I've found that lately I've not been as physically flexible as I used to be so today the kids and I "raised the roof" LOL We stretched as far as we could to hold up the roof and then "OH NO! FAST! The walls are coming in!" We stretched our arms out to the side to keep the walls from coming in and then "WHAT?! The floor is trying to come up?!" We bent over and pushed the floor down lol We did a lot of goofy things like that to try to stretch The kids had fun and I got a little workout :)
I too love the idea of playing with the kids as exercise, we dance, go for walks & play catch in the yard. This is a wonderful time of the year for outside activities.
Be the best you can be every day!

That's great! I love that you ladies are getting in your exercise while you're working!!
What's real cool is when you go into the fitness minutes log here on SP there actually is a category for Playing with Kids LOL Love it!
OH I've taken the kids out in the stroller a few times now. Not as often as I'd like because one day it will be in the 60s and then the next it will be back down to the low 40s UGH BUT you've inspired me and I'm getting it lol
My childcare is attached to an elementary school so we have full use of the gym. I take the kids down every day and we start our play by running laps in the gym. I run with them. They LOVE it when they 'beat' me! After several running laps, we skip, hop, jump, tip toe, float and whatever fun thing we can think up. I do all this with them and they don't even realize that I'm sneaking in my fitness minutes! After our laps they get to free play and I continue walking around the gym. It's easy to keep an eye on things and a few of the kids even walk with me. I still do a regular workout routine at home but it's great to get in the extra time with my kiddos!

Oh I do understand.
Sometimes my meanings don't come across well in print and when I just reread what I wrote...I sound kind of stank lOL
I'm sorry :(
When I mentioned one of my pet peeves...I am never bothered by childcare providers doing that, especially if they have multiple children of varied ages. I had meant just out and about seeing children with their parents.
In fact, after giving some thought to what you have done...I'm thinking of wiping down the double stroller (I keep it in the garage) and since my numbers will be lower this week, we might take a daily stroll around the block. That's no where near what you've done...but it's a step in the right direction :)
I only do the stroller as a saftey precaution. Whenever we get to a playground though they are off and running.

WOW!!! @ your elyptical time!!!
After I get to about 20min I have to continually bargain with myself and convince myself that I'm not dying in order to complete the 30 minutes :(
I love that you guys did the mile.
Starting Monday my numbers are lower UGH (I do an in-home program as well). I graduated a little boy on Friday from preschool and he'll be spending the summer with his grandmother. The children I have now are a 13mo., 17mo., 2.5yr old and two 4yr olds (one of which is mine). The two four year olds could do the walk, especially mine, but the others smh no lol
I have a double stroller but I rarely use it. My pet peeve is seeing children in a stroller when I'm out and about and I know those children can walk lol My own son wasn't allowed back in the stroller once he started running. That was proof to me that his little legs were strong :P
I know it's fine to have them in a stroller if you're trying to get your heart rate up :)
Yesterday (Monday June 7th) I did 35 min on the eliptical and spent 30 min in the sauna. Then came home with my kids and my daycare (I run a in-home daycare 24/7) kids and we walked a mile in about 14 min while I pushed a stroller.
(Sunday June 6) I did 65 min on the eliptical, then did 20 different weight machines (I even did 200 pounds on the leg press) and then came home and went walking with my kids.

Hi! Do you operate an in-home program?
I loooove that the "my fitness" offers a calories burned count for playing with kids LOL Made me feel so much more productive
I have started giong to the alaska club gym 3 times a week. I will be srarting isagenix next week. Sometimes I play tag with the daycare and my kids, depending on how much snow we have and how the toddlers are doing. We still have 8 inches of snow outside. I am planning on taking the four kids out for a walk this morning before lunch so they nap well. I also play mousercise videos for the kids just wish I could find a few extra episodes from mousercise cause the kids beg and beg to do it.

No workout for me today, fell off the workout wagon a couple of weeks ago but I have plans to hop back on tomorrow.
