Glad you didn't break your toe!! That hurts !! I broke my baby toe last friday and it still hurts like crazy and there isn't anything you can do about it...

Well I broke the plateau doinng only cardio this week I weighed myself yesterday and am now .2 away from my 10 lbs hahaha sheesh what a long road this ten has been!!

I will zip over to the May check in room :)

Ali- I am so happy you didn't break those toes. I remember a few years back, I stubbed my pinky toe on an ottoman. You could hear it snap. Youch!!! Not sure how Linda's working out with a broken toe, because I was such a baby.

I got a Nike running shoe, I can't remember what style though. I do like it. I'd tried a cross trainer & one of the "shape-up" style shoes. I didn't like them. When walking they both hurt my feet. Once igot running shoes, I felt a noticeable difference!

Yesterday at around 4am I stubbed my 2 baby toes (on Olivia's changing table) on my left foot so hard, I thought they may be broken!! But they're bruised & sore & one is cut...but not broken. So I took yesterday off & today I did C25K Week 6, Day 2! I ran (jogged, with a 3 min walking interval in the middle) 2.5 miles in 25 minutes!

Keep at it ladies, Linda - I now feel your foot pain! I hope you're feeling better!

WOW .. Waay to keep at it ladies!

I went shoe shopping looking for runners .. There are so many out there and of course all the ones on the shelf to try on were the ones that I had to stuff my broken toe into haha I am not sure to get a runner or a cross trainer :) I will eventually be running (by the end of may) I guess choosing will go by what feels good for you :)

I am going to shock my body into doing something by doing some kick butt cardio this week... Kickboxing as well as HIIT. If that doesn't get the ball rolling then I don't know what will :) This plateau thing really sucks... and it's that 1.4 lbs that is killing me but I will get it I just need to jump around the house some more HAHAHA My daughter loves it.. :)

Linda- don't get frustrated or defeated. You're doing everything right, so eventually your body is going to get with the program and start to really change. I think the muscle confusion that you're doing right now is a GREAT idea. Doing the same thing all the time can get the body adjusted and the changes stop. You're going to see results. You just have to keep on keeping on. It's GOT to happen.

Ali- you are TOTALLY a runner. 2.5 miles with the doggie when you didn't even feel like working out at all? That's a runner, if I've ever heard of one. Thanks for the encouragement on the 2 mile run that's coming up. I'm sure I can do it. 99% of this seems to be mental.

Yesterday was a pretty good day for me. I did half an hour of eliptical at lunch, then didn't feel like working out after work, so I forced myself to change into my workout gear and hit the dvr anyway. I did 20 minutes of abs with Jackie Warner- OUCH, then 20 minutes of upper body strength with Kathy Smith... Again- OUCH. Then about 3/4 mile walk with the geriatric dog. I felt really good that I did it, even when it was the last thing I felt like doing. That couch was calling my name for sure.

Linda - I've heard that hip hop abs is tough & if your legs are popping, then obviously it's a good workout!

Kay - you're almost to the 2 mile jog! For me it was like "if I can do this, I can do anything!"

Today I wasn't really planning to workout. I didn't get much sleep last night because my daughter is sick :( & I am exhausted! so once she went to bed tonight I took the dog for a short walk. Well it turned into a 2.5 mile jog. I stopped a few times with the dog & walked a bit to give both of us a break but for the most part, I was jogging. I might be turning into a runner... emoticon

Broke down and did some Hip hop Abs ;) I am actually sweating my butt off and my legs are popping... So even tho the toe hurts I am going to do all cardio this week and next week back to Body Rev ;) Have to keep changing the rules I guess but I want some results soon :)

So I did my measurements this morning.... Let's just say ... I am not happy! I am exactly where I was 6 weeks ago. Nothing has changed... Not up or down. What am I doing wrong? I have even added more. Can't be my diet I don't eat crap and I drink tons of water... I am about to cry :( I know it won't stop me from following through but I just don't get it. I am still peeved about my toe and yes it is getting better but I don't want to pressure it so I may take the week off and take some notes and start this phase 2 next week. :(

I did C25K Week 5 Day 1 & 2 on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Also snuck in some gardening & dog walks, but didn't turn on the DVD player. Got to change that this week.

Linda- be kind to that toe. Don't push too hard, so that the bone can start to heal.

Busy day today & I'm exhausted from a benefit I went to last night then running around all day...so no workout today.

Happy Sunday!!

I managed yesterday to walk and walk some more... It was so beautiful out I just didn't want to be in the house... My toe was throbbing but I did it :) Hubby and I found a lil restaurant and I had a protein soup and he had a gucci salad .. Oh my I was full all day and he is a huge eater and he was full from his salad and half of my soup. I will definately be going back there it was so yummy :)

Today I will do more of the same it is even nicer out today. Toe is feeling better so I will start back into Phase 2 tomorrow .. Wooohooo! ;)

Oh very nice!! I hope you both had a great time. We all need a little time away... but for me I am taking time off but only because I broke my baby toe yesterday. UGGH I am so upset but I won't let it ruin my efforts... I did weigh myself today and of course the scale didn't move so it upset me even more. I would really like to know what I am doing wrong. Maybe it's because it's the last 15lbs I have no idea but I could just go cry in my corner right now ...

But of course I won't.. I am going to see what I can actually do today with little mobility. SIGH!!

At least it is a nice day so far I want to get little one out for a walk and get some pictures :) I guess it's ok as long as I keep moving :)

Linda - remember that even if the scale's not moving, measurements can often tell you your true progress. Good luck!

I did C25K week 6, day 1 and day 5 of 30 DSD: BFBM. I haven't done that in a while...I didn't forget how hard it is, but I did forget how awesome I feel when it's done!

I took yesterday off, I had the opportunity for an impromptu date night with my husband emoticon

Phase 1 ends Saturday I think I will do measurements Sunday but I am terrified of seeing the results .. I know I won't give up but I want to see at least the 1.4 to reach my 10lbs.. I know if I don't it can't be because I am not pushing it... I see changes .. it may just be my age and maybe taking longer to get my metabolism up and or that the lack of sleep. Only getting 7hrs in sometimes less. You would think with the amount that I move in a day that this would be falling off but nope I think I am at a plateau..

This week I have done my body rev but also walked 4 miles for 2 days with my daughter and done extra spark videos on the other days and giving sunday as my day of rest. Now tell me that isn't enough??? I dunno Let's just hope for some kind of results!!

Kay - that's so weird how we've had similar experiences!

Linda - if you're willing to share, I'd love to hear your results!

I did C25K week 5, day 3....I'm so proud of myself for jogging for the full 20 minutes! Ok...I did take a short break a minute 10 for a sip of water & to check on my daughter in the stroller (she had fallen asleep) and it was only about 30 seconds.

Then after dinner I did day 4 of 30 DSD (30 DS level 1). I feel great! emoticon And tired... emoticon

Way to go Linda- hope you like Phase 2 as much as Phase 1. Do you do measurements at the end of each Phase? If so, did you have awesome results?

Ali- that's funny about NMTZ and how it kicked your behind because you hadn't done it in so long, because I kind of did the same thing. Yesterday, I decided to focus on strength training, because with c25k, I just haven't been doing as much as I think I should.... so I put in a dVD I haven't done in a long time- Bob Harper's Pure Burn, Super Strength.Holy cow! Did that kick my butt!! i only made it through 45 of the 65 minutes, but still burned 350 calories. Wow! Were my arms killing me during that workout. I need to do this one more often, for sure.

Wow! I love that feeling of wanting to keep going - it shows you're in good shape!

Rest day for me. It's not a scheduled one but Tuesdays are the day my mom stays over to watch my daughter & it's raining so no C25K. I can really use the day off - my abs are killing me!

Each phase is 30 days. There are 3. I love it way better than the Shred. That was great but too intense .. this seems more structured. Plus I feel better and can feel each muscle I worked that day :)

I like the shred but for me it wasn't a good fit. She is a great trainer you just need to find the right program for you. I have gotten to the point now that I have so much energy after the workout that I want to keep going. So I have added in a spark video 3 days a week and walking with my dog and daughter 4 or 5 times a week depending on the weather. I am almost sad that phase 1 is ending haha but I am looking forward to how intense phase 2 will be.
Maybe try adding in some strength training videos from spark .. they are quick and give good results at least you won't be doing nothing :)

That's great Linda! How long are the phases?

No C25K for me today. But I did Day 3 of 30DSD: NMTZ. I haven't done it since February when I did the 30 Day slim down...some more. I just was so sick of it, I would make up any excuse not to do it. And now that I'm paying for it! Also doing almost no strength training in the past month is not helping. It was so hard! And I'm so sore from doing 2 days of Jillian before! I can never let it go this long again!

I am glad I took a day off I really needed it but today was an awesome workout! I was able to push past where I was last week! I am so proud of myself. Last week of Phase 1. Can't wait to see how she is going to challenge me for the next phase!

Haven't been so great at posting lately, but I have been working out. Yesterday I did C25K Week 4 Day 3. Shew! There's no way I could have run for 5 minutes straight 4 weeks ago, so this thing seems to be working somehow.

I also did Kelly Coffey-Myers 30 Minutes to Fitness Muscle Definition Workout 2 yesterday, to get in a little strength training. Felt good when I was done, cos I did not feel like doing that at all after the earlier run at the gym. Today will be more circuit training- probably Jillian or Bob.

Keep going, Ladies! Way to go with doubling it up, Ali.

I feel for you on the whole "no sleep" thing... I've been there & I'm sure I'll be there again! It seems like every time we get into a good sleep patern, something happens to interrupt it.

I did C25K week 5, day 2 tomorrow. And I did 30 DS level 1.

Way to Go!

I had to take a day off as I had no sleep or more like 6 hrs in two days (little one missed mommy at night I guess)... . As much as I wanted to workout I just didn't want to hurt myself from being exhausted ... so today instead of doing nothing I just the the 12 min Spark low impact cardio video... better than nothing and at least I ate well and managed to catch a 3 hr nap today so I am all caught up for tomorrow ;)

Sunday is supposed to be my day off but because I had Friday off I will do my Bod Rev tomorrow and and extra to be back on track for Monday.

Hello all! I'm so glad this tense week is over, I live 15 miles outside of Boston. I wasn't under lockdown but was downtown on Thursday night for the Fleetwood Mac concert.

I took Thursday & yesterday off. I decided to just go for it and start 30 Day Slim Down today instead of waiting for May 1st. So now by May 1st I'll be 1/3 done!

So day 1 was 30 DS level 1. Same thing tomorrow & I'll also do week 5 day 2 of C25K.

Today I did the 10 min cardio kick bootcamp video then jumped into my Week 3 vid 3 Body Rev... OOOOOWIIEEE I am feeling it but am hoping I will get some results if I kick it up a notch. I will add a new video at least 3 days a week and hopefully things will progress quicker ... it's brutal but it's only about 1 hr out of my day and beats sitting around :) I will look into the C25k on the weekend ...

Jillian sure is kicking my butt with this week 3 and 4 videos. 2 weeks now til I weigh in and do measurements ... GOAL GOAL!!! ;)

Sorry I've been MIA but I've been keeping up with my workouts! I did C25K week 4, day 3 yesterday & week 5 day 1 today. I also did yoga meltdown once over the weekend. I need to do more strength training. I've decided to do 30 day slim down again starting May 1st & continue to do C25K. Hopefully that'll get me in shape for summer emoticon

It sound like everyone's doing great! Kay - keep up those JM workouts!

Linda - I've been using the C25K plan as an excuse to not do JM. But I've loved getting outside more! I'm hoping once I start a new routine (30 DSD) it will give me that push I need to do both!

I did Ripped in 30 L1 after work, did elliptical at lunch and a quick 1 mile with the doggie when I got home. Not too bad for a Tuesday.

Still haven't started Week 4 of c25K. Loved doing a little Jillian with a coworker.

I can't wait to try the c25k program... is it too tough to add to my Body Rev routine? I am going this week to see about my jogging stroller and see what's out there. Weather is finally getting nice and I really want to get out there.

On week 3 of Body Rev... new video working front of the body... wow I feel it today! WOHOOO! Still have crappy upper body strength but hoping if I add heavier weights it will help me out. I want to do more than 10 push ups and it makes me so frustrated that I can't. :( but I will keep trying!

Saturday I did my last workout for week 3 of C25K. It was a little bit easier than the first day, so that was a great thing. Then I did 15 minutes on the Arc Trainer at the gym. Good day over all.

Sunday I did a 40 minute weight workout called Muscle Definition by Kelly Coffey-Myers. That was good. Truly felt the burn. Then I had 15 minutes of the Reebok Step routine. That one I like, but the MTV style of it is pretty cheesy. And a mile walk with the pooch.

Maybe counting during my breaths would help me too, Ali. I may have to try it.

Kay - sounds like you had a busy day! I'll keep you posted on hard body. I ordered from amazon with a preorder movie, so I'm not sure when I'll get it... As for the breathing, I just count ad I inhale & exhale. It actually takes my mind off the running & makes the interval go by faster.

Yesterday I did Week 4 day 2. I know I'm supposed to take a break in between running days but i had the opportunity & ceased it! No running today!

Hey there! I've been looking at that Hard Body DVD. It's only $9.99 at Target. Once you try it out, you will have to let us know how you like it! Lord knows how I need another DVD to add to my collection- NOT! But I do love a good workout.

I did Week 3 Day 2 of C25K yesterday first thing when I got up. It was good. I was still having a hard time during the 3 minute runs, but I kept going. Still got the breathing issue. I read the article that you posted. I wish I had enough oxygen getting to my brain during those jogs to do the thinking required to control the breathing. It's just a viscious cycle.

Then in the evening, I took the dog for her daily 1 mile walk in the rain. I did the standing 15 minute ab routine from Jackie Warner's Xtreme Abs. I liked not having to get on the floor to do abs for a change.

No idea what's on the agenda for today.

Stick with it Linda - JM's programs a killer & they deliver results! I lost 50 lbs doing her DVDs

I did C25K today...Week 4 Day 1. I left the dog at home this time...and my daughter fell asleep less than 1/2 through... It was easier emoticon in some respects. Jogging for 5 minutes 2 times was not easy. I tried that breathing technique but kept forgetting. I'll need more practice. Also the 1st 5 minute interval I was interrupted by a phone call from my hubby so it was 3 min & 2 min with a short break.

Thanks Ali I will see what I can find.. I have a little while to work on that as we still have snow on the ground plus more on the way. SIGH! I hate winter!! So now that I am back to work I am going to treat myself and lil miss to some new workout clothes and shoes and her stroller when I get my first full pay! WOHOOO! I am thrilled about getting back into running ...

I haven't seen anything about the Hard Body DVD yet I may just see what I can find out ;) I know I still have a long way to go with the Body Rev (90day prog) But I am loving how I feel so far and can't wait until I see some great results ;)

Linda - a friend gave me her jogging stroller. It's a Jeep brand stroller (I guess they make strollers!) I love it, it works well. But there's nothing really special about it.

My dog is like yours Ali he just gets going then poof all of a sudden he will stop dead or get wrapped around a pole or tree. I used to walk him first before I ran... so with this being said.. what is a good jogging stroller and also heart rate monitor? What should I look for?

Onto Cardio day for me... I think Jillian is trying to kill me HEHEHE JK i love this workout! :)

I did sign up for a local 5K for Diabetes. It's on June 1st - so no slacking off for me!

Last night I looked up some articles about breathing while running. I've been huffing & puffing all through week 3! I found this article & plan to try this technique

Hi everyone!
I did 30DS L1 yesterday after work with a coworker that hasn't joined me for Jillian Fun Time in months, so I was thrilled to have her back. Then went home, started dinner and while it was in the oven, I did C25k Week 3 Workout 1. Boy oh boy does 3 minutes feel like a long time. I'm hoping that by the third time I do this, I won't be nearly as winded. My heart rate monitor said my heart was beating at 180 bps. That's not good. I know I'll get better at this, but I think I may need to do an extra day or two of this week to build up some stamina. We'll see how I feel.

I haven't signed up for a 5k yet. Have you, Ali?? That's funny about your dog. My dog is a medium sized mutt and she's going on 14 yrs old this year. I walk her about a mile every single day, but I can't see her running at all. Although she THOUGHT she was running pretty quickly after a chipmunk the other day.... it wasn't very fast at all.

Keep it up ladies!! We are going to be looking good by shorts season! (That's the plan at least!)

I did C25K today. Week 3 day 3. I may need to start leaving my dog at home. He just slows me down too much & I'm really trying to get my endurance up. When he's pulling in one direction or wants to stop while we're running it makes me stop. I just dont see him running for a full 5 minutes. So I'll have to walk him, bring him home & then run with my daughter.

Way to stick with it Ali :)

I am hoping to see some results as I need to see something soon I feel like I am at a standstill with everything right now. No matter how hard I push it I dont' see anything ... but I will do the 30 , 60 and 90 day results and won't be too hard on myself. JM sure is giving me a reason to keep at it though. I made it to level 3 on shred but it just wasn't what I was looking for. I may start it again after this Body Rev is done. Then I am hoping to be back up to running again come summer time. Tons of goals to accomplish this year and I am so excited about it all :)

Way to Go Kay! Keep at it! :) Hope everyone is having a great Monday!

I didn't check in yesterday but I did C25K week 3 day 2. Jogging for those 3 minutes is tough!!! But I'm going to stick with it!

Today I took a 2 mile walk with my daughter & dog. And I did 30 DS level 1. I haven't been working out with JM much. It felt good to do it.

It sounds like everyone is doing great! Kay - stick with it! Have your signed up for a 5K?
Linda - I'm curious to know your review/results of body rev! A coworker told me she bought it but she hasn't talked with me about it, so I think she gave up :( JM is NOT easy - but she delivers amazing results!

That is one of the reasons why I love that site. I did the bootcamps here and pumped it up with workouts from there... it sure helped take off those first 5 lbs :)

Just finished week 1 of Body Rev. That was an amazing week glad I have a day off tomorrow then back at it for Monday! I am so proud of myself for sticking with this. I usually give up after a month for lack of variety. But this year I swore I was going to take my time see what's out there and pace myself and it is paying off :)

Linda -I love fitnessblenders because they have variety. I can do something new every day.

My routing is same, I did exercise from fitnessblenders and run my 5 miles.

I have Sat Body Rev then Sunday is a day off. I may do a big family walk ... Monday I am back work after a year off... Looking forward to it :)

I love that fitnessblender site I have done a lot of workouts and use the warm up and cool down sessions every day before I workout. Gives me that umpf and that little extra stretch ...

Hey there SuperWomen!
On Wednesday, I ended up doing Bob's Beginner Weight Loss with lady from work. Then yesterday was my rest day. I felt pretty crappy. Fever off and on- hoping today is better- since I have to be at work all day.

Today I am planning to do Week 2 Day 2 of the C25k.(Another reason why I really need to be feeling healthy. Those 90 second runs were tough on Day 1.)

Looking beautiful Ali! You and Linda are Awesome! With my ill one I was never able to add exercise in my routine. My goal right now is to look like you in the picture, your size. I am sure when I will reach your size, you will weigh same as miss USA . emoticon
Kay- emoticon emoticon I know you can do it and inspire so many others like me to keep pushing.
I am doing exercise for thin waist from fitnessblenders, and doing my 5 miles daily. emoticon in 12 days I have walked 60 miles. I am feeling a huge difference in my stamina.
I found out ( I didn't knew it before.may be you guys know it already) if you are doing exercise for weight loss and you are doing aerobics for that its not good.why? Because if you stop exercising after reaching your goal weight you will start gaining it back in one month. On the other hand if you are strength training,it will take a year to gain it back. That was an eye opener for me.

Yea, it's tough to fit it all in! My house isn't as clean as I'd like...but something has to give when I'm trying to be Super Woman! Lol!

I did C25K week 3 day 1. I hate that feeling of breathing so heavy when I start running longer - the 3 minute stretches were tough but I have to believe, like with weeks 1 & 2 it will get easier!

And I like that I can workout with my daughter!!! emoticon emoticon

Howdy ladies. I have to hand it to those of you with little ones. I cannot imagine trying to juggle taking care of a toddler with working out/work/eating right. So much to do. I really have so much respect for you Mommies out there. Toughest job in the world.

I did Day 1 of Week 2 of C25K yesterday. Those were the longest 90 seconds of my life! But I pushed through it! Hopefully Day 2 will be just a little bit easier. We'll see.

I see a little Bob or Jillian in my future today.

Ali- I noticed you already started dropping the vacation weight. Way to go!!!

I did day 3 week 2 of couch 2 5K.

Linda - how old is your lil miss? I have a 19 month old daughter named Olivia. She was sleeping through the night like a champ but then we away on vacation, then she got sick, so she hasn't been sleeping through the night. I'm hoping that she'll be back on track tonight!

I did my day 2 of Body Rev and it was awesome! Can't wait to amp it up ;) It really doesn't matter what you do as long as you do it. I am totally sad I go back to work next week after being off for a year with little one. I hope this all works as I wanted the fitness to be a huge part of my day .. I work evenings so I am hoping that it will all work out ...PLUS hoping that lil miss will get back to sleeping all night was up at 330 am this morning sigh ...
