so i started the month at 209 at one point got to 204 ended at 208. -1 is better than a gain. the weekends were a killer....

That coffee is smelling good already, Beth...

Yesterday, while I managed to stay away from the wine, was a very random eating day. I just grazed all day on whatever I could find. Bleh.
Next week's challenge is (I think) going to be something to do with my protein amount. Eggs and Greek yogurt, here I come!

As of 7/25--I now have over $15.00---put some change I had in my pocket in the jar...no money lost yet...

I know Carrie and Bobby read my new plan......I am adding 1$ to my jar if day I have no cheats...

Thanks to my friend Ellen in Florida..I have a new plan....

I am working towards getting a Keurig coffee maker....makes great tasting coffee...my plan to reach my goal...start with $10 in a jar....I get to add $1 each day I have no baked goods, cheez-its, or candy...I am allowed 1 free day/week...which will be on Sundays....and it will just be 1 serving..

If I decide to cheat on any other day...and it will cost me...I will have to give my hubby $5.00...

I can taste the coffee now....

My challenge for this week:
Stick to non-alcoholic beverages.

Even one drink makes me think I'm hungry - last night I had a glass of wine when I picked up my honey, and he wanted to get some sushi. I had dinner already, but I still managed to eat a sushi roll. Bleh.

This will be a very challenging challenge - I am going to see a friend of mine play at a pub on Wednesday night, but I can do this!

Stayed within calories today, even with a crazy cereal afternoon. I guess I just can't have cereal in the house... it's too much for me. Sigh.

Got tons of protein in, in the form of grilled chicken. Yum! Great workout tonight. Rest of the week - stay within calorie range, NO CEREAL. It's my gateway drug.

I have been struggling with eating too many sweets and lots of mindless eating(almost binges...)..I am going to keep track here of my ups and downs...

7/21--tracking best to my ability..in range...
7/20---in range...
7/19--in range....
7/18----in range!!!
7/17----in range and pretty good choices...
7/16----yep, vacation=over on calories....
7/15---just over---hope to do better Friday
7/14---over and a frosty after dinner....
7/13---under calories and no sugar!!

GOING SUGAR FREE STARTING 7/13---no candy or ice-cream or baked goods!!!

7/12---in range....

7/11--in range, but choices could have been SO MUCH BETTER...darn gummy bears and pop tarts...

7/10---was in range..pretty happy with my choices..
7/9--was in range..didn't make the best choices....
7/8---I was under today...but it beats being over...

~~Lets see if I can be in range more then 1 day~~

Last night I threw out some cake and pie slices. Just can't have them around.

Today's nutrition goal - track all food and stay within range.
Fitness - go to "Butts and Guts" and "Power Yoga" classes tonight.

YAH!!! I am back again today have already logged some points and went for a jog with my daughter ;-) She's 12 and lets say wasn't excited but I told her we needed mom to keep her sanity and the only way it is accomplished is running :-) So.. 4.5 Km later she decided we should buy her some running shoes!!! YAH!!!

July 1 - 14 Challenge: Stay within calorie range - 1,760 - 2,110.

Successful 12 out of 14 days. The only two days over were a special outing for the family to a baseball game and a big extended family picnic with lots of great food. I'll accept that.

I have noticed a change in not eating after 10pm, my tummy is flatter in the morning and my weight is staying more stable! I'm thinking this is a good thing! LOL

I have been struggling with eating too many sweets and lots of mindless eating(almost binges...)..I am going to keep track here of my ups and downs...


7/15---just over---hope to do better Friday
7/14---over and a frosty after dinner....
7/13---under calories and no sugar!!

GOING SUGAR FREE STARTING 7/13---no candy or ice-cream or baked goods!!!

7/12---in range....

7/11--in range, but choices could have been SO MUCH BETTER...darn gummy bears and pop tarts...

7/10---was in range..pretty happy with my choices..
7/9--was in range..didn't make the best choices....
7/8---I was under today...but it beats being over...

~~Lets see if I can be in range more then 1 day~~



7/7---let myself down.....OVER!!
7/6---way over...ugh!!!! Make this up to myself tomorrow!!!
7/5--in range and no mindless eating

that all sounds good but you need to get outside more to run, it is much different than the TM. i would also not push too hard on your first race, 70 min is pretty quick.

Today I changed my goals to reflect a 1.5 hopeful loss per week instead of 2. This changed my calorie allotment, so I'll be tracking my food again (I took a week of from that since I was so used to my intake and was always within range).

I also ran outside for the first (real) time today and will be making it AT LEAST a weekly routine.

I switched up my workout DVDs for the month of July, doing 3 days of strength training and 2 of cardio (on my off-running days).

My 10K is July 24th. I've never run one before, but I think a good goal for me right now is under 70 minutes. I think that's good for only being a 3 month old runner :)

beth yes i am considering that but i want to get 2 weeks in of better eating with lower calories then plan on upping it. i will eat 50% of the calories i burn starting next week. so if i burn 500 calories i will add 250 extra to my base range. well see.

goals: calorie range 1500-1850, 1 hr exercise 5 days a week, -10lbs for the month

7/1 1644 calories -1.35 mile walk, 150 calorie burn
7/2 1820 calories -12 bike, 802 calorie burn
7/3 2418 calories -6 bike, 1.4 walk, 15 min swim 708 calorie burn
7/4 2342 calories - 20 min swim, 54 min bike 1300 calorie burn
7/5 1635 calories - rest day
7/6 1735 calories - 21 miles on the bike 1400+ calorie burn

I have been struggling with eating too many sweets and lots of mindless eating(almost binges...)..I am going to keep track here of my ups and downs...

7/11--in range, but choices could have been SO MUCH BETTER...darn gummy bears and pop tarts...

7/10---was in range..pretty happy with my choices..
7/9--was in range..didn't make the best choices....
7/8---I was under today...but it beats being over...

~~Lets see if I can be in range more then 1 day~~



7/7---let myself down.....OVER!!
7/6---way over...ugh!!!! Make this up to myself tomorrow!!!
7/5--in range and no mindless eating

7/4--seeing a trend here...OVER!!
7/3---over on calories...choices could have been better.....get me through the 4th and time to buckle down...
7/2--over on calories, but did pretty good on the sweets today...
7/1---too many vanilla creme cookies at work...3 servings worth...bored at work(it was SLOW...)edit to add in the 4 pop-tarts I had at 200 calories each..yep, way over on calories..

Goal -- No eating after 10pm for the month of July!

xx 7/1-made this goal at midnight while eating pringles.
7/2--nothing after 8:30pm...woo hoo...I should go to bed now
7/3- nothing after 9:5pm.. Also committed to staying in or close to my calorie range. I want to lose these 4 pounds before my HM on August 1st.
7/4 - finished a bowl of chicken soup at 10:10 after waking up from the couch (allergies were really the beginning of head cold) so nothing after 10:10 mainly because I was back in bed by 10:30!! I hate being sick!
7/5 - had a few grapes after 9:50.
7/6 - nothing after 8:30 but way way over on calories...I mean, as Anne would say....KABOOM!
7/7 - nothing after 9:30, but still went over in calories...wondering if it had to do with the long run this morning?
7/8 - nothing past 9:50 AND stayed in range!!
XX 7/9 - Well, tonight was a bust since we just finished dinner at 10:30....back at it again tomorrow.
7/10 nothing after 10pm

Goals: I will stay on track with loosing 1 pound per week by:

1. Doing walk/run interval training at least 3-4x per week and meeting my caloric burn of 1120.

2. Doing all my Strength Training.

3. Eating right, that is staying in all my limits on the nutrition tracker and entering everything in every day.

My other goal is to reduce my body fat % and loose some off my waist. Good luck everyone!

Well there was absolutely NO tracking at all this week. It started on the 4th at the picnic and lasted all week during my trip to Portland. I don't even want to guess at how many calories I had... *but* I walked a TON in the city.
Next week - track what I eat! Maybe tomorrow I will actually get on the scale just to see what I'm working with...

Beth - I have an unfair advantage. I teach for 12 hours with little breaks. I make sure I don't go to our little cafe and the only food I have is what is in my desk or what I bring with me (avoiding the vending machines like the plague)...and I admit, I save up my some calories and treat myself each night.

goals: calorie range 1500-1850, 1 hr exercise 5 days a week, -10lbs for the month

7/1 1644 calories -1.35 mile walk, 150 calorie burn
7/2 1820 calories -12 bike, 802 calorie burn
7/3 2418 calories -6 bike, 1.4 walk, 15 min swim 708 calorie burn
7/4 2342 calories - 20 min swim, 54 min bike 1300 calorie burn
7/5 1635 calories - rest day
7/6 1735 calories - 21 miles on the bike 1400+ calorie burn
7/7 1315 - 8 mile bike 1100 yd swim 800 calorie burn
7/8 1591 - REST DAY!!!!
7/9 will load up a little for tri saturday
7/10 tri 400 swim, 7.5 mile bike, 5k run or walk or both

Frank--you are my hero---teach me!!!! I had a 1 day streak in range....LOL...this is bad...



I have been struggling with eating too many sweets and lots of mindless eating(almost binges...)..I am going to keep track here of my ups and downs...

7/1---too many vanilla creme cookies at work...3 servings worth...bored at work(it was SLOW...)edit to add in the 4 pop-tarts I had at 200 calories each..yep, way over on calories....

7/2--over on calories, but did pretty good on the sweets today...

7/3---over on calories...choices could have been better.....get me through the 4th and time to buckle down...

7/4--seeing a trend here...OVER!!!

7/5--in range and no mindless eating
7/6---way over...ugh!!!! Make this up to myself tomorrow!!!
7/7---let myself down.....OVER!!

Goal -- No eating after 10pm for the month of July!

7/1-made this goal at midnight while eating pringles.
7/2--nothing after 8:30pm...woo hoo...I should go to bed now
7/3- nothing after 9:5pm.. Also committed to staying in or close to my calorie range. I want to lose these 4 pounds before my HM on August 1st.
7/4 - finished a bowl of chicken soup at 10:10 after waking up from the couch (allergies were really the beginning of head cold) so nothing after 10:10 mainly because I was back in bed by 10:30!! I hate being sick!
7/5 - had a few grapes after 9:50.
7/6 - nothing after 8:30 but way way over on calories...I mean, as Anne would say....KABOOM!
7/7 - nothing after 9:30, but still went over in calories...wondering if it had to do with the long run this morning?
