I know it's October but here goes anyway.


10-10-10 goals
- Five 20 oz. Siggs of water daily
- Do scheduled exercise every day (rest days are scheduled, too.)
- In ten weeks, stay within calorie range 60 out of 70 days. This averages out to one "free" day a week.

Rewards
- Drink all water: I get to buy a new iPhone app (weekly)
- All scheduled workouts: new iPhone app (weekly)
- Stay in range 60 of 70 days - hour-long massage (at end of ten weeks)

Fitness plan for next week (8/22-8/28)

Sunday: rest day/light activity
Monday: Strength training & non-running cardio; visit chiropractor for some PT
Tuesday: Run (yoga if I make it home in time)
Wednesday: Strength training, non-running cardio
Thursday: Run & stretch class
Friday: Appointment with trainer
Saturday: free cardio day

I wrote out a strength training routine for Monday and Wednesday.
I've been eating an awful lot of baked goods and I'm starting to feel a little like a baked good, despite my gym time.
Nutrition goal: eat fresh fruit for an after-dinner sweet. I'm going out to lunch with my dad on Tuesday, and if the restaurant has home-made wonderful desserts, I will allow myself a free pass for that meal.

tracked yesterday and today!!!
found a calorie calculator on mcmillanrunning.com and it gave me 1391 cals to lose one lb per day. That's not alot so I gave myself another 200 or so to feed little Miles. I went a smidge over on fat today but right on in protein and a bit low on cals...maybe some cereal and milk later???we'll see if I"m hungry.

Good morning, all!
Nutrition goal this week is 70 grams of protein a day.

8/8: 135 (27.1% of daily calories)
8/9: 78 (18.8% of daily calories)
8/10: 81 (24%)
8/11: 78 (21.9%)

Went over my nutrition reports - since I have been adding more protein into my diet, the percentage of fat calories has gone down considerably. I have been eating the same number of calories, so it looks like I am replacing the fat with protein. Which is a good thing. It makes sense and seems kind of obvious, but I'm still excited by it!

Anne - I had to go back and check because holy moly, 135 grams *is* a lot of protein!
I had a can of tuna for lunch and lamb for dinner. The tuna had almost 30 grams in it; I can eat a whole can of it in a pita. I put some tofu in a smoothie today - I was nervous, I thought it would be kind of weird, but it was really really good. And it added 9 grams of protein to the smoothie!

Carrie-how on earth did you get 135 protein the other day? I am trying to get more protein, less carbs to help with menopause and I am lucky to get in my range. I know we talked before about greek yogurt. Any other suggestions?

I tracked my food today-went over in fat(no bake cookies) but with all the lean venison I ate the protein was where it should ideally be.
Also went over in calories but it's a lower range than what i"m shooting for-guess I should change that up sometime.

Sunday: 135 grams (I went over on the fat and calories, but geez, does lamb have a lot of protein!)

Gotcha on the coffee-I need a one cup maker as I only drink 1/2 -1 cup a few days a week.
Well...I tracked my food today: ALL 2000 calories!! HAHA!~! I'm stuffed but I had lots of veggies. I stayed inside perfectly in fat and protein-but was over in carbs. Probably not too badly though considering my range is posted lower.
Great job on all ofyou on striving for and achieving your goals. This thread is great!

Beth - I chatted with my SIL. They have had one for a few years now. Locally, your best bet is bed bath beyond because you can get the 25 pack variety for $10 for 25 and if you use their coupons it will cost less than that. BJs has them but you must be a member and you can't get the variety - you have to buy 80 of just one flavor. The other option is internet. It is a hunt and peck venture depending on sales and stuff. The advantage is that there are more flavors available online than at BBB. Hope that helps.

Anyone have any ideas where to get the K-cups cheap??? I had 4 coupons for Bed bath and beyond..so my maker for 199 cost just 159..saved 50 with all my coupons...I was happy..

Well my iphone no longer has week 5, so I did week 6 day 1.

A Keurig is a coffee pot that brews a cup at a time. Don't hate me, but I got one of the $130 3 cup size ones for $75 off a yahoo group along with 5 boxes of coffee! The coffee alone is worth $50 sale price at Kohls!

Beth-what is a Keurig?And wow!on the 3 6milers...
I have tracked for 2 days and started my 3rd now! I went way over my cals and fat yesterday but my range is 1200-1550 which is kind of low for exercising and breastfeeding. I went over 1800 yesterday.

My goal are to keep following my plan to keep the money going into my jar for my Keurig....I do have it inc in my blogs.....

Also---I need to get back to running..going to start with just 3 days/week...20 miles....
The above was the original plan...I am already changing things....

I am getting my Keurig today so I am going to keep putting money in the jar..just not sure what it will be used for.,..

Dropping my mileage to 18 for the week...I think its wise at this point...8 mile and 2 6's..is not smart IMO since I have had some time off from running....so 3 6 mile runs.....

I want to keep going w/ my C25K program. Was supposed to do W5D3 Monday but the weekend squashed that as I did a power sprint on Sunday then hurt my arm Monday.

Planning on doing W5D2 on Wed, then W5D3 on Friday.

Continuing on w/ my 200 crunches a day sit up program, in week 4 of that.

try again this month.....

goals:
calorie range 1500-1850
1 hr exercise 5 days a week
-8 lbs for the month (GW 200)
get back to running(8 mile by end of month)

8/3 (1 hr carrying and burning brush)
8/2 1464 calories (6hrs yard work and cutting trees down, don't know calories but busted my butt)
8/1 no track family reunion- 16.5 mile bike ride- 996 calorie burn

Did well yesterday for breakfast and lunch along with completing my cardio, ab work and strength training in the morning. Then it was all shot to hell by dinner time. We were having our real estate agents over to review paperwork so I ordered pizza and originally intended on eating only 2 slices since that's what my calorie counter allowed. Well, 2 turned into 4, but I'm not going to beat myself up about it. I'm pressing the "reset" button and ran my 3 miles this morning will continue on with the fight.

August goals. There are so many things to work on, but it's better to limit them, so.
1. Get back up to a 6-mile run
2. Brick work: 12 mile bike ride/5 mile run
3. Stick to the hundred push up challenge schedule

Well, the day went beserk(ended up at ER with an elderly friend for the afternoon)and I was famished by dinner time so I ate!!and ate!! Still under some on protein so will try to get something healthy in...have more room in calories,too.

I'd like to lose 10 pounds in August...preferrably 15 (I just gained 5 pounds of water weight, undoubtedly, over this last week while on vacation). I'd also like to get back into some sort of workout routine and finally (FINALLY) get back to running again. Granted it won't be much, but I'd love to start doing some interval training (walk/runs) again.

Add 1 minute to my run time and subtract 1 minute from my walk time...so I'll be attempting a 7 min run with 1 min for 4 intervals (5 if I'm feeling good). I've already increased speed and incline a little bit last week so know we work on time.

perfect-time for me to get back to food tracking. sooo...i will track everything that goes into my mouth at least 5 days per weeek. i know that will make me think twice about chomping on that cookie as if there's nothing but air in it.:)

1. Stay in calorie range Aug 1-22: 1750-2100. I am allowing myself two mulligans because I am taking my son to Pittsburgh to see a baseball game. Weight goal by 8/22: 185.

425 fitness minutes a week
lose a pound a week
65 grams of protein a day, increasing by five grams each week. Last full week of August will be 80g of protein a day.

Would like to drop 2 lbs/week and plan to do 2-3 workouts per day (2x cardio and 1x strength training) in order to facilitate that. Gotta balance that out with the proper fuel, though.
