I have to have a minimum of 6.5 - 7 hours of sleep to work out in the morning. I get up at about 10 till 5 and get to the gym about 5:20. My motivation and this is truly what keeps me motivated is having my evening free. I don't know how many times I hated and resented going to the gym in the evening because it would take up half my evening it was way more crowded and I'm just plain old tired after work.
To sum it up: Get enough sleep (it will still take some training to get used to though) Have everything ready to go the night before so you just get dressed and walk out the door to exercise. Find what motivates you to go to sleep and get up early.

I workout at 5am also - go to gym. Honestly, you have to go to bed with the self determination of doing it. Especially until it becomes habit. It took me about a month. I've done it for more than 2 years.
Do a search on morning workouts - there was once a HUGE LONG thread on this where everyone typed in their tricks and tips. It was a linked thread on the emails.
I will be running or working out at 5 o'clock in the morning to ensure I get my exercise in for the day, because my afternoons are usually busy. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to be/get motivated for a morning workout! And I do this at home, so I dont have to go to a gym. Any suggestions are wonderful! Thank you!
