I had to look up capoeira and now I want to try it. It looks like a great work out and a heck of a lot of fun!

As for my workout, I broke two personal bests on the running front this weekend! One mile in 9.33 wearing the Vibrams, and 5k in 32.45 in regular shoes and with a dull muscle ache from the mile. Woot!

I had a few different work outs- what a good day for it, too! (This is really yesterday but I'm gonna pretend it's today).

1) My standard workout of 20 minutes of jogging and 20+ minutes of core / lower body workout.
2) Biking for 25 minutes (and then another 25 minutes later... and then another 20 minutes later)
3) Climbing the stairs at wreck beach, vancouver. 470odd steps. A quick sweat.
4) My first capoeira lesson. 90 minutes of sweating. It was awesome!

After work yesterday, I let my mood steer me and ended up at home instead of the gym. So, resisting defeat, I did old-fashioned calisthenics, a la middle school gym classes. The silliness of grade school kicked in so I got a workout and a giggle out of it.

Today is a day of quickie exercises squeezed in whenever I get a minute.

* Push-ups against the bathroom sink
* Boxer twists while waiting for coffee
* Ribcage isolation drills at stop lights in the car
* Walking to the farthest water cooler to refill my bottle

Hopefully there will be several more before the end of the day. ;-)

Spent the day slacking down at the beach with one LARGE weimaraner, one boston terrier with an attitude (don't they all?), one grandbaby who already acts like a teenager and squawks when she did not have either my cell phone OR my ipod in her hands since it is ALL about ringtones or music (although I have found out she knows how to text, dial and check my email emoticon ).

Beautiful day out in the Pacific Northwest and my feet hurt from the 6 mile walk yesterday so this worked for me!

Playing catch up - definitely continuing to exceed my planned fitness minutes. Took day off yesterday from treadmill since my feet were hurting but got in a 90 minute walk instead. Today doing walk and gym. Plan on hitting gym on my way home from overnight trip (assuming not hungover - then may just "detox" in the sauna..lol).
