Yep, I am familiar with this feeling, too! It must be because we all have cysts on our ovaries. Even my doctor said she didn't think my ovaries looked "that bad." And yes, it does feel like someone is kicking me -- sometimes it even feels like when I was pregnant and my daughter actually was kicking me!
If anyone has had a diagnosis or even better, a remedy that works -- let us know!
Thank you so much for the feedback... like you said Xandermom, its nice to know I'm not crazy.
Also, I had to laugh cause I tell my husband the same thing as far as the pain I feel. Its like if someone was squeezing his "family jewels" LOL!
I'm so glad others have this problem too...okay not glad in the way others are in pain, but glad I'm not as crazy as my doctor says I am!
Before I got the wonderful doctor I'm with now, I had a male one, and the way I could express the level of the pain to him was that someone was kicking you in the naughty region, but from the inside. He always laughed, but I was serious!
I get this same pain before and during my periods. It is so bad that sometimes I end up going to the emergency room but alas they do not help me there except to prescribe vicadin and that never works on me so like NYXWOLFWALKER said why spend the money on it.
sounds normal to me
as in normal to me becuase i've been living with adominal pain that is around my overies for the past 4 years, and all tests show nothing ... so all i get is take a pain med and get on with it from the docs ... would be nice if pain meds worked but they have not worked with me for 15+ years of my life so why wast income on usless medications.

I have had this and it's always on my left side. I always say my ovaries are trying to escape!
I get this fairly frequently. My theory it that it is a cyst rupturing, or at least thats what it feels like. It hurts whatever it is.
Visit my blog at,
I used to get it all the time. It was enough to stop me in midstep. Not so much now that I'm on the bcp. Usually if it is 2 weeks into your cycle and isn't on one particular side then it is related to ovulation. Here is a link about it and other possibilities.

I have been having discomfort almost painful pressure where my ovaries are. They tend to alternate-sometimes its my right then its my left... but it feels as if someone is grabbing and squeezing them... Ugh! I think it usually happens when I'm suppose to be ovulating, but not sure...
Does anyone else have this??
