Today was day 22 for me. I've modified the workouts that I do the DVD 5 days a week (M-F)and hit the gym twice a week (once on the weekday and then once on the weekend) and then 1 day off (usually Sunday).

I also had to move things around so no Sunday rest day for me, Today is NMTZ, I find that it starts to hurt my knees so mot so impressed with that. Haven't noticed as much of a change as I did with The Shred, but my biceps are definitely looking more impressive!!

Day 5 BFBM yesterday, and I have to say, I hated it! I had a very hard time following some of the exercises and I had to take several breaks. The good news is that I can only get better from here :)

Tonight is Day 6, QTZ. I am ready for Day 7, to rest!

Day 5 BFBM yesterday - wasn't sure what to expect from a cardio vid by Jillian, but I really loved it. It kicked my butt and I burnt quite a few calories. The only thing that I didn't like was the background girls showing off how flexible they were constantly.

Day 6 QTZ today - Still found even the quick version of this one really hard, and was glad when it was over. I find it really hurts my right knee though, any thoughts on how to work around that??

Week one done though, really liking this rotation more then the shred as it has more variety!!

How did everyone else do??

This is my first time checking in but today is Day 12 for me. I really can't believe that I've been able to stick with it this far. I'm really surprise how much I sweat when I do these. OK time to stop typing pt the baby down for his nap and to working out.

i loose weight then gain a little bit, but i do notice more muscle definition and my clothes fit better. Stick with the whole 30 days. also make sure you are making smart food decisions, burning extra calories does not mean you can eat lots of extra junk food. that tends to be my issue. i get tired after exercising and want to eat junk. i try to keep better options available for portion snacking.

I did level 1 day 3 today and now i've gained over 1 lb, doesn't sound good. I can never seem to find exercises to lose weight so gets irritating. Doing 30 day shred. Does anyone else have this problem of gaining too much weight? How long has it taken to lose weight?

thanks.

Day 30 done for me as well!!! NMTZ seemed easy this morning (probably because I knew it was my last day) I cannot believe it! Seems like I just started this rotation last week!

Of course, it really isn't my "last day" as I plan to continue working out, but it does feel SO great to know that I held strong for 30 days and completed this rotation! On to the next one (whatever that may be). Cathy, like you, I may just alternate her workouts until Jan 1st and figure out a new rotation for then. Gosh, if I keep this up until summer, I may actually look good in a bikini!

Woo-hoo, day 30 done!!

What a great gift, HannahZoe! You're going to have so much fun trying new workouts.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do now either, other than that I want to get back to Pilates in addition to Jillian. I'm thinking I'll do non-Jillian workouts until January 1 and then start Ripped in 30, 5 days a week with 1 day of Pilates. I know I'll want to do this rotation again sometime, it's been a challenge but really rewarding!

Aw, Cathy - I'm proud of you!! I did Day 29 today - Shred level 2 and then 1. I had a few glasses of wine last night too, so it almost acted as a "hangover cure" for me, even though it was also torture. I have NMTZ tomorrow for day 30 and will be looking forward to figuring out what I'm going to continue on with after this. I need to figure that out tomorrow, but if I don't, I will probably alternate between NMTZ, BFBM and 2 levels of shred in one day (or I may allow myself to "slack" a bit and just do one level once in a while). Hubby got me a Roku box for our TV, so the possibilities for videos will be limitless now with the internet streaming! I am LOVING the changes I'm seeing as a result of this rotation though, so I'll probably stick with Jillian.

Thanks, HannahZoe! It's been fun going through this with you!

Yea, I got up early this morning to do QTZ! When the alarm went off I wanted to roll over and go back to sleep, but I told myself, "Let's just get up and go to the bathroom and see what we think then." By then I was awake and knew I'd feel better if I got the workout in. One more day to go, and it's a long one - NMTZ & 30 DS2, but I have the time tomorrow so I'll actually finish the challenge in 30 days!

Awww, Cathy! I'm honored that I've had that impact on you!! You've been so wonderfully supportive too and I'm not sure I would have stuck with it, had it not been for you and this check in!

So, I finished day 28 today, which was BFBM and QTZ...So not a fan of the 2-in-one workouts (especially the looong ones), but I know they are definitely boosting my calorie burn, which is perfect timing for the holiday weekend. I think I'm STILL going to try and get up tomorrow AM (believe it or not). I'm too scared to fall off track and let myself sleep in, as I'm nervous that I won't get back to it if I do that. Wait...I can't sleep in anyway, because I have a 3-year-old. ;)

Happy Holidays, everyone!

HannahZoe, you continue to inspire me to do more than I thought I'd do! I haven't missed a day yet.

Thursday night after work I did 30 Day Shred 2 (at 9:00 p.m.!!) so I got 30 DS2 and QTZ done that day. Yesterday before I left for the airport I did Shred 1 & 2. Today I did NMTZ. All I have left to do is:

1) QTZ
2) NMTZ & 30DS 2

I really might miss a day tomorrow. I'm playing piano & organ duets with my dad at church, and we have to be there early to practice, then the whole family is coming over to mom and dad's house for Christmas. I'm going to try to get up early enough to squeeze in QTZ. We'll see!

Day 27 - NMTZ and Shred Level 1, done!

Wow, that was nuts. I actually laid down on the mat and skipped a few push-ups in the beginning of the 2nd workout (probably partly due to lack of sleep last night). My body didn't want to go any further, but I forced it to and I feel great now!

Quick Trouble Zones for me today.

I too am going to have to juggle things over the next few days. I'll get in all workouts eventually, but maybe not 2 in one day and most likely not in 30 days! :-)

Day 24 - BFBM, done! Feeling a little less than optimal now, considering the wine I had last night but I got through my workout and am happy that I did! I'm also up a pound, so I need to start tracking my foods again (which I haven't been). I find that it really helps me to keep focus. That's going to be my new rule...Every time my weight goes up, I'm going to start tracking again for a week.

Thanks, Cathy! Yes, it is definitely a positive. I've been commuting 45 minutes each way to work with a detour (making it an hour) to drop my son off at preschool in the mornings. I'll still have to bring my son to preschool, but my life will definitely be easier overall...(after the initial adjustment phase)!

Day 23 (only 7 more to go!!!!): QTZ - circuits 1-4. Seemed easy this AM!

So, over the next couple of weeks, I'm allowing myself leeway to indulge just a little more (at least in this next week). I'm still going to be very mindful of portions...My life will be changing in a big way within the next month. I'll be working a shift that's 2 hours later than my current shift but I'll be working from home instead of driving into the office! So, I'll have extra time in the morning to myself after dropping my son off at pre-school. I have many ideas of how I'll spend it but I'm wondering how it will actually work out...i.e. if I'll just want to relax and chill out or if I actually will get that extra housework, scrapbooking, grocery shopping, exercising done. :) I'm hopeful that I'll get into a productive routine.

Day 7 - Rest - Sunday

Day 8 - Shred Level 1 - done

So I'm starting to notice some changes in the mirror. With the holidays and all that goes with them I am making it a mini goal to not gain any over the next two weeks and keep dilligent with the Slim Down challenge. If I don't lose any on the scale I will be fine with that since I know that I am building muscle and keeping up with cardio. Next week will be easier than this one since I am taking vacation time to stay home with daughter.

Question: How will the next two weeks be different for you, if at all?

Day 22 - Shred 2 & 1 - done! Wasn't bothered as much by the 2 workouts in one morning so much this morning. I continue to skip the cool-down/warm-up between videos. My 3YO son woke up at 5:30 this morning and joined me. So funny to see him do his own modified version of push-ups...Too cute! Wish I'd gotten a video of it. :)

I'm taking today as a day off instead of Monday. I'm just going to move everything down a day. Tomorrow will be BFBM, Sunday NMTZ, etc. I already started to feel slimmer from working out. It is geat when you feel the affects. I weighed myself yesterday and actually lost 3lbs from Monday!! Not sure if it will stick over the weekend, but we will see.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Day 21 for me: 30 Day Shred 1 & 2. I've never done them back to back before. I used lighter weights than usual and that helped. I got through and know I had a kick-butt workout. These double workouts sure up the calorie burn over the week - I was about 600 above my goal for the week!

I got through 30 DS Level 2 partly. I did two circuits, the last strength in the last circuit than my daughter had a meltdown and I had to stop. At least I did some of it.

Cathy-Thanks for the advice I will have to think about it. I'm sore now and I do not go heavy because I need to be able to lift my kids. If I'm sore, it gets a little hard. I will see how next week goes.

30DS-1 and QTZ today. I wasn't sure I'd fit it in but I did!

LOSING, if QTZ feels too easy, you could always increase the weight. Jillian tends to use 3lbs in her videos and sometimes I use 5lbs. I use 5lbs most of the time for 30DS. Just a thought. And keep in mind, later on in the rotation you'll be doing QTZ with another workout. Today I did QTZ after 30DS and it seemed much more challenging for me. I also think it's good to have an occasional "lighter" exercise day so maybe it's OK that QTZ feels easy to you? Of course, your idea to just do the whole workout is also a great solution!

3 weeks done! Amazing. I am loving this rotation! I need to get in for a massage though. All that shoulder work is (sadly) going into my neck a bit more than it should.

Day 20, BFBM, Done!! 2/3rds done now!!!!

I agree - time to yourself when you have a child is precious indeed! I know we feel guilty sometimes for feeling that way but we shouldn't.

I am so loving how my clothes are fitting better and how I can feel muscle developing under my decreasing flab. :)

I got the best Christmas present this week too...Notification that I will be doing my job from home starting next month!!! So no commute time = more exercise time & time to myself!!

DAY 5: Quick Trouble Zones - done.

This is the first time I've done the quick version. I liked it. I did do the last circuit before the cool-down as well. So I guess I did 1,3,4 and 7? I still burned 300 calories by my HR monitor.

This morning I also got a nice 'looking good' compliment from my fiance. That was nice and made the workout much easier.

Today I am working a half-day and then we see our daughter off to spend the weekend with her grandparents. So I'll have most of Saturday to myself since he has to work for a few hours. I love them both, but time to myself is well deserved.

Thursday-DAY 10 - QUICK TROUBLE ZONES-DONE

First time I did QTZ. I'm not sure I really cared for it....it just didn't challenge me. I think I may take my QTZ days and just do the whole tape. Today it worked due to some time constraint, but if I have the time, I think I will go longer.

Everyone is doing such an awesome job on this rotation!!

Schedule for the rest of the week:
Friday-DAY 11 - 30 DAY SHRED: LEVEL 2
Saturday-DAY 12 - BANISH FAST, BOOST METABOLISM
Sunday-DAY 13 - NO MORE TROUBLE ZONES
Monday-DAY 14 - OFF!

Day 19 - NMTZ, done!! I'm finding that this early AM thing works the absolute BEST for me! Honestly, with how much running around I did today and stress of the holidays, I would have NEVER fit it in otherwise.

Hope you all are doing well - I'll try to catch up tomorrow while I'm at work and not haunted by all of the holiday prep while at home. :)
