Day 29 done! I skipped yesterday since Saturdays are super busy for me. I'll tack it on at the end.

When I'm done this I'm going to start jogging again. I'll probably do the Killer Buns n Thighs and 6 Week 6 pack for strength days.

I am starting Day 1 today! I did this slimdown over a year ago and had awesome results! I had to have surgery soon after and got off track. Totally ready to start over! If you find yourself getting bored after doing them everyday, try working out to your favorite tunes once you have a handle on the videos and don't need Jillian's instruction. I know this helped some other sparkers who were tired of hearing her repeat the same stuff over and over ;)

I'm starting the 30 Day Slim Down Program today. Any tips or pointers?

I just had my 3rd child in Nov & I'm finding it harder this time to lose the 20lbs I want off & to get the extra inches off my waistline. I was diagnosed with hypothyrodism in 2011 so that might play a part in it. I'm ready to get out of this funk I've been in, rev my energy back up, and get back in shape!!

Day 10 (NMTZ, which is my favorite) done! Also did some light extra cardio to get up to 400+ calories, which is my daily target.

I agree - it is all about individual targets. I also supplement with cardio. I used to double down on the 30-day-shred videos, but have stopped, as I developed shin splints (ouch!). So will take it easy from now on. (Slow and steady wins the race etc etc...:))

I think it's all about your daily goals. My HRM with QTZ shows over 300 burned. In my opinion, that's not bad for 30 minutes. On short days (like this would be), I tend to do a walking program I have which burns another 200 some or just go for a walk to burn the extra to get me up to 400-500 for the day which is my daily goal right now. On days with QTZ, I don't have to do much extra to reach that minimum. I tend to shoot for an hour working out which is plenty of time to hit my calorie burned goal range. On yesterday's BFBM, I burned over 500 calories with just this 1 workout, though admittedly I thought I would just fall over by the end!!

I haven't worked out yet today, but admittedly it is only 1:20 here on the east coast, and I work 3rd shift, so I just got up at noon. I may make today my day off instead of tomorrow because my back is sore, and I just have no energy. Maybe I just need some more sleep (didn't get much this morning). I might just go back to bed and sleep for a little bit more after finishing household chores and see how I feel.

Day 8 (L1 of the 30DS) done! Also did an old Ellen Barrett video and almost a mile with Leslie Sansone to hit my daily target of calories spent.

I seem to have the opposite problem - my HRM indicates that I need to do quite a bit of extra cardio to supplement any level of the 30DS, as well as even BFBM or NMTZ (a lot less, obviously, than Shred levels, but still...) Very strange!

I'm on my second week of this. Did 30-day lvl 1 on Friday. Since I hadn't done the 30-day shred before and I wasn't comfortable moving on to lvl 2, I did lvl 1 again on Saturday instead of lvl 2. Since I knew I would be out of town (visiting my son, daughter in law, and my new granddaughter) on Sunday, I did that day's workout as well, quick trouble zones. Today I also repeated lvl 1 instead of moving on to lvl 2. I am getting much more comfortable with this workout, so next week, I am going to bump it up and do the level 2 when it is called for, especially since day 18 calls for both of them back to back!

Tomorrow is BFBM and Wednesday is NMTZ.

I must say, I'm really enjoying all of these. Those quick trouble zone workouts are killers though. I'm surprised, that 30 minutes burns a ton of calories according to my HRM!! Much more so (average per minute) than anything else I've done since I got it at the end of January

I'm doing a walking program for half an hour on the days with the shorter videos so that I can get in close to hour a day. It also seems like walking after these intense workouts helps with soreness somewhat. I still needed to take an extra day off this week after doing level 1 for 2 days. The next day I did NMTZ though instead of repeating level 1. Today was day 6 for me, and I thought about doing level 1 after quick trouble zones, but I was kind of sore, so I though walking would be a good way to get in the rest of my time. I'm just glad I got a heart rate monitor before starting this because my calorie burn is not the same as what was suggested to use for these videos. I really like knowing how hard I'm working during the workout too!

I have one more day left of the 30 day slimdown!! I actually had to take an extra 2 days off this wk as I just didn't have any get up an go..... emoticon emoticon
My body was achy and I just dreaded my workout... so I knew it was time to take an extra break!! Glad I did as I got through NMTZ all the way through with the weights, only had to tak just a couple breathers but way shorter then ever before. Just one more day and I'll have to throw together some workouts as I'm getting BR for Christmas!!! emoticon
I'm so ready for that challenge!!! emoticon

YAY.... after today's workout I have 2 days left!! I had to add 2 extra days off because I think my body needed it with how hard this workout is this last week and last week 12 hrs of Christmas shopping got in the way but thats ok!!! Can't wait to see what, if any, changes I have from 2 wks ago!!!

Great job on the progress! It's exciting when that happens! Whatever our results, just the fact that we are exercising thru the holidays is great. I would like to lose 2 more pounds by the end of the year to meet a personal goal. It's hard to lose weight during the holidays but I plan to make it happen!

Yes you are probably right on that!!! but if I do GREAT if not, I won't let it get me down.... just the progress in the first 1/2 of this routine is reward enough... This morning as I did day 23, I could feel my strength and how much I have improved/gotten stronger. I was doing NMTZ and only took quick breathers instead of having to stop in 4-5 different circuits. so YAY!!!! So excited and there is only a wk left of this.... so we shall see where it takes me!!!

Thanks! I'm taking the lunges a little slower this time around and focusing more on the form. I think that's helping. I figure I'd rather do them the right way, slowly, than trying to keep up with the girls and having poorer form. My knees are liking that much better!

I bet you'll see at least another 1 inch off, probably more. The last week of this challenge looks tough and I bet it gives some great results.

Sorry to hear about the knee issues..... I know this is a tough routine and there have been times where I thought my knees were never gonna get thru it...... but I have and hoping I can make it the next 9 days without any issues!!! Good luck on your journey and remember do what you can with pushing yourself but dont kill yourself in the process..... I know I have felt a couple times I pushed too hard!

That's awesome, great loss! Your 30 days will be over before you know it! I started the slim down Nov 1st but had to quit mid-way thru. I had been doing JM workouts for 2.5 months straight and my knees were crying uncle by that point. They weren't in sharp pain, but constant slight pain and it hurt to climb stairs. I took 13 days off to let them recover and I'm glad I did. I restarted the slim down on Dec 1st and really believe I can make it thru this time around.

Ok so..... I started the 30 Day Slim down on Nov 20. Wow has it been a tough workout but I'm extremely pleased & proud of myself for getting as far as I have. My biggest weakness is the BFBM, cardio kills me but I'm totally getting better. Today will be day 19. I can't believe how close I am to being done with this routine. I wish I could have taken measurements before I started this routine, but I didn't. I took them the weekend of Thanksgiving, which wasn't that bad. However, from last weekend to today when I measured I have lost 2 1/4". WOW I couldn't believe it!! I def feel the diff but to see that much of a diff in just a wk was astonishing!! I can't tell ya'll how proud of myself I am!!!

BFBM done today. Tough going today. Didn't do some of the moves. It's odd how one day you find a workout okay then a couple days later it kicks your butt!!! Hope to fly through it next time.
