Relives bug bites, clears up rashes, helps heal burns. It's a laxative. It relieves heartburn. Check it out on the internet. It's used for lots of different things.

It has been a long time since I had an aloe plant.
I know it worked for burns.
What else do you use it for?

You can put the aloe in wet hair, but I find the most effective timing is when your hair is just slightly damp. I focus on the bottom third of my hair as that is where my 'static-y' happens. Hope this helps!

If you're just looking to weight your hair down a bit, rubbing your fingers through your hair after you've put lotion on them can be really helpful.

Awesome! Thanks for the suggestions. I make my own aloe gel, actually. Do you put it in while it's wet?

I have the same problem this time of year and I use aloe gel. It helps to moisturize your hair and the one I use smells wonderful. I do warn if you try aloe use the clear variety because the colored stuff can make your hair look a little unusual. And if this trick doesn't work for you, you're all ready for summer.

lemon juice. If you do have some kind of reusable spray bottle then mix up lemon juice and water. I think it's about a 1:1 ratio. Side affect, it can sunbleach your hair at the same time.

Regarding hair that is static-y and in your face. If you just barely touch vaseline with one finger. Rub that finger in the palm of your other hand. I know you don't see anything. It is just barely noticeable to feel. Now rub your 2 hands together and smooth over your hair. It doesn't have to be down to the roots, you can smooth your hair a couple of inches from the root. Allot of hair products have petroleum based ingredients. This option has no alcohol or fluorocarbons. emoticon

Does anyone have any suggestions for a greener alternative to hairspray? I like to leave my hair down once in a while but after about three hours it gets static-y and in my face and drives me nuts! Pump hairsprays are always in plastic, and aerosol hairsprays speak for themselves, and pretty well any hairsprays have harmful chemicals. Any natural alternative suggestions?
