Now really: who gains .8 of a pound? I do! Darned scale shouldn't read anything but half and whole pounds..grrrr...That is the scale available at my Tops chapter, and has been for 2.5yrs, so I guess I shouldn't start complaining now!

266.4...I weigh myself every morning (just learning how body fluctuates). I keep losing and gaining same three pounds the past couple weeks. Starting tracking net carbs a few days ago...we'll see what happens.

I kicked off my zero grains/zero sugar (except in fruit) thing on Saturday, and I've lost 7 pounds! It's HARD to get used to this again, but it worked for me in the past, and NOTHING else I've been doing has helped. So, off to a good start. :)

Weight snuck up on me this week: tom on top of way increasing my exercise! Getting more than 100% more walking in and loving it~wish the scale showed me how much my body is liking it...Now to look forward to a loss next time. My Tops chapter has no meeting next week, but I sure will be acting as if there is! No room in my weight loss plans for blow off weeks!! 261.4 is NOT okay.....

I have been so busy this week... today I stepped on the scale and I am 256.5 .. I was truly surprised ..lost 1.5 lbs even when quitting smoking (I am totally off the nicotine patch now too!).

Congratz everyone! :D
I was at a plateau through last week, but I kept pushing! So if you are gaining, take measurements (that's how I got past the slump of not getting anywhere on the scale), reflect on how far you have come so far (no matter how little or big) and just keep on doing what you know is good for you :)

And today ends my first month on sparkpeople, at 258, down 2 pounds from last week :) And 12 lbs altogether this first month!

AUDIOAMBROSIA that's great you're so close to your goal!

So my weight has pretty much stayed the same over the past 2 months. Better than going up I guess. I'm just .2 down from the beginning of May. I did hurt myself when I did my half marathon in the beginning of May and I couldn't do any cardio. I kept telling myself to go and do weights, but I just lost my motivation. I started eating a little worse than I should as well. I'm slowly starting to get back on track though.

I didn't lose weight this week - in fact I gained a few pounds but that may be due to some exercise. What I did lose this week was some inches. And I do expect the weight to follow soon but because of the health issues, I'm going to focus on the inches right now and not put too much on the weight gain this week. So progress has been made!

I guess I've kind of fallen off this challenge by not posting here for awhile. Anyhow, I went on holidays from Mar 8-18 and gained 1.7lbs. BUT I lost all of my stress. I over indulged a bit while away, but also noticed it the next day cuz I was either sluggish or just didn't eat much. I'm back on track this week and ready to drop these pounds. I noticed the difference in myself when I'm accountable as to when I'm not (on holidays). I managed to keep track of my foods while away, but the portions & calorie counts not so much. But here I go :)

Steadily down is great everyone!

Donna, don't worry about the gain. I had a 3-lb gain recently and was really disappointed, but glad to say I've lost the weight since and am down even further than I was.

My weight yesterday was 169 exactly! Hoping I stay in the 160's this time cause I barely touched in the 160's and was quickly back out.

Not a good week for me. Up 2.5 lbs. Lots of parties at work, and of course valentine's day treats. I was trying really hard some of the time, so I know it could have been worse. But still pretty bad. So far I've done a bit better today. But it is mardi gras. emoticon

I hadn't weighed myself the 4 weeks that I have done spark people. So I finally weighed myself and I'm down 7lbs since my doctors visit on 01/16/12. YAY. Hopefully I don't fall off the bandwagon and metformin helps me out.

I fell of the wagon and gain 2 pounds. I was doing good for the first 2 weeks-3 weeks and than bang I stressful situation came up and I was eating with a bing but am starting a new month and am back at 305

started my 2nd day on sparkpeople. I walked up and down on on a stepping board for 20 mins

Hey, everyone! I've been MIA from SP for quite a while, but I'm trying to get my act back together. I have a very busy schedule and have a 2 year old at home so that has made fitting exercise back in very difficult. I've been letting the weight creep up slowly ever since I got pg 3 years ago. I'm so mad at myself! Right now I'm just going to at least try to really focus on entering my food and walking during my lunch break at work. Hopefully I can at least move the trend in the other direction, even if slowly. I was at 239 on Sat. That is about 5 lbs below my all time high. I can't believe I'm here again!!

In the 3 weeks since I posted I've gone from 206.6 to 195.6 :D YEY! Now to keep it going :) Need to build in a bit more exercise, I'm thinking 10mins of SOMETHING (jumping jacks etc) on days when I can't fit in an hour or so workout... Good work girls, let's keep it up :)

I knew I'd drop more than normal because I was dropping weight from my period also. Still nice to see that drop.

Angel, I'll be honest, we all fall off. The important part is getting back on. I also know people who will find a spark friend they can trust and talk to always who then trade phone numbers. I had one of those myself. She was very helpful.

Through much sickness, stress, and PCOS I have let life get the better of me and had got up to 343 I am so ashamed to say. I am so ashamed of that number, but it is a starting point and not an ending point. I lost 8lbs in my first week which is amazing. I had a wonderful week of exercise and nutrition and I love this website. This is my second week and the last two days have been tough. I wish my internet wasn't down yesterday. I needed to talk to someone, but here I am today. I started my period this week and it has had quite a toll on me. I am more hungry, more tired, more stressed, and more depressed. I'm sort of in a mini panic mode worried about falling off the wagon so to speak. I want to lose weight more than anything. I need to lose weight more than anything.

Mimi, I did in fact get my butt up and play at least one game. Wasn't a lot, but I did something. Add on to that that none of my puppies wanted to go back in their cage and wouldn't come to me.... Chased 4 puppies around the yard. Great exercise, lol.

I lost 2.2 pounds from last week which brings me to 170.6. Soooo close to being in the 160's! I can't wait!!!!

Elle, that is always so frustrating. A tip I got once from my doctor was because we have PCOS doing more things with strength training and weights can help us loose weight or get us going again.

Hi I am new to the group!! I was diagnosed about 10 years ago only to be told, I that was not correct, only to be told last week it is true :/
I had my right ovary/tube removed before thanksgiving......gained to 230 lbs since the surgery and this past week, has lost 8 pounds (mainly water weight). I have a whole new outlook and determination.

I'm down to 181 - hit the 10 lbs milestone today.

Shelly - make sure you aren't over exercising or under eating. Your daily calorie deficit (calories out minus calories in) should not be greater than 1000. Any more and your body thinks food is scarce and your metabolism starts to reverse and you start seeing weight gain despite all other efforts to lose.

1000 calories a day = 7000 a week which = 2 lbs which is a healthy amount of weight loss.
I try to shoot for between 500 - 1000 a day - that way I know I'll be down at least 1 lbs at my next weigh in

179.8 - My first weigh in since the beginning of the year and it means I've gained 1.4lbs :(( I've worked hard exercising and have tried to not always log everything I eat since I'm wanting this journey to be a little more relaxed, but when I do log nutrition I find I am in the calorie allowance assigned to me (I know this won't always be true). Can you tell I'm obssessing and stressing about this lol - I guess it could be divine payback for losing weight over the festive period when I ate way too much of the good stuff!

Anyway, my next weigh in is in 2 weeks and hopefully it will be better news then.

I got back on SP just this week so my start weight for 2012 is 206.6lbs (on the 8th).
I've started fitting in an hour of exercise after my morning classes so I need to make sure I keep that up and I'm also taking the stairs not the lift, that means 6 flights of stairs 2-3 times a day at least! Hopefully that'll help!
As for food I've always liked good quality, healthy food, but I'm trying to be more conscious of what I'm eating and tracking it. Water has always been my drink of choice but now I'm keeping bottles on my desk and in my handbag to make sure I drink lots of it!! :)

GAJEN, this may sound really weird, but when I was busy like you are I would do small exercises every time I went for a bathroom break. Only added a couple minutes, but I at least got 10 minutes of exercise a day! There are a ton you can do.

I still haven't weighted yet. I probably will tomorrow when I get up. I made a point of eating breakfast this morning. I am not a breakfast eater. I can go the 4 hours before lunch without ever getting hungry. But, I ate some oatmeal because I know breakfast is important.

My weight for this week is 235. I think for me the hardest thing is my schedule at work. I work 5, 12 hours days and I work at night. So, it is real hard to find time to exercise. But, I have been making sure that I take healthy snacks to work. As well as more vegetables.

As I was feeding my baby the other day (she just started on solids a few weeks ago), I tasted something to make sure it wasn't too warm and thought "These aren't that bad". I'm actually considering using them to try to add veggies into my diet (my current opinion is that veggies are evil incarnate)

I just started again after almost a year and a half off (pregnancy and then the craziness of life with a newborn). I'm starting simple. Just calories for now...I'll worry about quality calories once I get this down.

My wisdom teeth are posing a big problem right now. Well. I guess my lack of wisdom teeth, but you get the point. I got them cut out a week ago and have dry sockets. Let me just say the choices of food that are mushy and require little chewing, but still taste good aren't very healthy.

I did do 2 spark videos today and got in 10 minutes of strength and 10 minutes of cardio with them. Always nice. I haven't weighted yet, but I'll do that soon.
