My daughter had an ultrasound & the doctor said she had cycst on BOTH ovaries. When she had my grandson via c-section she was told she only had one ovary. POOF! One disappeared!

Poof! just disapeared. Weird. A few years ago when I was pregnant I had to go to a bigger hospital for a 3D ultrasound. One of the techs said then, "look at left ovary! Huh. Well, we are not here for that - we'll deal with it later" I was not diagnosed with PCOS at that time.

SILLY SIDE NOTE HERE: Last time I had an ultrasound-they couldn't FIND my left ovary!! Even with the "fun" internal device..! Where is my left ovary? Has anyone ever had this happen? I asked, and they said..I quote-- "ARE YOU SURE YOU HAD ONE?" and then shrugged. That is the end of my silly story..we never found it..or got a better answer. :o) Chris

Well, left ovary has one large cyst and several small ones. Right ovary has the small ones. I go back in 3 months to monitor the large one. She mentioned the spiro, If the hair growth does not get better by the time I go back, I'll consider it.

I have been on the Spironolactone for years. It does help some with the hair growth. Once in a while I will have a stray hair or two to pluck. At Wal Mart they have it on the list for $4 -- I have to pay $8 due to being on a bit higher dose than on their list. Good luck with your ultrasound. I have have also had many abnormal paps.

Thanks for all the well wishes, I am sure I'll feel much better tomorow.
The first thing I do when I get up in the morning is grab the tweezers and start plucking! My OB/Gyn mentioned a pill that helps with the hair growth but i can't remember what it was called. I am already on so many medications, I didn't really want to add another.

I had a funny pap last year too! But then, all the follow-ups have been normal. I pluck my hairs with a tweezer, every couple days I'll just pluck everything I see, it's not the best method, but it's simple and inexpensive.

My thoughts are with you. About every three years I get a questionable pap. It has always come back ok. I am not sure if it is because of the PCOS. Do you have the excessive hair growth? I have some on my chin and am looking for ideas to keep it under control. I have done the waxing and the creams.. I wish our health insurance would cover laser hair removal.. Ha ha

I have an ultrasound of my ovaries scheduled for tomorow and I am anxious - not the same kind of anxious as when I had ultrasounds of my babies! I am esp. anxious b/c I had a physical last month and the Dr. called back and said i had "abnormal cells" on my cervix. She will be checking that too.
