You'll do fine in no time! It's really tough the first day or 2 and then your body starts finding its groove. Good Luck!

I am starting Day 1 today! I did this slimdown over a year ago and had awesome results! I had to have surgery soon after and got off track. Totally ready to start over! If you find yourself getting bored after doing them everyday, try working out to your favorite tunes once you have a handle on the videos and don't need Jillian's instruction. I know this helped some other sparkers who were tired of hearing her repeat the same stuff over and over ;)

So I've decided I'm going to start this tomorrow. I've done Jillian's workouts on and off before but this time I want to do it properly. I've never tried levels 2 or 3 of 30DS. looks like a good challenge.

I'm starting the 30 Day Slim Down Program today. Any tips or pointers?

I just had my 3rd child in Nov & I'm finding it harder this time to lose the 20lbs I want off & to get the extra inches off my waistline. I was diagnosed with hypothyrodism in 2011 so that might play a part in it. I'm ready to get out of this funk I've been in, rev my energy back up, and get back in shape!!

Day 10 (NMTZ, which is my favorite) done! Also did some light extra cardio to get up to 400+ calories, which is my daily target.

I agree - it is all about individual targets. I also supplement with cardio. I used to double down on the 30-day-shred videos, but have stopped, as I developed shin splints (ouch!). So will take it easy from now on. (Slow and steady wins the race etc etc...:))

I think it's all about your daily goals. My HRM with QTZ shows over 300 burned. In my opinion, that's not bad for 30 minutes. On short days (like this would be), I tend to do a walking program I have which burns another 200 some or just go for a walk to burn the extra to get me up to 400-500 for the day which is my daily goal right now. On days with QTZ, I don't have to do much extra to reach that minimum. I tend to shoot for an hour working out which is plenty of time to hit my calorie burned goal range. On yesterday's BFBM, I burned over 500 calories with just this 1 workout, though admittedly I thought I would just fall over by the end!!

I haven't worked out yet today, but admittedly it is only 1:20 here on the east coast, and I work 3rd shift, so I just got up at noon. I may make today my day off instead of tomorrow because my back is sore, and I just have no energy. Maybe I just need some more sleep (didn't get much this morning). I might just go back to bed and sleep for a little bit more after finishing household chores and see how I feel.

Day 8 (L1 of the 30DS) done! Also did an old Ellen Barrett video and almost a mile with Leslie Sansone to hit my daily target of calories spent.

I seem to have the opposite problem - my HRM indicates that I need to do quite a bit of extra cardio to supplement any level of the 30DS, as well as even BFBM or NMTZ (a lot less, obviously, than Shred levels, but still...) Very strange!

I'm on my second week of this. Did 30-day lvl 1 on Friday. Since I hadn't done the 30-day shred before and I wasn't comfortable moving on to lvl 2, I did lvl 1 again on Saturday instead of lvl 2. Since I knew I would be out of town (visiting my son, daughter in law, and my new granddaughter) on Sunday, I did that day's workout as well, quick trouble zones. Today I also repeated lvl 1 instead of moving on to lvl 2. I am getting much more comfortable with this workout, so next week, I am going to bump it up and do the level 2 when it is called for, especially since day 18 calls for both of them back to back!

Tomorrow is BFBM and Wednesday is NMTZ.

I must say, I'm really enjoying all of these. Those quick trouble zone workouts are killers though. I'm surprised, that 30 minutes burns a ton of calories according to my HRM!! Much more so (average per minute) than anything else I've done since I got it at the end of January

Day 3 (NMTZ) done, with modifications, due to injury (no jumping jacks or surrenders - did jumprope and alternating lunges instead..) Had to do extra cardio afterwards, to get up to my daily goal of calories burned (aargh!!).

I'm doing a walking program for half an hour on the days with the shorter videos so that I can get in close to hour a day. It also seems like walking after these intense workouts helps with soreness somewhat. I still needed to take an extra day off this week after doing level 1 for 2 days. The next day I did NMTZ though instead of repeating level 1. Today was day 6 for me, and I thought about doing level 1 after quick trouble zones, but I was kind of sore, so I though walking would be a good way to get in the rest of my time. I'm just glad I got a heart rate monitor before starting this because my calorie burn is not the same as what was suggested to use for these videos. I really like knowing how hard I'm working during the workout too!

I have one more day left of the 30 day slimdown!! I actually had to take an extra 2 days off this wk as I just didn't have any get up an go..... emoticon emoticon
My body was achy and I just dreaded my workout... so I knew it was time to take an extra break!! Glad I did as I got through NMTZ all the way through with the weights, only had to tak just a couple breathers but way shorter then ever before. Just one more day and I'll have to throw together some workouts as I'm getting BR for Christmas!!! emoticon
I'm so ready for that challenge!!! emoticon

Great job on the progress! It's exciting when that happens! Whatever our results, just the fact that we are exercising thru the holidays is great. I would like to lose 2 more pounds by the end of the year to meet a personal goal. It's hard to lose weight during the holidays but I plan to make it happen!

Yes you are probably right on that!!! but if I do GREAT if not, I won't let it get me down.... just the progress in the first 1/2 of this routine is reward enough... This morning as I did day 23, I could feel my strength and how much I have improved/gotten stronger. I was doing NMTZ and only took quick breathers instead of having to stop in 4-5 different circuits. so YAY!!!! So excited and there is only a wk left of this.... so we shall see where it takes me!!!

Thanks! I'm taking the lunges a little slower this time around and focusing more on the form. I think that's helping. I figure I'd rather do them the right way, slowly, than trying to keep up with the girls and having poorer form. My knees are liking that much better!

I bet you'll see at least another 1 inch off, probably more. The last week of this challenge looks tough and I bet it gives some great results.

Sorry to hear about the knee issues..... I know this is a tough routine and there have been times where I thought my knees were never gonna get thru it...... but I have and hoping I can make it the next 9 days without any issues!!! Good luck on your journey and remember do what you can with pushing yourself but dont kill yourself in the process..... I know I have felt a couple times I pushed too hard!

That's awesome, great loss! Your 30 days will be over before you know it! I started the slim down Nov 1st but had to quit mid-way thru. I had been doing JM workouts for 2.5 months straight and my knees were crying uncle by that point. They weren't in sharp pain, but constant slight pain and it hurt to climb stairs. I took 13 days off to let them recover and I'm glad I did. I restarted the slim down on Dec 1st and really believe I can make it thru this time around.

Ok so..... I started the 30 Day Slim down on Nov 20. Wow has it been a tough workout but I'm extremely pleased & proud of myself for getting as far as I have. My biggest weakness is the BFBM, cardio kills me but I'm totally getting better. Today will be day 19. I can't believe how close I am to being done with this routine. I wish I could have taken measurements before I started this routine, but I didn't. I took them the weekend of Thanksgiving, which wasn't that bad. However, from last weekend to today when I measured I have lost 2 1/4". WOW I couldn't believe it!! I def feel the diff but to see that much of a diff in just a wk was astonishing!! I can't tell ya'll how proud of myself I am!!!

BFBM done today. Tough going today. Didn't do some of the moves. It's odd how one day you find a workout okay then a couple days later it kicks your butt!!! Hope to fly through it next time.

Day 10 today. I have mixed it up a bit due to extra days off. Yesterday I completed BFBM that I didn't get in last week. Today I decided on shred level 2. I waited about 15 minutes after finishing that then got stuck into tomorrows QTZ. Tomorrow I will do shred level 1 and hope after that I can keep to whatever exercise I have listed for each day. I know I am going to find the double workouts very hard. Not gonna beat myself up about it if I can't do them. 1 a day is better than none after all. Hope all the rest are getting on well with it :)

Didn't feel like doing NMTZ at all emoticon so I did a brisk walk outdoors for 30 minutes and then did Jillian's Yoga Meltdown level 1

Hi there!

I am new to the forum. I have noticed 30 day slimdown yesterday and decided to have a go.
Usually I do 3-4 session's a week together with my running 3 times a week. So for me it will be day 5. I think I will be doing Ripped in 30 instead of 30 Day Shred as I don't find it as challenging. Adding some Killer Buns and Thighs and 6 week Six-pack ( this is only one dvd which i can feel next day!). May be Extreme shed and shred - i haven't tried this one yet, received in the post this morning.
Would love to see great results soon.

Wish me luck

Day 2 for me today. NMTZ tomorrow and I think its gonna kill me! My thighs are done in already and my arms are feeling it!

In regard to NMTZ - on the days when it says NMTZ then its the whole 40 minute workout. When it say Quick Trouble Zones you just do the circuits that don't involve any floor work. So if they are on the floor skip that section! Hope thats clear.

ARGH for tomorrow! emoticon

Hi all,

I'm starting 30DS again for the first time in almost a year. I had tacked on NMTZ and BFBM and quickly began to hate it, so I quit... and gained a ton of weight :( So this month I'm just doing 30DS along with walking and bellydancing, and next month I'll do the full 30 Day Slimdown but with NMTZ and BFBM modified so I don't get to hating exercise again.

So today was Day 1 of Level 1 for me. I was sweating up a storm, let me tell you (funny thing is, I accidentally typed 'swearing'... and that is true too!!). I had to pause for breath during a couple exercises, and I have shin splints which made it very difficult to do jumping jacks and jump rope!

Hi, I am new to the team, I have just done day 1, the so day shred level 1.

Can someone explain to me about the no more trouble zone videos. I am using utube and it seems like there are different circuits. Do we have to do all the circuits together or just one??

Thanks

Hi , I am new here and started the 30 day slimdown I have a birthday coming up in 2 weeks and want to lose 20 lbs. I know I can't lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks but would like to at least start losing some of it.

I am using JM 30 day shred and Banish Fat Boost Metabolism also No more trouble zones, I double it with Leslie Sansone 3 miles or 4 miles or 5 miles after each workout.

Day 6 No More Trouble Zones + 1 mile jog.
7 5 miles w/ no weight
8 30day shred + 3 miles w/weight

Hi there!

It was actually really difficult for me to get through both BFBM and NMTZ the first time I did either of them. I had to modify like crazy lol. I believe I couldn't even finish BFBM even with the modifications (lady push-ups, less reps, water breaks, anything to lessen the pain on my hamstrings haha). Also the first time I did a double (half Quick NMTZ and 30DSL1) I was definitely dying by the time I got to 30DSL1 and had to pause at the end of a lot of the 2nd sets. But it gets better. I think the trick is to realize you're not gonna be able to get through them immediately, which is why slimdown builds up to the double ones. You can also pause and modify and then do better every week. Now I can get through the double ones (although my muscles are still screaming by the end of the 2nd one).

As for results, I honestly am not looking to lose a lot of weight, and it's always been difficult for me because I'm short, therefore don't have that much to lose (and have to eat the minimum amount of calories relative to everyone). But I lost 2 lbs the first week and have lost 5 lbs total. I have 2 days left of the slimdown. But my clothes fit a LOT better, and I went down 2 sizes (6 to 2). I also see a lot more definition in my arms and thighs, and have lost a lot of "jiggle". The most important thing I've noticed is I'm consistently losing weight, even if I normally go out on weekends and eat stuff I can't safely count the calories of (I still try, but who knows how many hidden extras there are).

Anyway, sorry that was a pretty long reply, haha! But hope you do well, and if you do modify the slimdown to do 30 minute workouts let me know if it works! I'd like to do something like that eventually.

Hi Amber,

Thanks for your reply. I have been doing the shred for 2 months and tried NMTZ and BFBM just one time each. I work terrible hours in work so it can be hard to fit anything more than half hour into my day for exercise. Yesterday I done level 2 shred and decided to try level 1 after it to see if I would be able. I am embarrassed to say I only done one set of push ups and one set of squat and press then gave up!!! Maybe I should wait another month or 2 to try slimdown!! Did you see much results from it? I'm sure you have. I have had great results from just the shred and I don't do it every day as is recommended.

Hi there!

It definitely gets crazy doing 1 hr - 1 hr 30 mins (towards the end) workouts. I'm about to finish the slimdown and I feel as though there are weekdays when all I can do is workout cook and wash the dishes. But the good thing about NMTZ and BFBM are I feel as though they hit some muscles that the 30DS videos do not (or at least, not as much). So, if you can't find the time to do the long ones, maybe splitting them in half and alternating them could be a good idea. NMTZ is already split into Quick TZ by just doing the first 30 mins, so maybe do the last 30 mins sometimes. A good split point for BFBM might be the ab/floor work. I guess just don't forget to warm up and stretch after. :)

Hello all, was thinking of trying this out soon. I have completed 2 rounds of the shred, not 30 days in a row but still it's complete to me!!! I have tried both BFBM and NMTZ and my only problem with them is the length. Do you guys find the extra working out time in this program hard to fit in? I am really hard on myself when I miss a workout and the 20 minute ones are way easier to fit in. Love to hear feedback :)

Hi! This is my first forum post... Decided to post on here today because I'm on day 20 of the rotation and supposed to do BFBM but I honestly so don't feel like working out tonight. I've just felt exhausted all day, in fact I've felt exhausted ALL week and every single day has me imagining Jillian yelling at me to go and workout. I'm not sure why I've been feeling like this, might be that I started doing real push-ups and not lady push-ups, or maybe coz of all the double workouts that started this week? Anyway, maybe ranting on here will give me the inspiration to do the workout today.

On the lighter side, yesterday I was able to do the vicious plank circuit without taking a rest :).

I am trying out the 30 Day slimdown except instead of the 30 Day Shred, I will be doing the Ripped in 30 since it seems more challenging and I like that the moves are not repeated. So Day 1 Ripped in 30: Level 1 is done today!

I finished Day 15 of the Slimdown today. It was 30 DS level 1 and Quick NMTZ. I didn't think I was going to be able to do it, but I did! The thing that I did notice is that my backside is smaller already.

I started JM's 30 Day Slimdown last week (Monday and Tuesday/ Day 1 and Day 2). I had to go to dinner wednesay night with BF's dad so no workout (I know, no excuse). Thursday I decided I'd take as my second day off. Friday I tried to do 30DS Day 3 (NMTZ) before work, but I didn't realize it's an hour. Saturday and Sunday I was a bum but weighed on Sunday morning and I was 3 lbs down so that was exciting. Im back up 3 lbs so I'm thinkin it's water weight. I will be completing Day 3 this afternoon after work. Keep up the good work ladies and happy Monday!

Second Day of Second week of slim down. 30 day shred level 2 baby! It was great and challenging, but I realized how strong I was getting being able to make it through with some ease. I did have to stop some on certain moves, but for the most part I was able to do it all. I definately still seeing some great improvements in my endurance and stamina. I am also seeing some muscle definition which is awesome! emoticon

Started the second week of the slim down program. Did 30 DS level 1 and it felt much, much, easier. It still gave me a little challenge, but I am feeling stronger and leaner, yey! I didn't stop during the jumping jacks and jumping rope, I pushed through like a pro. I really am seeing some good results in my body from doing this rotation. Love, Love, Love It!

Made it through a quick trouble zone workout. I did feel stronger than the first time and am definately seeing some definition in my arms. I am also seeing a diminish in my yucky dimpling (cellulite) on my thighs and rear. I know it probably won't all go away but at least be less visible. I am really liking this rotation, it keeps me from getting bored and its a good switch up for my body. I look forward to doing some of the other challenges and rotations after I finish this one. I may be about 1 month behind on the monthly challenges, but I do intend on doing them. I just about have all of the dvds to be able to do about all of the challenges so far. emoticon emoticon

BFBM, kicke my butt, but , it felt great. I did have to take some breaks here and there, but I am just glad that I did it. Definately feeling stronger and I am very motivated to stick with this. I know that I should get good results from the slim down rotation. I am feeling my muscles tightening already.

Well, after having to miss almost two weeks due to illness and other issues, I have started again. Days 1-3 are complete, today is Day 4. Hopefully I make it through the full 30 days this time.

The great news is that I can tell a big difference doing the NMTZ last night. I was able to make it through without taking a break, which I couldn't do last time around. Now, if only I can make it through BFBM without pausing, I will be really excited!!!

I just started the 30 day slim down today with 30 DS level 1. I also did 1 mile with Leslie Sansone this afternoon after work. I am feeling great and ready to blast these calories and fat away!. I have also counted my steps and calories with a calorie counter today at work and burned 357 cals at work and did 7007 steps at work. Then by added the calories from leslies dvd I burned 148 cals and stepped 2993. So I actually did my 10000 steps today and burned a total of 505 cal not counting the 30 day shred, Yey!!! I am ready to look good this summer in my summer clothes and bathingsuits. I am going to do this!

Day 5 was tough! I did Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism. Totally kicked my butt! Had to go at my own pace and modify some of the moves. But I made it through the whole workout and I felt so good after!!

Completed day 6 this morning! Today I did the 30 DS level 1. I am definately feeling stronger and able to keep up with the video so much easier. For the first time I was able to keep going through the jumping jax and jump rope part. I usually have to give myself a bit of a rest, but I was able to tough it out today!!
~~Just realized I was supposed to do Quick No Trouble Zones today... well I will either do it tonight or just do it tomorrow since its supposed to be a day off.

Day 2 complete! I am so proud of myself...today's workout was the 30 Day Shred level 1. I also did this workout yesterday for Day 1. I am so tired and my muscles hurt. Yesterday I was able to do pretty much the whole workout. Today was another story...there were some positions I couldn't do! But that's ok...I am sure by the end I will be a lot more fit than I am now! YAY!!!! :)

Made it through day 3. I did the No More Trouble Zones and was pretty apprehensive before starting it. Up until this point the only Jillian I have done is the 30 DS and she kicks my butt in those. I hadn't tried to double up on her video's, so when I saw that this was 40 min... I was a little scared. lol
But I made it through just fine. Totally kicked my butt! I was able to keep up and only had to modify some of the moves. On to day 4!!! Yay!

Well, thanks to a nasty cold that my daughter and I both have, I have not worked out since Monday. I am going to take the next couple of days off, and try to start again on Saturday. I am still trying to decide if I want to start over or pick back up at day 15.

L1 D3 and feeling awesome! I also work out tuesday and thursday at the gym at work running on the treadmill I am working my way up to a mile (I used to jog atleast 3 days a week but I havent done it in months). I used to be able to run more than that but Tuesday I could only for a half a mile but I realized after I completed it that I was runing a .5 mile at a speed that was faster that when I used to run so that is an improvement! Also Mon Wed and Fri there is a grp of us at work that workout together and do various other exercises ranging from pilates to cardio areobic so again I am feeling awesome its almost time for the afternoon workout. (Wed we do afternoons Mon and Fri its evening afterwork.)
