My doc has me taking the pills 3 times a day (morning, early afternoon, and night) to insure a constant level of the medication in my body.

I can totally relate to the feeling different - I can actually notice a difference in my body if I miss a pill. I feel as if my body is working better, maybe even right, now that I'm on the medication. Before, I felt sluggish pretty much all the time but especially in the early to mid afternoon. Now that sluggish feeling is pretty gone all day long. I don't know if that's the insulin resistance or if it has to do with my cycles not lasting 4+ months or what, but either way, I'm good with it.

I will be on the 1500 soon.......doing 1K of metformin now...and I have noticed that I don't have either the D or the C so much.....I actually feel different. I take my pills after dinner...that way there is something on my stomach when I take them. The only pill I take on an empty stomach is my ferrous sulfate....

I'm on 1500 mg of metformin. The only problem I've had from time to time is diarrhea, never constipation - which for me is great because I used to struggle with constipation a lot.

My biggest recommendations with metformin is to take it with food, or just before eating (like 10 minutes before, not 30). And to STAY HYDRATED! They're not kidding when the pamphlet says to drink plenty of water while on this medication. I'm 250lbs, and for me that means at least 10 cups of water at least, because the 8 cups for more than one day at a time isn't enough.

Here is what my story is:

I started for a month on metformin back in April at 250mg, I had one tummy upset the second day on it. After that everything was fine. I lost 16lbs. I moved up to 500mg and o my, I could not pull myself out of bed on the 3rd day of it and I was constipated bad. So my thing is maybe I only need the 250mg I felt great no sugar cravings, I ate half of my food.

Now I have used Cinnamon w/ Chromium I never noticed a whole lot, and maybe becuase I started at 1 pill a day being like 500mg instead of 1,000 so what have you all used to help with using met or the supplements.

1st goal 26lbs (239)
2nd goal 23 lbs (216)
3rd goal 21 lbs (195)
4th goal 19lbs (175)
5th goal 171bs (158)
LAST GOAL 15 lbs (143)
