It's just me and my husband so we generally eat at the coffee table in the living room or in the kitchen. Like CATINCJ my dining room table has been moved into storage. I have my loom sitting where the table used to be.

We got rid of our tables (except for the picnic table, stored in the garage).
We sit together in the living room or sunroom for our meals. We decided not to have tv so we would have more time together to talk, read, etc.

I love the butternut squash soup, especially this time of year. I should learn how to make it.
Ate at the table for breakfast, ate standing up for lunch and need to eat dinner yet.
at the computer desk, at the dinning room table and sometimes on the patio table

LOL Well, lets just work on habit substitution. Pick your most comfy chair and cuddle up there with your food. Just keep your attention on the food. I too am guilty of eating everywhere again. Glad you responded to this thread to remind me to pay attention to my food.

All the wrong places. At my desk at work, in the living room, in the craft room. Something I need to break. According to 'diet' researchers and docs you should have an eating place. Like the kitchen or break room. When you eat in your everyday hang out places, like your desk, your brain associates these places with food. GREAT now I've identified ANOTHER habit I need to break!! LOL Thanks guys!! HAHA!!

I do what works for me: which is to eat in front of the TV. I measure out my meal and take mindful bites. As I'm chewing I enjoy a good program. I find that if I try to eat without a mild distraction I eat far too quickly and more than I wanted to because my mind wanders and then I realize I didn't actually enjoy eating. Then I start craving more food, even if I'm full! Definitely figure out which way works best for you so eating is enjoyable.

I thought so. This slapped me in the face. I tend to eat in front of the TV, computer and while driving. I have to work to eat in the kitchen.
Be Mindful The kitchen will work, too. Why? Because experts believe that eating in the kitchen or dining room, rather than the living room in front of the TV or the office in front of the computer, will help you focus on your food -- not what's on the screen. And that's important, say a growing band of researchers. They suspect the real culprit in the growing obesity epidemic may be a bevy of bad behaviors that fall under the category of "mindless eating." It's a distracted kind of eating, where people focus on something other than their plates and, as a result, don't notice when their bellies are getting full.
