It was especially helpful last year when the doctors could not figure out what was wrong with me. I kept checking different things and ruling them out. It helped me describe what was going on and gave me some clues for treatment. I have continued to get well over the last year with Spark People help. I lost my insurance just six months after I got sick. So this was a blessing. As long as I continue to heal I will wait to go to the doctor.
I like to keep track of my physical activity. I don't always care too much about tracking what I eat; my physical condition is much more important to me that specifically how much weight I carry. I find I do more things that require greater energy; whether doing things at a higher pace or substituting activities that burn more calories in the same time frame. This plus what less significant changes I have made in eating habits is the key to my weight loss which is around thirty pounds since last winter..
I thought if we started listing the different things and why we like them, we might be able to learn from each other.
I like posting on the threads and meeting new people from all over the world. The reason I like it is because, I always wanted a pen pal from Austalia when I was a child. I had several pen pals from 4-H tours, Church outings and vacations, but none outside the Western States. It is fun reliving that aspect of my childhood.
