Treadmilled it this morning...was surprised to find myself dragging my feet about doing it after skipping it only one day to ride my bike instead. But I pushed through and got 'er done!
I think we ought to move New Years' Day to Labor Day...as it truly feels more like the beginning of the year than any other time! And yes...the waning of summer both is a downer, but yet, prods me to making the most of any decent weather that comes our way!
Have a healthy/well, lively, stupendous, blowout weekend everyone!

I am wondering if you just log your exercise minutes under your "fitness", does it appear on the team's goal or do you have to log your exercise minutes under team goals to make it apply to the team's August goals? I don't always understand the ins and outs of this website.

One of the good things about client cancellations (shhh, don't tell 'em...lol!) is that I can slip on home and nab some extra time on my bicycle! Which I was able to do yesterday! :-)
Did my 35 mins./2.4 miles/420 cals. on the treadmill this morning. Hoping to get more bicycle time in tonight if something doesn't de-rail me...
Tomorrow I thought of a nifty way to work in extra bicycle time: I have to drop our minivan off at Monro's on upper Front St. for oil change etc. Usually we have to do this clunky arrangement where I take another family member along in a 2nd vehicle and have them bring me home and then bring me back when it's done.
If Mother Nature cooperates (and it looks like it may be a close call...cross your fingers!), INSTEAD what I plan to do is to load my bike up in the mini-van and drop the car off in the morning on my way to work and BIKE the remaining miles (perhaps around 5?) to work and after work bike back to pick up my car...voila! I've got my bicycle time in PLUS I'm being green by minimizing all that 2nd vehicle dosey-doe!

Must be something in the air - I was kind of a slug last night. Took the dogs for their walk and then opted for low impact activity like going thru the last weeks worth of junk mail - MAN!!! where does all that crap come from. And these days you have to shred EVERYTHING and that takes so much longer than just tossing it in the trash.
ok I am done whining for the morning - ha ha
Have a great day everyone!!

Ugh - such a crazy week! Between registering at the new schools, CSE meetings for oldest, doctor appointments, football signups for youngest, and back to school shopping, I've had very little time for anything. My co-worker is on the second week of her 2-week vacation, so I'm putting in longer hours at work again this week. I need a vacation! One that involves biking, swimming, hiking, and luxurious spa treatments afterward. At least I got some swimming in this weekend. It may be another couple days before I can get a real workout in!

ran my 3rd 5K this morning = imagine my surprise when I beat my previous time by 53 seconds!!!! Especially since I wasn't even going to run it. I twisted my knee Thurs. playing VB and I practically had to hobble up and down stairs, even regular walking was causing some pain. I warmed up for about a half hour before we were to start and I told my hubby and BF that I didn't think I could do it. I went to try another short run and when I got back they were gone - I found myself heading to the starting line. I told my BF that I would run out to Main St (starting a little before Rec park on Beethoven) and then decide if I could go on. Finished the whole thing without any walking and had my best time yet. I am SO excited!! Watched a bit of the bike races while their - THOSE GUYS ARE NUTS!!!!
Now a little rest, hang out with the mutts and then off for some volleyball later. Gotta get the most out of these beautiful days as possible!!
I hope everyone is enjoying their day!!

Nailed a glorious bike ride up Route 12...nice wide shoulders north of Chenango Forks...almost made it to Greene, but there was a tent revival thingy going on and police were hogging the shoulder so I thought I'd better turn around...getting a tad on the darker side too with the hills blocking the lowering sun.
Loving my bike! :-)

SIXTY mins. this morning on my treadmill, which felt great...used to do 70-80 mins. a day on weekends before the mono diagnosis. Had backed off to 40-45, but wanting to pick up the pace again.
Hopefully will get out on the bike before evening arrives!

Got to state park for an hour of biking yesterday...woo hoo! I blogged a bit about it if you want to catch up with that.
As I'm interested in speed and whizzing along, I don't use the dirt trails, with the exception of the one leading from the beach area into the golf area that follows the creek...used to walk my dog along there. Otherwise I go around the perimeter of the park and up and down the long road leading from the park to 369. I circle through the two cabin areas...fun hills up in the 1-19 cabins! It's a bit thrilling and scarey both to streak down those hills with all the gravel around....lol. I try to be super cautious...as just like those Olympic trampoline athletes...one wrong mis-cue and a body could get pretty messed up!
Anyhow, it was a terrific hour, wrapped up by watching the sun go down behind a hill around 7:15.
Got my usual treadmill routine in this morning, 36 mins., 2.5 miles, 420 cals.
Hoping yet again to head out on my bicycle tonight!

I'm ashamed to admit I haven't been on my bike since my big ride on the 9th. Last week my legs were recovering, and this week I just haven't had a chance yet. Almost went yesterday, but we're trying to squeeze in as much pool time as we can before they close. Hopefully today!

It's like you read my mind about winter -- for the last two days I've been looking at snowshoes online! The kids and I were looking over the Greenwood trailmaps (we might try to squeeze in a visit this weekend) and talking about the things we can do there in the winter months.
Congratulations on your awesome streak!

Thus far this month I have only missed ONE day of cardio, and that was due to traveling back from MI for 12 hours. On the way out, tho, I DID manage to hop the treadmill after the 12 hour drive!
So it's been a pretty streakin' month. I've been annoyed with myself for not having gotten on my bicycle since getting back from MI on 8/12. *Stuff* keeps getting in the way!
Now that the days are getting shorter, I'm really feeling the pinch of getting my outdoor FIX! Definitely thinking of getting out this winter and renting some cross country skis or snowshoes to keep up outdoor activities.

A busy weekend crowded out time to get on my bike and I'm feeling cheated! Got my usual treadmill time in along with *some* mowing of the lawn yesterday...at least until I hit that ROCK which had fallen off our stone wall, unbeknownst to me! Killed my mower...bent the blade terribly...ugh! Anybody have a sickle? :-)

Oh my, well my life has definitely been getting in the way of me staying on track with my workouts and even logging my food. I have had a lot of unexpected traveling this last week which puts me on my butt for hours at a time, that doesn't help me. But I kinda feel like I made up for it a little today...
My dad has starting building a new garage and my mom asked me if I could come up for a day to help out, what do I say... Sure!! Did I ask questions, not really. Come to find out I signed up for helping my brother and Dad pour the concrete floor. HOLY CRAP!!! I worked my butt off for at least 4 hours, probably more. So I think I made up for some of my fitness minutes today. And I definitely counted that for strength training, I worked muscles I didn't know I had!

LOL don't tell me - tell my jello legs.
we have 132 steps from the top of the building to the bottom - so easy to do a lot at work but home is more difficult. 12 up to the main floor and 15 up to the 2nd floor - doesn't add up too fast. I mostly use my step aerobic "step" to do them at home.
I hope the weather holds out for practice tonight - any idea how many are coming?

On one of my other teams we have "weekend challenges" for points - this week they decided to start on thurs instead of Fri and part of it was to do stairs - 1 point for every 50 done - I did 901 stairs throughout the day yesterday between work and home - OMG!!! spaghetti legs OVER COOKED spaghjetti even. Then I couldn't figure out why I couldn't run last night DUH, finally after about 2 miles it hit me.

I found a fun place to hike...took Miss Fat & Naughty with me. I had to buy books at BCC today ($700 and I havent gotten them all yet!) and I saw someone walking behind the college and some birdhouses. SO I went searching and at the County Sheriffs building behind the college we found trails. We found blackcaps with alot of GIANT RIPE Berries - YUM!
So 30 minutes hike and 120 minutes playing an instrument for band practice(which is listed in the cardio list - ha - not exactly cardio but I am adding it!)

Good job Shannon for not letting life get ya down!!
I walked for 30 minutes with Miss Fat & Naughty at Otsiningo (how does she manage to doo doo 3 times in 10 minutes? I swear she loves seeing me bent over her poo with my plastic bag - irritating!)
Also we are having a garage sale and I decided to take on the boxes in the cellar. I was down there for 3 hours lifting sorting and hauling. I am calling it 45 minutes of heavy cleaning.

I was so frustrated yesterday, trying to find an open pool! I thought I'd take the kids swimming and we went to Cheri Lindsay park at 6:00 when they're supposed to reopen to everyone after the adult swim. There were a bunch of kids there to swim, but the lifeguards took off early and never reopened. We drove over to Rec Park, but their lifeguards left early, too. One last stop at MacArthur, their pool was closed early as well. Arrrrggghhhh! So irritated!
Since my plans for a pool workout were sabotaged by teenagers with things better to do than their lifeguarding jobs, 10yo and I took a walk. We went to the Giant and got some fresh fruit and some Almond Breeze. The way back I carried heavy bags, so it was a workout. 90 minutes walking.

No minutes for me yesterday team - sorry!
I had to take dog #2 for grooming (decided not to do dog #3)
No excuse after that except I was being a SLUG.

If we could get points for eating, drinking, AND lounging I would have it made!! haha
But I guess it's time to get back to the real world! I did 10 minutes for the Day 1 bootcamp workout and I did my 60 minutes of pilates.

Yeah I am really upset at all these time rules. The 5 run rule helped us for sure last nite but I think we should play the whole game.
I wish our team would wait for more strikes to hit the plate before they swing. Not one Sunstream girl swung the bat until there was a strike on them. No wonder the games lasted so long!
Maybe we should have a new league rule that you must swing on the first pitch!!
Our team should do that right back at them - some of us do, but there are a few impatients. It definately tires out the pitcher, I speak from experience!
