Not to sound like a jerk or any thing, but since Ive been treated homeopathically for my tumor, I have none of these procedures or experiences. Im am very interested in your experiences, because its imporant I think to understand a persons life in order to give adaquate and genuine support. If any of you feel that Im not being callus or offensive please email me.If I am being offensive, in my defense, I really have to say you all sound extremely Brave and STRONG and I love all of you great great women!!

I feel better. I walked the long way to the post office and got the mail. Back to work tomorrow!

Hi Ivy, Feeling better this evening? I hope so. My port never gave me any trouble. They put it in the day before my first chemo and I don't remember any bruising. I think it depends on the size of your chest. I have a broad chest and plenty of room. The only time it bothered me was when the Gkids would throw their heads back and hit it. Good luck with yours. My fingers are crossed for clear margins.

Yeah, I'm pretty bruised up, and the port is right below the skin, so maybe that's why it's so noticeable.

I agree about the port! I called it "my alien friend"- I had a lot of bruising when it was put in- much tougher than the lumpectomy. But it made the chemo easier. Best wishes for clear margins!!

Ivy,
Having the port placed was the most painful part of my ordeal...in the grand scheme of things, it wasn't too bad! The port certainly makes everything much easier! I have my fingers crossed that the margins are good...
On to the next fight!!

Hi Ivy, so glad that part is over. I had a port and I am so glad I did. I never had any trouble with it. i guess you can tho'. It certainly made chemo easier. They don't have to try to do a IV each time. I hate IV's. I never had the numbing med before the poke either. It never really hurt.

Rest up and let yourself heal. When do you find out your biopsy results? I wonder why it takes longer with BC to get results. I knew the minute I was out of surgery that I had cancer . Oh well I guess they are all so different. Take care and will check on you in a couple of days.

For some reason, my second lumpectomy was a bit rougher than the first. Maybe because the surgeon had to cut into scar tissue. I also have a chemo port on my right side.

I feel much better today...yes, I'm taking the Tylox. I had some nausea the day after but I kept dinner down last night.

So, as long as the surgeon got clear margins, I can go onto the next step, chemo.
