Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? Buckets of wasted time that could be an exquisite lace shawl. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much

put the cardigan aside and started working on the violet zig zag lace shawl from sweaterbabe.

Found a lot of stash yarn in a varigated colors and using that.

What's on my needles?

1. Dishcloths for a wedding gift.
2. Fingerless Gloves for my daughter.
3. Scarf for Charity.
These are the ones in my knitting bag and there are many more back in the abyss of my craft room.

Oh, dear, Fluffy.
Sorry about your yarn being wrapped around your dear cats.

The "circular shawl' I am working on is actually called a "ribbed caplet" It is nearly done now. Very soon.

Morning
During the Olympics on TV, I am knitting a shawl done in the round with Noro's variegated "Silk Garden" silk/Kid Mohair/Lambs Wool blend yarn. It is for me, and I am thrilled to be working on it. Joe's 82 year old Aunt Pat in Cass, Michigan, showed me her circular shawl and I fell in love. She shared the pattern, and I was able to find suitable yarn in Royal Oak, Michigan before the reunion. So I was able to show her the yarn I purchased to make a shawl like hers. She was so pleased, I got a huge hug. Families are wonderful!!

Update on my girlfriend Cathy
Her surgery is stalled until the chemo can reduce the mass of her breast carcinoma. Six months of chemo scheduled before surgery will be an option. I took her three hand knit hats on Saturday. Silly woman wanted to pay me. I gathered them up and told her I would take them home with me before I would let her pay a dime. She backed off, told me she loves me, and thanked me with big hugs. emoticon emoticon

Cathy says when her hair starts coming off in clumps, she will shave her head completely. That way she just has to face the trauma once. Good girl. She has a fantastic attitude now.

On one set of needles a new pair of socks is started.

On another circular needle, a circular shawl that goes over the head.

On yet a third set of needles, I need to start chemo hats for my dear friend, Cathy who has begun her round of chemo treatments. Still deciding on hat patterns - I bought soft yarn in Port Huron, Michigan and Northville Michigan in delightful shops. I have a book of hats, so just need to browse through and find suitable patterns.

So lots to choose fro with a good variety to keep me going.

Jean, most likely it was from the sodium and fat from the food.

Had to rip out the tunic I started . I thought I had 20 balls of the one I started with and found out I only had 4

I am back to knitting when I sit down. I am working on the 2nd sock of a pair I started in May.

I am really concentrating on walking 5 miles a day. I gained weight on vacation, but have walked all but one nasty pound back off. I don't eat nearly as much at home as we did on the road.

the boss at the center asked me what to do for the crafts this month.... I have thought about art therapy - so would love to start a little bit.. I have water color paper squares from a venture I wanted to start.. anyway with CD cases, they can paint- draw and glue pics.. then place into cd case and you can prop for a frame or use for a cd case of pictures / music... what do you think ??
seniors..some with disabilities/arthritis.. but can do simple crafts...

You are not using a yarn over to make up for the purl 2 togethers

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? I am just over half way through a shawl not a triangle one an oblong one. Nice easy pattern 78 stitches
*K2, P2 tog rep from * across the row end with K2

I am using 7.5 needles with Aran weight yarn this gives the shawl a nice open look.

I need 70" of length for this cancer shawl before I can pick up for the body. So far I have about 40"

I just bound off the mizzle shawl I started on Friday. Last Sunday I finished a shawl I was testing knitting and Friday night I bound off a scarf I was making in feather and fan stitch. So now just have one project to sew the shoulders on, put in the sleeves and then do the front edging.

Just finished an Ariel Pajama Bag. Not the easiest project, but turned out well and sure did bring back a lot of fun memories. Main project at the moment is a child's pinwheel sweater (pattern free from Elann.com). Instead of using several colors, I've chosen to use a multi-color. So far it's looking good!

A silver with purple accents shawl for grand daughter's Prom in May, and a pair of socks. The socks are for knitting while traveling -- no due date, just keeping my fingers busy in the car or plane.

well I finished and threw the gator purse in the washer with some other stuff to felt- and a cotton rug fraide....spell ?....... so I have little white specks of cotton felted onto a greeny/blue handspun wool purse...... its a mess...... even washed inside out - the cotton is all over it.. I brushed it with my cats brush - and it put a dent in it...also the cord I crocheted now does not fit in the eye holes the pattern has... emoticon waste

8 inches and ball 4 of hemp yarn on lion brand cardi

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? Buckets of wasted time that could be an exquisite lace shawl. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much
