I know what you mean about vague recollections! I'm just glad that I only do it once a year or so. I have to give myself a LOOOOONNNNNG recuperation nowadays! LOL

I gotta tell y'all something weird. I gauge my progress between weigh-ins (once a month) by my wrist size! DUH! I don't know why but I can pretty much see how I'm doing by encircling my wrist with my other thumb and middle finger. I can feel if there's water weight in there or if I'm really doing good! I know, I'm a STRANGE bird! emoticon Dad-gum it, I just discovered we don't have a bird emoticon! BTW, I asked the SP technical support for more emoticons. I suggested 6 to them: ghost, open book, chair, bridge, house and ? I forget. They emailed me back and said they're considering some more of 'em. Keep your fingers crossed! emoticon
Well, kind of crossed fingers, right? LOL

Hugs
Sandy

Peace Out,
Sandy

You're right, ESMERM! Just gotta keep plugging away! I did a baddy the night before last. I drank half a fifth of Hot Damn! OMG, my stomach would hardly take any food yesterday and it doesn't feel all that great today either! LOL I guess you could say I did it to myself! Either way, I'm sure I lost a pound or two by not eating much those 2 days! What a way to do it though!

Hugs ~

Lisa, how wonderful that someone said those magic words that have worked for you! Very motivational! I don't know that I could work around all that good stuff and not have to ROLL out the door at night! LOL Keep up the good work! And congrats on the loss of that weight!

I gained 2 pounds from May 2 to June 3! ERRRR! You know what keeps me going? I know how big I used to be. At my biggest I was 309#! So now that I'm right under 200# I can do so much more without lugging that extra 100# around! Know what I mean? So I figure 2 pounds up isn't toooooo bad. At least I can lose it, it's not out of sight for me! So I just keep plugging and every so often I treat myself! Cause I know how much better I'm doing than I used to!

Hugs to All!

Hi everyone! I weighed myself this morning and I lost 1.6 lbs this week. I work in a bakery and it was so hard to lose weight because of all the temptations. In the last 8 years that I worked there I have gained close to 60 lbs. Someone gave me some simple advice that I have been sticking to. Don't start nibbling and you won't be tempted. I thougt -yeah right- but believe it or not something that simple was the ticket (so far). I haven't had a cookie or muffin or cheesecake in over a month. I have had the willpower not to try any of the delicious creations my friend Melissa comes up with and have no guilt in saying no. I do take a string cheese with me in case I get hungry duing work and there are always bananas if I want one. Oh yeah, I got one of those big 48oz jugs from Wal-Mart that I have by my work station at all times filled with water and that really helps too. Everyone keep up the good work and don't worry about plateau's they will eventually pass. Lisa

Goals:

200 by 9/30/08 -made it on 9/13!
189 by Thankgiving -made it on 10/15!
185 by Christmas -made it on 10/27!
160 by my Birthday 4/11/09 - made it on 2/14/09!
150 by July 4th,09

Take one day at a time, that's how they were given to you for goodness' sakes!!

HI everyone, I thought I had done well this weekend and shown some restraint, but I still gained weight. Go figure. I will try harder this week!

How true, LouLou! Even as I type I'm having a sugar and cinnamon coated graham cracker (well 2)! I find that if I do really well and then reward myself I can easily do it again! If for no other reason than I know I am in charge and I will have earned that reward (or slip-up)!

And we are all here for the same reason - support, tips, encouragement and of course, fun! So pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get right back on that fitness horse! LOL

Hugs ~ Sandy

HI CM,
Baby Steps. I wish I could do everything right the first time but alas it isn't to be and Thank goodness or I wouldn't be here on SP with this team. I know I am always trying to reach my goals but sometimes I just need a break on occasion so I cheat but I come right back to SP so I will get back on track. This is what you are doing and I applaud your honesty to yourself and this team. You will get back on track.

I did poorly last week with all my goals and paid for it this weigh in with a 2 lb gain.

However, this is a lifestyle change, so I'm picking myself up and trying again!

Got a serving of veg in today and 15 min of exercise! It's a start!

Sanshive,
You didn't say how long your plateau has been??. Some times it seems we are not losing and being women we can go up and down the scale at any given time of the month. If you lost weight fast then your body is just trying to catch up also if your are exercising then you may be gaining muscle. Do you measure your inches? Sometimes we can't see loss on the scale but will see it the inches. I have a SP friend who only weighs once a month. You have done so well in keeping on track so don't get discouraged. You can be very proud of your determination. You are doing an awesome job!!!

Only till your body gets used to having less of the bad stuff and more of the good! It's gonna happen, you watch! Just keep up the good work and drink LOTS of water and your plateau will be but a distant memory!

Anything I can do, just ask, okay? We're all in the same boat. But SP did give us a paddle, we just have to keep using it. grin

Hugs and good luck to you and all the team!

Sandy

everyone always talks about "plateu-ing" and I hit my FIRST plateau. When I started, the weight just fell off. I've lost over 15 lbs. and now I'm stuck. Oh well, I think my body is just rebelling over the fact that it's no longer getting copious amounts of calories and fat. It'll just have to ADJUST! But can anyone tell me HOW LONG these stupid plateus last????

grr

It's just a bump in the road to your goals, Esmer. You are doing more fitness-wise and watching your portion sizes and drinking more water, right? See there? You are doing great!

I think you hould try very hard to keep a positive outlook both about the house and your journey to your goals! You have the whole team behind you! No one is an island and you have a strong lifeline here!

Hugs and good wishes ~ Sandy emoticon emoticon

Thanks for the encouraging words guys. I really do appreciate them. My housing situation is still up in the air and my resolve to eat less sugar has gone out the window. I am hanging in there! I hope everyone is doing great!

Bless you E, I am praying for you too. Sorry you are down in the dumps. Been there done that lately myself. My one joy is my grandbabies. The two little (5 & 6) ones make me laugh. I had them this weekend and I am still chuckling about some stuff they did. I hope you feel better. Anything you need please let me know. I am shutting up now emoticon .

Awww, Esmer, I'm so sorry to hear you're down! I took a moment before posting this and said a prayer for you and your peace of mind!

You know if I can help that I'm here for you, right? Along with the whole team!

No matter how you are at the moment, at least you're trying and that's something to be proud of!

Love ya lots!

Hi, LouLou! I know exactly what you mean about the dieting going out the window! Now all I concentrate on is portion size. I feel life's hard enough without depriving myself!

I think your hard work exercising will pay off in the long run! If for no other reason than you have been learning healthy habits. I think you're doing great!!! Keep up the good work.

Hugs ~ Sandy emoticon emoticon That's you and me sharing a nice picnic! I'm having a great time! HAHAHA
