I found it a bit painful, but not too bad. I was told to take 3 advil about an hour before going. That helped a lot. I hope it goes smoothly!

I had it done afew years ago and did not find it painful at all after. I did find the procdure a bit uncomfortable only because they kept having me move all over with the seculum in. Dont worry :)

Ok thanks. That's what I thought it was. I guess I could have researched it on google to confirm. Sorry. Yes I had that before my surgery for endo. My doctor had me take a few over the counter pain pills and advised that someone came with me. I had very pains during and after the procedure. One of my tubes were blocked and it hurt pretty bad. Not to where I couldn't handle it but it was very uncomfortable. I also spotted a few days after.

HSG is a procedure where they put dye up in your uterus and ovaries to take an x-ray of them to see if your ovaries are blocked and the shape of your uterus. Im getting one because I havent gotten pregnant even when I took clomid.

I had this done about 5 ago. It was painful but not terribly so for me. My Dr. had suggested taking 800 mg of Motrin a couple hours ahead of time so I'm sure that helped some. If your Dr. didn't suggest that, I would ask about it. It felt that an increasingly bad menstural cramp that for me disappeared shortly after having the test done. I went by myself and had a nurse there to hold my hand (literally), but the girl who had it done before me had brought her husband for support. Hope it all goes well for you.
