Wow that sounds like a great doctor to go to, I'm sorry that you won't get that experience. I hope you find someone just as good to help you. I am definitely going to check a repro endo because I do want to have children in the near future, so I may as well knock two birds out with one stone. Good luck Horizonchild!

It was just recommended to me to see a repro endo for my PCOS. I looked up a few in the Boston area, and found some that specialize in PCOS. One says they have state of the art equipment and do complete workups, including blood labs, tests, and have a team of people including a nutritionist and acupuncturist. I loved what was said on their site, but I called and they do not take my insurance :-(

Depends on if you are looking to have a child any time soon if so a reproductive endo might be your best bet other wise a regular endo can take care of everything in general that is related to diabetes (most don't deal with pcos directly)

I personally see a regular endo. He did go by the blood work my primary did the first time, but after 90 days, he took his own tests again.
He is trying to regulate all my hormones, not just my reproductive ones and I have to go every 90 days for more blood work to see if what he is doing is working. He is very nice and very helpful.
I could recommend some if you were in Texas, but unfortunately I don't know anyone that is using on one in NYC at this time.

Hi all! I have a question about endocrinologists. Should I be going to a regular endo or a reproductive endo? I met with a regular endo once before but I didn't have any blood work and she didn't do any with me since I was waiting for my blood work from my primary. I am looking for someone that will jump right into it with me and I really don't know where to start. And if you know a good endo in the NYC area please pass their information along. Thanks! emoticon
