I have to have a minimum of 6.5 - 7 hours of sleep to work out in the morning. I get up at about 10 till 5 and get to the gym about 5:20. My motivation and this is truly what keeps me motivated is having my evening free. I don't know how many times I hated and resented going to the gym in the evening because it would take up half my evening it was way more crowded and I'm just plain old tired after work.
To sum it up:
Get enough sleep (it will still take some training to get used to though)
Have everything ready to go the night before so you just get dressed and walk out the door to exercise.
Find what motivates you to go to sleep and get up early.
