Useful list. I have to say, I do use aspartame tablets in the 2 cups of coffee a day I have. Can't abide saccharin though. I have tried stevia, I think it's a brand called Truvia, and it's less sweet than sugar, not more. Also, I haven't got used to the after taste yet, and it's a lot dearer than sugar, so only used for the coffee. I know I really should give up on sugar, I'm sure it's utterly addictive, and I'm also pretty sure it's what makes me feel dull and stupid most of the time, as well as giving me (very stinky) gas!

Please don't misread my motive. I appreciate that you shared the chart but I looked up the total calories for some of these things. 1 cup of sugar has 774 calories, 1 cup of dates isn't that much less. Maple Syrup & Brown Sugar have more calories than sugar. What's wrong with sugar? I like maple syrup, brown sugar but it's not going to help lose any weight by eating them.

Thank tyou for sharing this link. I just expermented using dates in my brownies and actually felt satisfied when eating them. The other brownies seemed to be addicting and I kept eating and eating, but I made black bean brownies and one serving was sufficient to satisfy my craving for something sweet. I like how this chart tells how to use the alternatives
