Finished week 2 of the slimdown! I had been kind of sick the past couple of days but I didn't give in and I pushed through the workouts! Man that was tough! Tomorrow is a rest day so hopefully by Sunday I'll be feeling better, rested and ready to blast out week 3! emoticon

Have a great weekend!

Just found this thread! I'm starting the Slimdown on Saturday. I've done the Shred a few times and love NMTZ. I've only done BFBM twice and it was awhile ago. I'll check back in once I've started...

I was thinking the same thing about the fact that she does the same leg! I didn't actually notice if she switches legs for the second set, but it probably makes sense to do it that way.

I was going to ask about those... am I the only one that does the opposite leg the second time? It seems like she does the same leg back first, which seems uneven to me!!!!:-)

Wow 3am workout- that's commitment!! Way to go!
I did day 11 today and it kicked my butt! (I think the fact that I can barely breath through my nose just made it that much harder :) )
And just a side note, I love NMTZ but I hate those "surrenders"! I understand why she calls them that, I feel like I want to surrender when I do those!! emoticon emoticon

I was supposed to do day 11 today (I did the whole NMTZ yesterday instead of the quick version) but I was really congested and had a bad headache + TOM, so I just couldn't get myself to do it... hopefully I'll be back at it tomorrow! I really want to stick with it and do the whole 30 days!

Day 1 down, day 2 tonight. I thought the Shred Level 1 would be much easier having done it before but that was not true, those interior raises and push presses really kick my butt! :-/

Way to go Sarah! I just finished day 10 and I'm really liking NMTZ! I haven't really noticed any changes yet but I have only myself to blame since my eating hasn't been very good the past few days. But I'm sticking with the workouts and I'm getting back on track with my eating so I know I'll see those great results soon!
Have a great week!

I am on Day 8. I really like it and I feel stronger. I still hate BFBM ;) I will love the day when that gets easier lol! I am already noticing some arm definintion and my midsection is shrinking. So glad I started! I have had these DVD's for a while now and I would never stick with them. I have noticed that I do better when I workout and have my own music playing in the background rather than listening to Jillian. It also doesn't make the workouts seem as repetitive.

Welcome Laura! That's really amazing that you're training for a marathon! I did a half and I can't imagine running twice that! And adding the slimdown challenge to it, wow! Way to go!

I'm on day 9 today. I really like the routine so far. But for some reason my calves are killing me today, they're not really sore, just really tight. Oh well, I'll just push through it!

During the first 10 days of the slimdown, I did feel like I needed more cardio, etc. except when I did the BFBM, of course. I added an additional Shred workout or I did Shred-it with weights. I didn't need it during the last part because of the double workouts. So, if you have the time and energy, go for it!

RFOSTER75- emoticon Congratulations on finishing the challenge!! You should be very proud!!

I just finished day 5 which was my first time doing BFBM! It was great! Some circuits were tougher than others, but overall it was a great workout! I think tomorrow I'm going to do NMTZ but the full version and not the quick one, but I'll see.

Also, I have a question. Have you all been adding cardio to your workout routine while doing the challenge? I haven't really been doing anything for a few weeks (I worked out a lot and ran but for the past three weeks I've been visiting my family back home and I haven't done any cardio since I got here), so I'm debating if this challenge is enough or if I should add more to it. Thanks!

Day 30 - NMTZ and I am DONE with the slimdown challenge!! It feels sooo good to have completed this challenge because it was hard. Not sure if I lost any weight (I am almost at my goal weight and trying to lose those last couple stubborn lbs). But I have a ton more endurance, stamina and strength. Also, my abs and my arm muscles are more defined.

I'm going to continue to do all of the DVD's and add the Jackie Warner Power Circuit DVD as well. The first time I did it I was so sore that I could barely walk so I know it will be a good addition to my routine.

Good luck everyone!!! emoticon

You're gonna love it! The first time I did Shred, I thought I was going to die. I could barely lift my arms to shampoo my hair afterward. Now, I look forward to my daily workout, and even though the last few days have been brutal, with two videos in a day, I'm actually worried that I'm going to miss Jillian a little when I'm all done with the slimdown on Thursday.

Not that I don't still want to reach through the screen and smack her around a little sometimes... :)

I'm so happy to see this thread!

I did day 4 of the slimdown today and tomorrow will be my first time doing BFBM! I looked over it today and it looks intense! I'm kind of nervous but really looking forward to it! I did the 30 day shred before starting this program and then I took a break for about three weeks so I kind of started all over again as far as my endurance. But level 1 of the Shred was much easier today! And I'm loving NMTZ! So sore!

Anyway, I'm glad I can check in with you all, it looks like you all are doing great!!! emoticon

Quick Trouble Zones is just the standing circuits--no mat work. Skip the core circuits, and the last one. I can't remember whether "quick" ends up being three or four circuits, but I usually just end up doing the whole thing if I have the time anyway.

Have fun!

Question: What is quick trouble zones? I'm supposed to do that tomorrow, and I don't think I saw this option on the dvd. Which circuits does the quick version include? Maybe I will do the whole workout anyway, but I'd still like to know what the quick version is. Thanks!

I'm taking a lil rest/water break between NMTZ and Shred L1, with just a few days left on the program. I'm so glad I committed to doing this, since I never thought I'd be the type to fit in a hardcore workout every day. It turns out with the exception of a few blips where I either left town or felt under the weather I am exactly the type. I feel way stronger and really confident about my abilities.

I can say I'll be glad to be done with it though, since I can pretty much recite these friggin DVDs word for word by now... :)

I think I have seen that one that incorporates the Yoga Meltdown. The one that I saw was called the Extreme Slimdown.

I may try that at some point. I think I'll freestyle it after this challenge and then maybe do the Ripped in 30 in May.

Thanks for the info :)

The fat blasting routine has the same DVDs but it adds Yoga Meltdown. Most days has two workouts on it. I'm trying to find the link to it because it has been awhile since I looked at it. If your interested, I could send it to you.

Did Day 27 and 28 this weekend and taking a rest day today.

Day 28 - NMTZ and Shred Level 1 wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. The first core circuit of NMTZ is still challenging for me.

Day 29 - BFBM, then Quick Trouble zones. Now this was HARD!! I was exhausted during QTZ but pushed myself through it.

Can't believe I only have two days left! emoticon

Yes, taking it one day at a time is definitey the best approach. Definitely treasure these times with your young ones!! My kids are 8 and 11 now and I miss those times they were really little and crawling all over me. Now they just watch me work out and joke about the girls on the video :)

Day 25 today and did Trouble Zones and Level 2. Was OK during Trouble Zones but was dying during level 2. Four more days to go!!

What's the Fat Blasting Routine?? I haven't heard of that yet...

It is REAL hard to do it on 5 hours of sleep thus why I'm not doing it again today! UGH....OH well. I think I'm gonna start fresh tomorrow. I will get through this!! Once my daughter gets a little older and on a better sleep schedule it should work out fine, but for now I will just take one day at a time! If you do the Ripped in 30 Days, let me know how it goes. I was planning on getting through this and then doing her "Fat Blasting Routine." So maybe after that I will do the Ripped in 30 days.

Day 24 was BFBM too and it was tough. I love the kickboxing circuits, but the core and plyo are BRUTAL!! I can't even imagine doing this workout on 5 hrs of sleep!! I only have five more "workout" days so I'm wondering what I'll be doing next. I was thinking Ripped in 30 or just a rotation of my JM workouts.

Well, yesterday I was suppose to do 30 DS Level 1, but it didn't work out. My daughter got her first shots yesterday and was not a happy camper. So, I decided I would do the BFBM that was scheduled for today and do 30 DS Level 1 on Sat which should be my rest day. BFBM killed me! I only got 5 hours of sleep, not straight sleep last night so 25 min into it I felt sick & light headed. I may finish this week and do week 1 again until I can finish the whole week as scheduled. Need to do what is best for me & my body! It is hard to do this with a 2 month old & 2 yr old. I think I need a sitter! LOL!

@ ILIKECACTI - Hang in there! It will get easier.

Day 23 done - Quick Trouble Zones today and it felt really good fast forwarding through those hardcore core exercises!! Decided to do Lvl 3 of the Shred as well. I was fine until Circuit 3. I just can't do those rockstar jumps for some reason!!

Holy cow. Just did the first 15 min of NMTZ- I totally feel the burn. I think I'm going to have to do this in a few chunks today and work up to doing the whole thing at one time. Whatever it takes to make me stick with it!

Did Day 3 today, NMTZ. I was not able to finish the full last circuit because of my kids, but I did almost all of it. It killed me!! It was really hard, but I feel great!

I switched days by taking a rest day yesterday (Day 21) and doing the BFBM (Day 20) today. It's getting a little easier, but the jumping circuit is still a killer for me. Nine days left!!

Day 2 down. I thought I would be a little sore, but I felt really good today!! Looking forward to do a little longer workout tomorrow with the NMTZ. Terra-I have been tracking them as circuit training. I thought I read that somewhere on here.

Started today! Proud that I did my 30 DS Level 1. I was going to do the regular 30 DS, but I get bored doing the same workout ALL the time. I like this version since you rotate 3 DVDs. Good luck everyone!

I modified the 30 day shred to 60 day shred with cardio days inbetween all JM's workouts. I didn't like all the strength training moves every day. So I'm officially starting today!!

In previous exercise attempts, I made it through level 2 of 30 day shred, but then work got crazy and exercise fell off. I loved the results I got though.

@ tara_eveland emoticon for starting the Slimdown!!

Did Level 1 and 2 today and it was pretty intense. After Level 1 I was thinking "this isn't too bad" and then in the middle of level 2 I was thinking "what the ?#$% have I gotten myself into?"

Am I the only one doing the Slimdown?? I could have sworn there were a few more. Oh well...

Completed Day 17 today - NMTZ and I'm starting to get a little burned out on this video since it's done so much with this challenge. Level 1 and 2 back to back tomorrow!!

Thanks for creating this thread!!

Day 16 slimdown done!! Today was Level 2 of the shred and it's definitely a lot easier now. Some great news though - I'm starting to see a "cut" right below my rib cage!! Could this be the beginning of a "six pack"???
