I too cut out cow's milk. Working with a nutritionist, you does not recommend soy milk or soy products as they can alter hormone balances. Instead she recommends coconut milk or almond milk. I don't mind the coconut milk and have the coconut milk cream in my coffee. It even comes flavored. And NO, it doesn't taste like coconut.

If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will get results.

Cutting out cows milk really helped my sinuses and my acne. It doesn't hurt anything to try two weeks without milk products and sees if it helps you too.

That is awesome that you have also found that cutting out milk works! I understand it wont work for everyone, but I definitely encourage people to figure out what it is that their body may be rejecting.

Best wishes!!

Cutting out dairy is also good for people with sinus problems.

I cut out dairy this year and switched to soy and my skin has cleared up about 90%, what I have left isn't so bad.

That is very exciting! I was tested for the milk allergy and I am fine, but it good to know. I WISH my skin would clear up.
What was the diet that you did? I have been doing a general, high veggie, no calorie, no bread type carb thing.

Everyone has what will work for them when it comes to PCOS, its good that you found what has helped you.

I found what worked for me, and its not cutting milk from my deal (cutting soy yes - but that is a nightmare to cut since its in oh o so many blasted items [got to love a soy allergy on top of a nut allergy]).

This is kind of amazing.

I don't know if this will work for anyone else, but I went to a nutritionist and took a blood test and found out I am allergic to milk products (casin the protein, not lactose). Apparently a LOT of people are allergic to milk (70% of people are unable to process it correctly after 4 yr old). I have gone 25 years eating cheese and ice cream and milk - and my PCOS has gotten progressively worse lately. All these milk products also have a lot of fat and calories, even skim isnt great.

My acne went away within a week. NO KIDDING. I am off of the 3 acne medicines I was taking from my dermatologist. There is a lot of scientific info behind this, so I suggest you google Milk + Acne together.

I lost 10-15 LBs in the past 2 months by cutting out all dairy. If you are going to cut out dairy it really isnt that hard and there are yummy alternatives (almond milk in your pancakes!)

I also started a new 30 Day program to really kick myself into gear, and I lost 7 LBs this week from the program (it is an overall organic weight loss program).

So, I am very happy and wanted to share. Reducing weight is the best way to reduce PCOS but it seems like you are stuck in a rut when you need to lose weight to make the symptoms better, but you cant lose weight because of the symptoms.

I am open for questions!
