is the main ingredient in aspirin). A little research and I found that you melt three aspirin in warm water and add a little honey (a natural antibiotic) and you have a 2 - 3 time per week face mask. Put it on your clean face, let it sit 5 - 10 minutes and rinse off. The Bert's Bee's version of this costs well over $10 and a bottle of aspirin is $3 - 6.
I purchase the rest of my skin care products through LUSH. Tea Tree Oil toner and moisturizer. It's important to moisturize to keep the skin fresh.
The only thing I use is a face wash by Desert Essence that is made with tea tree oil. I don't use moisturizers, toners, makeup or other products. But I do love this cleanser and it has been the only one I've used for the better part of 6 years now. I buy it at Trader Joe's and at Whole Foods.
I haven't tried it yet, but there's a new line called Bubble & Bee that I'm looking forward to trying. I read that they have natural deodorants and if one doesn't work for you they'll send you a different one. If that doesn't work, they'll send you another one and so on. That's really good customer service!
When you do what you've always done, you get what you've always got.
The company I've been using for skin care (face) has gone out of business and I'm finding myself in the inconvenient and slightly panicked place of having to find a new skin care line. I figured this might be a good time to find natural products that work.
Do you have a skin care regime? If so, what products do you use?
