Bump.

I've only recently been (finally) diagnosed with PCOS, so I am only just now starting to get medications lined up. I was just prescribed Yaz a week ago and phentermine about two months ago for weight loss. I have been looking into inositol, and I found some on Amazon for under $15 for about a six month supply (according to the serving size on the bottle). The reviews were really positive and a lot of women who were taking it for PCOS symptoms talked about cycle regulation, a better general disposition, and weight loss. I figure there's not much to lose considering the cost...

So... Has anyone here tried it yet? Any positive results? I'm going to try to remember to post an update after a month or so, but since I just started taking the other medications, my experience won't be able to be based on the inositol alone. I'm hoping for energy, mood enhancement, anti-anxiety, and additional weight loss assistance. Fingers crossed!

I'm interested in anyone's opinion on this too. I read good things about this and got some from vitamin shoppe today. I read that taken in conjunction with folic acid it helps a lot. Since it is natural and the only thing I am currently on is birth control and lexapro I thought I would try this instead of taking to my doctor about getting on metformin. I would love to hear about anyone's experience with it.

Haha, well we've tried 50mg and 100mg, and my doc said that 150mg is as high as she can go, and if this still doesn't work she'll have to refer to me a reproductive specialist. Hoping that losing weight (finally!!) will help the Clomid work...

I did leave a message with my dr's office asking about Inositol - if she'd heard anything about it, what she thinks, if it's OK for me to take along with Clomid and Wellbutrin... Hoping she gives me the green light to give it a go, becuse every little bit helps. :)

I hope the Clomid works for you. They'll raise it several times, if it doesn't work at 150 mg they'll raise it to 200mg. The only thing they told me when I took it was that it would make me moody. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it works for you!!!!!

Just stumbled across a mention of Inositol going through a link to a link someone posted in a thread. Is anyone taking this? Has anyone tried? What sort of results did you see?

My doc started me on Atkins 3 weeks ago (12 lbs down so far, woo! but a long way to go) and I'm on Wellbutrin for depression and Clomiphene to attempt to make me ovulate. We just upped my dosage of Clomiphene/Clomid to 150mg, because 100mg wasn't really working for me. I'm PRAYING that the weight loss and upped dosage of fertility drugs does the trick, but the more I read about this Inositol the more I think I need to talk to my doctor about it and get started on it. Sounds like it's really a miracle, helping with ovulation and egg maturation, as well as depression, anxiety, and OCD (all of which I suffer from, in varying degrees...)

Was wondering if anyone had any personal experience with it here. :)
