I haven't had any luck with my hair with biotin. I used to have tons. now I have less than a quarter as much as I used to. BUT, I haven't been able to loose weight so that could be my problem.
I take biotin to help my nails. they were splitting lengthwise and that's stopped now so I continue taking it. I take 4,000 mg a day, spaced out over the day. I think. the larger caps at walmart. four a day. that's less than the upper limit recommended by Dr. Mercola (I think it was him).

I have been dealing with thinning hair for the past year. I used to have more hair than anyone would want and it now is a shadow of its former lovely, curly glory. I now have a cap of shorter, curly hair that is new growth that halos my head and makes me look frizzy most of the time but I am so glad to see it back that I really don't care. I will put up with it. I had lost a significant amt of weight last year, most of which I gained back and I do not really know if it helped or not, hard to say. I would at the very least speak with my Dr. about it. If you have not had your thyroid checked they may want to do so.

I'm 19 and my hair has been thinning. I think it's more noticeable because it's long and I've heard it's better if it's cut short. Anyways, my question is: Has anyone suffered from hair loss and were you able to regrow it? I don't want to use medications because I'm scared of the side effects. Will proper exercise and diet help? I've also heard that biotin is good to take because it's good for hair,skin, and nails. Has anyone taken it and seen results? How much intake should i take? I'm also taking One-a-Day Women Multivitamin so hopefully that helps me.
