My nutritionist put me on a guideline of 15-30 for snacks and 30-45 for meals. i am so carb scared (many years of doctors telling me no carbs) that the thought of 45 for a meal freaked me out. The point, she said, is to keep the ocean calm and not wavy. When we eat meals with high carbs and then another with no carbs, we're doing more harm to our body than if we were going extreme of too little or too much all together. Steady and calm is her suggestion.

Hi guys! :) Been away for awhile, and I'm easing back in so as not to get overwhelmed. I have a question.
I was talking to my mom today about meal planning and re-creating my eating habits. I'm at a loss when it comes to "carbs." I know I can't cut them out completely, but I'm not sure what the guidelines really are in terms of what/how much/how often. I know about "white" carbs vs. whole grains, but again - how much and how often?
