I don't know if this is the proper forum for this but I want you all to know that I have attempted to change the wording on our Team Goal of 'Drink 8 glasses of water a day'. I tried to change it to cups instead of glasses but I find I cannot change it. I'm sorry I listed glasses and not cups. I know it would be easier to track but they won't let me change it.

Just wanted y'all to know! I love this team!!!!!!!

Sandy

Peace Out,
Sandy

Oh, Lisa, you nearly brought a tear to my eye! The fact that I could make you SEE this place pleases me to no end!!! Ron, my soul mate of 12 years, and I sat down for a while today and we have ideas for 7 more stories! I have always, somewhere in the back of my mind, wanted to write but years passed and I just gave up on the idea ~ until I started writing my blog here on SP. More than one person told me I should try to sell it as a book. I'm in the process of researching certain days (I failed to write in my 9/11 Journal a few days). When I finish that, the book is basically written. I am gonna try this thing. In the meantime I stumbled across the site who I submit my stories to. They place them where they'll get the most readership and I get paid! Awesome!

But the best part is: each of you have had personal experiences that, if written down, would constitute exactly what I'm getting paid for! I would urge you to try to write a story about some event in your own lives! I know you ALL can do the same thing!

Thanks so much for your encouragement and support! You couldn't know what it means to me! Y'all ROCK!

Sandy

Peace Out,
Sandy

Sandy, I just read your story---memory lane here I come! It reminded me of my Dad, and canoeing away from water moccasins at camp. I could just picture the scene the way you described it. Keep up the good work!

Way to go Crystal! One step at a time!

Diane, I used to find that I was munching alot on my days off, I agree with Sandy, keep healthy snacks available and don't buy the junk food. If you have to have the bowl of something, popcorn is great. It doesn't have many calories and it satisfies the hand to mouth snacking motion that you crave. I like cherries, when you have to work for the snack (taking the pit out) you get full faster. Those little 100 calorie packs are pretty yummy too. I thought my kids would lynch me when I stopped buying snacks, but they surprised me---they'll eat whatever I have in the cupboard or fridge, watermelon is a favorite of theirs! I hope this helps a little, you know we are here for you if you need us!

Good for you, Crystal! Keep up the good work!

Diane, you can cure that problem easy! Get you a bunch of veggies and fruits you like. Then, just go for it! Hide the chips and cookies and only keep the good stuff around! I hope you can get the good stuff and still satisfy your snacking!

Good luck!!!

Peace Out,
Sandy

I'm still having problems controling my eating when I am home. I don't know what it is but as soon as I'm home I'm consantly eating something.
And I don't even think about it until it's too late!

Hey, Crystal! How are you doing today? I hope you are doing great! I just wanted to check on you.

While I'm here, I have another published story. I would like it if you would give it a read. It's about a nearly perfect day of fishing Ron and I had. It's not too long and it's pretty good. Here's the link: www.authspot.com/Journals/A-Nearly-P

Here I am, again thanking my team for giving my writing a read! You can't possibly know what it means to me! Thank you, Team!

I think mini-goals are the greatest thing since sliced bread!! That way it's always a short tunnel you're seeing the light at the end of!

Rewards rock, too! There are so many things that you can do for yourself, a lot of 'em free!

You have the tools and you will succeed! Oh, I should say you ARE succeeding!

Peace Out,
Sandy

How about you set your goal, and your reward is 1 hour of "me" time...read a book, start a hobby, just sit and watch the world go by, anything just for you! Oh, another good one is give yourself a facial, I always love that one! Someone on one of the teams I'm on also said she goes to the dollar store and buys something fun when she reaches her goals, like a puzzle book ( I love sudoko) or nail polish. Does this help a little?

I think having rewards set would be a good idea. I need to think of fairly cheap ones though. Any ideas?

I am here if you need a shoulder to cry on or someone to link hands with and shout for joy (in a cyber sence of course!lol) I know how it is to be frustrated, my weight has been a problem for years. I make mini weight goals for myself and have a reward if I meet them. Like for instance, for every 10 pounds I lose I treat myself to a latte. I plan on buying a piece of jewelry when I reach 50 pounds. I had a mini goal for the beach and I have 3.6 pounds to go to meet that! It helps me see the final result, one step at a time. Just let me know if you need anything, I'll try to help to the best of my abilites! We are all in this together!

Along with working out more on the weekends a bunch of good thoughts won't hurt. And that's what I can do to help! You are worth the effort and if you're not gaining, then you ARE doing something right!

I wish both of you the best of luck taking your goals by storm!!!!

Hugs ~ Sandy

Peace Out,
Sandy

Crystal, you are not alone. I seem to be having trouble getting the weight off. I eat very well during the week but tend to get sloppy on the weekends. I have made some improvement on my weekend eating, I just need to be better at it.

I exercise every day of the week, then Friday is my “day off” and the weekends we tend to work in the yard and get various chores done so I consider doing that my “workout” for the weekend. That is where I think I’m faltering. I need to do a regular workout along with all the other things I’m doing on the weekend. I know the weight will start to come off then.

Honey, I PROMISE to do everything I can to help you! I do have a hard time with the mean thing but I can set in words what I feel about the situation. And I can already tell you that you are taking the first step right now. It would be so easy to just give up but try to remember the reasons you wanted to get healthy in the first place. You'll feel so much better when you look at yourself in the mirror. You'll also live longer, and your family deserves to have you around for a LONG time!!! It's easier to get around, to get out of a chair, to walk up some stairs and just easier all around! You will feel better about how you look in your clothes, and how people look at you. But that last one shouldn't be the reason, to heck with other people. You yourself deserve to be happy. And if losing weight will make you happy, then there you go. All the reason in the world to hop right back on that horse that threw you!

My personal email is: mcdeane52@yahoo.com. If you EVER need me, please let me know. You are soooooo worth it! And I mean that.

Love and Support,
Sandy

Peace Out,
Sandy

I've kind of fallen off the wagon, but I'm climbing back on. I weighed myself Monday and I'm higer than I've ever weighed before. I need to buckle down! Is anyone willing to help me out, be someone I can check in with and will be HONEST with me, and not nice if I REALLY mess up, although not be nasty either....lol!

I just need an extra nudge along.

BTW sorry for the repost to those who are on the same teams as I am!
