I've been off with the flu the last couple of days and I was really scared that I would fail miserably today. However, I did rather well. I managed to keep up with both the up and down and the legs up/arm raises planks.
tomorrow will probably be a lot harder.

I'm getting real proud of my walking planks. It's still a fight. But I'm getting there.

as plank + leg raises = killer. Couldn't keep up with them today :( I hope I'll be able to do the whole segment before the 10 days are over.

my left wrist still hurts a little. I think it's because I'm putting to much weight on it during the push ups and planks :/

@Kellscans: the only tip I can offer is to take it easy with the knees. don't go too far down when you do lunges and squats (really try to go backwards as if sitting into a chair) make sure your knees don't track over your toes.

Hello all...I am on day 5 and my knee is starting to bother me. It isnt excruciating and I can totally work through it but I was wondering if anyone had an tips. Maybe a similar experience. I don't want to quit but I really dont want to hurt myself either.

day 7 - level 2. I'm starting to feel awesome :)

I don't know if it's a good idea to mix things up. I think the reason behind the level system is that you build your strength until you're ready for the next level. I'm not sure if I'm ready for level three yet. However, 3 days remain for my body to get used to the challenge and be ready for the next level.

Started Level 2 today even though Level 1 was still hard! I just wanted to mix up the workout. I got tired of doing the same thing over and over. I think it might be good just to mix them up so I don't keep getting sore in the same places, lol!

day 3 level 2. It's so weird. yesterday, I felt like dying but I didn't really need a break as in breaking the pose and taking 5 secs on my knees (I couldn't really keep up with the pace, though). Today, I needed a break twice. weird how your body behaves differently on a daily basis.

BUT I think my cardio has gotten better already. Skaters and twists is still EVIL but I think my skaters are getting more powerful ^^

Did my 1st day of Lvl 2 of 30-Day Shred yesterday. All of that jumping had me running to the bathroom a couple times! emoticon Why was I excited to get to this lvl? ugh. So hard!! But I feel so strong cuz I was able to do the full push-ups during the walk-out push-ups! WOO! 2nd day is today. My hands were so slippery with sweat yesterday that they kept slipping. I'll need a sweat towel today I think. emoticon

Hello, 1st day of level 2 for me this morning and WOW! Yes it's a big step up but it's much more interesting. Loved it although tomorrow I may curse the number of plank exercises included. I can't wait to be able to do a proper walking push-up. Good luck to everyone, Keep going!

For those of us that have done this before- I am adding this back into my routine to supplement my running. How exactly are you supposed to follow this program? How many days do you do Level 1 before moving to Level 2? Level 2 before you head to Level 3? Or if one doesn't seem like enough do you just double up?

Got sidetracked from workouts last night due to a SEVERE migraine. BUT hopping back on the horse tonight or tomorrow. Debating on either Zumba tonight and then starting Shred tomorrow as I got my strength training in this morning; don't want to overwork my muscles to the point of tearing. :(

I think I'll be on Level 2, Day 5 tomorrow. I haven't been doing the shred continuously, just every other day. I did do it 2 days running and found my arms to feel really weak the second day, I don't know how all you badasses do it! emoticon

Hello Everyone,

I am new to Jillian Michaels workouts. New to the JM team. Just finished day 6 for Shred level one. I did the first day without weights just to see what it was about. Days 2, 3 and 4 I did Shred level one with 3.3 lb weights. On day 5, I did Shred level one plus 10 minutes of her kick boxing cardio plus cool down. Today (day 6), I completed Shred level one plus the whole 20 minute boxing cardio plus cool down.

I never really did strength/weight training regularly before so I am finding the strength training to be harder than the cardio. I used to be a runner until I entered into my second trimester and had my first daughter. Since then, I have been finding it difficult to get out of the house to exercise. I think the JM home DVD program might just be the solution for me.

I have been getting up 45 minutes earlier to do the workouts before my daughter gets up.

In addition to the strength training, getting up early and exercising first thing in the morning is also a challenge for me.

Glad I found this message board! Good luck to everyone else!!

Hello! I am going to start the 30 Day Shred again tomorrow. Since I have done this before I am planning on doing Levels 1 & 2 for the first 15 days & Level 2 & 3 for the last 15 days. I might throw in one of her other workouts once a week just to change it up. This is in addition to my running program I am currently on.

Anyone out there looking for a work out buddy to keep tabs on each other? Let me know!

I am restarting the shred again today, I did Lvl 1 Day 1, I have done it a few times, and fallen off track a few times, working on getting back into my routine! Haven't used this group much but I do love the Shred workouts!

Every day no matter what happened the day before I will get up, dust myself off and start fresh!

L2 D6 done!

A bit late... I meant to resume 30DS two days ago. But, better late than never.

Also? Skipping these videos for a week, even with the packing / moving and tons of walking (including a day trip to the zoo!), is hell on the fitness level. Luckily, I maintained my progress with the arm strength (the planks) but I was out of breath the entire video! I did manage to do it though, so I'm proud of myself.

Checking in to stay accountable :) ... but I missed my workout today, and likely won't resume until Monday. Because of the upcoming move - I wasn't able to work it in before we had to pack up the last of the things. Tomorrow is the move; Sunday is all day at the zoo.

I'll be pretty active (and was today, also) so I should be okay. I will miss the videos though! I'll keep checking in to see how everyone else is doing.

L2 D....er... 5? Done!

Again, I didn't want to... knowing I have to get really dusty after my post work-out shower is a real drag. But, I did it, and I'm proud. Just a few more days and this moving thing won't be an issue - I just have to push to maintain my fitness regimen and it'll be so much easier on the other side!

I'm at that point with L2 where I'm getting better at it, so it is getting harder. Like, you know how at first you can barely do something, and there's that level of exhausted. But then you get stronger... but at first, that actually makes it harder! You're giving it more, your form is even better, maybe you're going a little faster, you're stopping less, etc. So that's where I'm at.

Planks! Progressing on those. I made it all the way through some of the reps with no pauses, and only minor pauses on some others.

Knees: I'm thinking that I have to stop trying to do the "thighs at 90 degrees" thing in my squats, as it's activating muscles closer to my knees and causing them to ache. As much as I want that extra burn, I may have to back off a bit. I'm getting lower in the lunges though which means I'm getting stronger there! (I'm maybe in between the two models in depth.)

Day 10 Level 2 Done! 1/3 of the way there! Yeah!

Wow, again so exhausted after this workout. Still legs feeling weak. It's ok though, I looked at my legs today and I see improvement. I will take it. If I keep this up I can imagine 3-6 months how much better my legs will look. Also loving the improvements on my core.

Not sure when I can progress to Level 3. Ah not anytime soon! Ha Ha!

L2 D4 done!

I sort of didn't want to today, because I knew I'd have to shower right after, then pack up the apartment and get all dusty again. But I'm really glad (and proud) that I did it anyway.

I'm still loving the way it works me! I feel pleasantly exhausted at the end - it's just the right amount of challenge. I did better at planking today but I do still take tiny breaks so I have room to improve. My lunges are getting a lot better - I can hold them more deeply, and my modification (instead of pendulum, just alternating legs w/ forward) is working well for me.

Today, I could feel all the work I've been doing in my obliques and triceps.

Day 9 Level 2! WOW I am so exhausted after this workout. Today all I could do was rest during the cool down. I was thinking I was in decent shape before I started this dvd, but now I don't think so.

I am using really light weights too. I typically can use 10-20 pound weights at the gym, but now using 2-8 pounds since you go from one exercise to another quickly. I think I can stay at Level 2 for awhile, since I can always up the weights.

Who knew this was going to be this challenging? Ha Ha! I kind of dread doing it, since it is so exhausting but I keep pushing through. I don't think the heat helps either though.

So, I did L2 Day 3 even though I hadn't planned on it! I had a super busy day with some fitness built in (walking, packing) and figured I'd not have time... but then I made time. I'm kind of proud of myself, because I'd already given myself the guilt-free "out."

I find this workout really challenges my arms, which is excellent. Proper planks are still hard... I still find myself creeping back from being directly over my hands, just because it's easier. I also find it harder for cardio, simply because I'm often exerting myself strength-wise as well, so I get tired. I get a much better high after than I did with L1 so it's a great level.

I also made the executive decision to stop doing pendulum lunges - I now to forward L, rest a beat to regain balance, forward R, repeat. This is because I am not able to wear shoes, and I am harming my knee when I step into the backward lunge - I just can't seem to land quite right.

Today will be my Day 2 of Level 2! (And Day 5 overall - I moved up fast because I've been doing other workout videos for 2 months leading up to starting Shred.)

My arms keep trying to push me into something similar to downward dog, which is so much easier than a plank. I'll have to get tough on them if I want to improve.

Level 1 day 1=complete!! I had to take a couple of short second breaks.. Couldn't do all of the push ups, and thought my heart was going to explode on the last set of crunches, but tried my best none the less. I will keep this up for 30 day and hopefully I will lose the max 20 pounds!!!

Newbie here... Day 1 of Level 1- DONE! lol...having an interesting time modifying some of the moves thanks to a bum wrist still healing...can't do push-ups unless I'm on my knuckles...of course I can't do many to begin with...hoping once strength builds up it'll all be easier!

Do it now- or do it never.
