I was just diagnosed but had a terrible time getting pregnant and when I succeeded getting pregnant I would have a miscarriage. I was told it was due to being so overweight. Now I know it was due to PCOS. I finally was able to get pregnant but carry him full term and I have a wonderful 3 year old son. So as POPA25 stated it's not impossible.

I was told that I was unable to have childern also. Its heartbreaking, but for the most part a very untrue statement! I have a gorgeous 2 year old son! He was a mighty big blessed surprise! When I conceived I hadn't had a menstrual cycle in over a year. I had used meformin before and had no results. I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was 13 weeks along. It was a complete shock, I actually cried because I felt like someone was playing a very mean joke on me. I have told all of my new doctors that I was told I wasn't able to conceive because of the PCOS... they ALL smiled and shook their heads. They said its not impossible but it can be very difficult. WELL THATS TOTALLY DIFFERENT TO ME! Sometimes we don't know when we are ovulating like a woman with a normal menstrual cycle and it can be hard to catch it just right, but so not impossible! For any of you that are struggling with getting pregnant, I think the best thing is to concentrate on your healthy lifestyle, try to lose, it can lessen and even rid you of your PCOS, I know that it is so hard to lose weight, but again its not impossible!!!!! GOD BLESS & GOOD LUCK!

Good luck to you. I'm in the same boat. I have been trying, on and off, for six years without getting pregnant. It's frustrating, but I am convinced that we can help ourselves a lot by taking care of our bodies. :-)

i have PCOS and no children since i am a church girl and i am waiting for marriage. However, i have a friend that tried for 10 years, and no child. Nothing worked, then she lost 40 lbs and her son now is two yrs old and just the healthiest. Medication works so much faster after weightloss..I wish you the BEST..keep in touch!
It only took losing 20 pounds for clomid to start working for me so it doesn't take much. My doctor didn't even think it would work with just losing the 20 lbs but we tried anyway and it wasn't even the highest dose of clomid. We did two cycles before I had to take an unwanted break... I plan on TTC again in jan/feb and hopefully weigh even less than what I did when it worked. Way to go taking that first step
Pounds lost: 6.8

I WAS DIAGNOSED IN 2009 WITH PCOS. I NEVER HEARD OF IT BEFORE THEN. A DOCTOR TOLD ME THAT I WOULDNT BE ABLE TO HAVE KIDS BUT I HAD A 6 YR OLD AT THE TIME. SO I WENT TO SEE ANOTHER DOCTOR THAT TOLD ME I NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT IN ORDER TO CONTROL IT AND SHE PUT ME ON METFORMIN 500 ONCE A DAY. FOR A YEAR I WENT UP AND DOWN IN WEIGHT NOW IM AT MY ALL TIME HIGH. I WANT TO HAVE ANOTHER CHILD BUT IT SEEMED IMPOSSIBLE. I HAVE TRIED CLOMID AND IT DIDNT WORK SO NOW I HAVE TO FACE FACTS AND I TOLD MYSELF I NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT SO THATS WHY IM HERE. IM GLAD TO HAVE FOUND OTHERS THAT CAN RELATE TO ME SINCE NO ONE I KNOW EVEN HEARD OF IT BEFORE.
