HOW MUCH DO YOU KNOW ABOUT FIBER?
Most of us have heard that fiber is good for you, but how much do we know about it? Can you correctly identify which foods below are fiber?
ANSWERS: kidney beans, oranges, green beans,& peanuts
Pictured below are examples of food that has fiber in it:
Other forms of fiber are: whole grains, potatoes, granola bars (look at the label, some granola bars are unhealthy)nuts,chick peas, pinto beans, black beans, whole grain bread & pasta, corn meal, bulgur, brown rice, rye, & barley.
* look for look for bread with whole grain flour, such as 100% whole wheat flour or stone ground whole wheat flour, listed as the first ingredient on the label.
