I'm currently taking a course called "living green" in my college program.
I thought it was really cool to hear you can clean things with baking soda, lemon juice, vinegar, tea tree oil etc.
our last lesson topic was about green washing and how to identify it

TV told me that if you put a little lemon juice in a bowl and microwave it the yuck crust stuck in the microwave will wipe right off. You know what? Tv was right! THAT was fantastic. Next I'm going to try a little lemon juice in the shower...cut through the soap scum AND make the shower smell nice. emoticon

I also use melaleuca products. I have found them to be extremely environmentally friendly and inexpensive. You can email me for more information.

A great floor wax recipe:
Equal parts vinegar and mineral oil mixed together. Then apply to the floor with a clean mop. (I keep a mop dedicated solely for this purpose!)

A little peroxide on an old toothbrush also helps with mildew.

I use a vapor cleaner. It uses only tap water and a towel. Not only does it kill mold, mildew, bacteria and viruses, it leaves things sparkly clean like they were new. I love it!

I know I've been putting off cleaning the bathroom because I haven't fully switched to green cleaners. Anyone know what to use on a stubborn mildew in the shower?
