Gloom is everywhere, if one looks for it. Rather than looking to avoid gloom I think we benefit when we put the bellows to the positive within each of us and put that out into the world. As I like to paraphrase Mohandas Gandhi: Be the SPARK you want to see in the world!
If one tells oneself "what can I do to not be gloomy?" the hidden message can be: "oh, I must be gloomy, that must be what my nature is." For example if I try to think about anything BUT a pink elephant in my kitchen, it becomes WAY difficult to have anything in my mind's eye but that stupid pink elephant in my kitchen.
So, in that spirit, now that I'm freshly returned from a wonderful week of cycling 'round Cape Cod, what can WE do to pay our Spark forward and be the SPARK we want to see in the world?
I didn't know about the movie idea, which is cool, but it's kind of tricky to interact and be active during a movie so what other ideas might we pull together for a SparkGathering?
How about an end-of-summer pot-luck meet 'n greet gatherings at one of our gorgeous local parks where we might go for walks, hikes, perhaps even kayak (not sure if Dorchester has pulled their kayak rentals yet)...? My local favorite parks are Dorchester and Chenango Valley State Park, but I am WAY open to other suggestions.
I am open to ideas...let's spin a few and see what we can come up with!
