It is insanely expensive, but Yasmin is the only thing that worked for me. When I was in college I did not have insurance and I actually ordered it in bulk online from some website. It ended up being 24-27 a box. One time I ordered it from a Thai company so the box had a lot of writing I couldn't read, but it did say Yasmin and the ingredients were correct. You just fax them your perscription and they'll send it to you. I don't remember the websites(its been 2 years) but its worth checking out.
I have been on the patch, yaz, and the nuvaring all of which have been painfully expensive and none of which have helped regulate my period or the pain associated with it. I believe that all of these are too new to have generics out yet and thus the high price. I would say if you can find something else that works for you to give that a try. Another place to look is at planned parenthood they sometimes can help out with the cost by giving samples. Good luck

I take yasmin as well, and unfortunately, it is just expensive. My copay w/insurance is $30, and I think it actually runs about 65-75 w/out insurance. It's one of those "non-formulary" drugs that is covered, but at the highest copay possible. I would switch, but it's the only one that works well for me, and that doesn't make me feel like crap. So, I just have to suck it up and pay the money for it. Unfortunately, I got laid off from my job last Friday, and I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to have insurance, so I may end up paying full price for them here before long.

Did you already pay your deductible for the year? Did you ask the pharmacy if they put it through your insurance? if they denied it, why? I'd start with your pharmacy and if need be contact your insurance. Good luck!
So I just picked up Yasmin which I'll be starting, and what I was wondering is, why is it so expensive? It was 40 bucks for one month (with insurance... who knows what they covered). This is horrible! I'm in college and got OCPs just because I'm going to be going out of the country for a year to study abroad, and now I'm worried I'm not going to be able to afford it!
Is this cost normal for OCPs?
I'm going to see if I can do it through mail-order 3 month to see if it will be less, but I'm in college, and work a part-time job for not much, and with the cost of gas, I barely have spending money as it is!
