New to the team, and just read the whole thread. I snickered at a few items and realized just how filthy my mind is - the first thing that came to mind when JEREMALY posted about the man rhythmically groaning was that he was...having an intimate moment. Either alone or with someone else, I'm not sure. Good thing hubby likes my mind as dirty as his. *snicker*

lol...you live in an apartment, don't you? We've lived next to such weirdos.....XD

Oh, I remember invader Zim...but it has been so long since I saw it, and I have forgotten so much....this friend of ours is obsessed with it though.....I do remember the doom thing. hee hee. If you like that....have you ever seen the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy? That show is so funny.....and supposedly made for kids. lol....the only kids I can imagine watching it would be kids that were like me and my brother growing up. This little snot nose on the playground once asked us if we were related to the Addams famliy cuz we were "so freaky." I socked him in the nose. XD

Okay, I don't know why, maybe Zim did it....but I just thought about how I haven't watched Fooly Cooly for like a year....did you ever see that show? It's an anime, only 6 episodes long....if you haven't you need to Wiki it...no scratch that, rent it and watch it. It is so crazy weird, but I love it, it's hilarious...especially at 3am when you're cranked on Mountain Dew and donuts and trying to pull an all-nighter to finish this term paper you should have been doing for 2 months. lol. XD

Lord, grant me patience, because you grant me strength, I'll end up killing people.

Hahaha! Me too - I had tons of books shipped over from the UK but there are still bunches back there!! We need a book shelf though because we have noooo storage space right now - after Colorado I think we are going to hit the thrift stores and see what goodies there are!! I always wanted a library so maybe I can incorporate that into my jewelry workshop :D

Ok this is really weird - I can hear some guy outside groaning repetitively and it's just getting louder! Ok, he just stopped, I think I am safe from the random groaning man of doooom o.O

Speaking of doom - do you like Invader Zim?

cool....I love the soup...I hated it when i was a kid, probably because we were broke as a joke, and so we ate it every night, 10 months or so out of the year....okay, exaggeration, but still, that's what it felt like.

No...that is not the same. 0.0

I love Amazon....I have a great big wish list with them, and I think half of it is anime.....and then there are the books. XD I am a bookworm. = )

I'll post the recipe when I can snaffle it from my mum! I think I am going to go send her an e-mail for the recipe... I mean we *do* have a blender on our Christmas wishlist with Amazon so maybe we'll get lucky!!

Thing is with soup is I associate it with snuggling up all nice and warm somewhere and we just don't really have the need for that right now!!! About the closest I can get to that is taking a cold shower, sticking both AC units on and sitting on the sofa cold while trying to get warm without putting clothes on... doesn't have quite the same cosy feel to it!!

Maybe I can find some shop-bought soup in Colorado and microwave it in the hotel room... Hmmm I'm going to look for soup when I go grocery shopping tonight!!

lol...you are so funny, woman. I want that soup recipe now, too.....MIL is making grilled cheese...it smells so heavenly...I better go eat my soup before I get tempted.

He has 5 or 6, I can't tell anymore, he bites down hard and I am fraid of losing a finger. emoticon He started teething at 5 months, some kids don't teeth until 14 months...I even took developmental psychology, and I still don't know all the stages. XD Plus, until they are 5 or 6, there are these huge ranges for developmental milestones. But, our pediatrician is really good about giving us "hand-outs"--little articles about his development--everytime we go in, so we can keep on track. He has changed so much, it is hard to believe less than a year ago he could not even hold his head up...now he is just starting to walk and talk...he babbles all the syllables he knows, even though they usually make no sense. XD

I really hope you have fun on your trip!!!

Well soup can be really yummy - my mum's partner made a delicious roasted red pepper soup :D Plus a slice of bread is only 100 cals so you can have that too maybe to pad it out a little and sometimes a dollop of fat free sour cream goes nicely with it :D Oh dang - I want the recipe for that soup now - I can taste it!!!

And ouch... I can imagine breast-feeding bitey kids would not be enjoyable!!! How many teeth does he have? Or is he still teething? I have no idea what age kids start getting teeth... isn't it funny? I bet you know all the developmental stages inside out now but I am sure beforehand that you were (maybe) as clueless as me!!!

This evening we might be going mini-grocery shopping... we have to pick up some water for the road as we are off tomorrow and generally groceries mean a trip to Wendy's :D I think I would rather have that roasted red pepper soup now though!!!

Oh dang... but need a blender and we don't have one yet - boo!!!

emoticon Can't wait...lol.

well, I was oppositely bad....basically ate a huge restaurant breakfast that used my calories for the day...on the up side, I have been full all day, but, I am on nothing but soup for dinner to make up for it. Water's been okay, but I had coffee, haven't done that in while, so I have to pee all the time.....X(

90?????? It was like maybe 50 here, and that is a high for us for November. what a difference a "few" miles makes......= )

Yeeeeee-OWWWWW!!! My son just bit me again....he's reached the biting phase.....I feel guilty, but now I am glad I gave up breast-feeding. emoticon

Oh I'll be posting it here when it's up and online!

How are you doing today? I've been naughty and skipped breakfast cause I wasn't feeling so great but went for a walk to the park and back which is a mile away and had a picnic lunch of a peanut butter sandwich and a yogurt. Kinda not doing so great on the water so catching up now!

Was nice though - it's hot here again today - over 90f which is crazy for November when the average temp is meant to be 75 or so... Went out with my friend and had a good ol' gossip which was fun :D

Yup, you are right....talking it out is the way to keep it together. It's hard, because as you go along, you just end up assuming the other person is right there with you, and they are not reading you mind, and are lost instead.

lol...I didn't think about that....it would be pretty fruitless to get all going on things until the paperwork is through...the almighty paperwork. XD

wellll...I don't know about that, but I do know if you are not making too much when you have kids, they give you tons of money back to spend on them......Wesley was born in mid December, so he actually turned a profit his first year of life....not looking for that again, as I don't think the government can actually afford to give back what it actually takes to raise them.....XD

Go you!!! Definitely want to see your website when it's done.

Yeah - I think our biggest stumbling block will be the fact that while Jeremy and I have similar ideals, our lives were so so different when we were younger that we have massively varying opinions at times! I think it will be a case of just talking to each other and making sure that we compromise along the way!!

As soon as I am allowed to work then I will look at getting business thingy sorted out - I've looked into it a bit but as I am not even allowed to work I figure that it isn't going to matter a whole bunch right now!! Hey - I wonder if my business loses money, whether the IRS will *give* me money emoticon

I think I'll wait until I get the website up and running to set up a business account - I have spreadsheets(!) all set up for the accounts so I can use my regular bank account in the meantime then when things start moving I can just transfer the money (or lack of) into the business account and figure things out from there :) It is all really exciting!

Finally found a decent site to "borrow" swarovski colours from - I am just taking the ones I need and will stick them on my site somewhere :D Thing is I can't just save them so I have had to take a screenie and am cropping them all in photoshop - very tedious!

emoticon more kids......yeesh....I am not ready to think about that. XD You are right, but, idk, every one is so different.....and I have heard that from a mother of 10 as well. = ) But, you are right, I certainly am welcome to have more, when I actually forget the work and remember only the sweet baby smell.

Some things do come naturally, but other things? I don't know, you just don't magically wake up with the baby and know just what to do. But, there are lots of supports and resources now, and these wonderful pediatric nurses that answer the phone close to 24/7. XD I do think that mothers and fathers know what's best for their children in their hearts, and so when an obstacle comes up, you can quiet your mind, tap into the collective conciousness, and land on a solution. So, hmmmm....maybe it does come naturally after all. lol. I do know you just get used to a whole new way of thinking and living sometimes, without thinking about it. Wes isn't even a year old and I already can't imagine life without him.

Oh, people love the hand made things......and there has been such a crafts revival in recent years...everyone is looking for things like that.

lol....yes, I've found that a lot of these places only deal with businesses, not individuals, and the supply stores...they buy in huge quantities, orders that mere mortals like us could never do. You could look into actually getting a business name together and getting a separate tax ID number with the IRS? With that, you are an "official" business (don't ask, it is our screwy laws), and more places will deal with you, some will even offer you credit accounts. I don't know too much about it though, as I have never tried having my own business. I think....don't quote me on this....that it makes it easier to do your taxes that way, but I have noooooo idea. mmmm. Yes, research is the best course of action here. Maybe Jeremy could help? Maybe, just maybe he knows US tax law better than me???? That would be very, very cool for you.

Best of luck. = )

Oh I can imagine - but maybe you'll have more kids one day ;) You'll get to go through it all again :D It's one of the reasons I want to work from home - when I have kids I really don't want to be out working all hours to make ends meet!! It's good to have patience - I read stories about how you should let your children grow and appreciate the time when they are little and things like that but part of me wonders how you can - I am sure when I have my own kids it will all come naturally but in the meantime it seems impossible!

I think Jeremy is... more interested than excited. Being a manager he feels like he has a business mind (which he obviously does to some degree or he wouldn't be a manager - just jewelry is slightly different to fast food!!) and he has been really helpful with some things. But I think part of him envies it - not that he wants to sit around and make jewelry all day but that he hasn't figured out what he wants to do career-wise. He always wanted to be a writer yet he doesn't write and I know he wants to work from home eventually as well but he doesn't know what to do! I think he was surprised that people will pay so much for certain things - especially when they are hand made!

This is annoying - I am at the official swarovski elements website yet I can't find out anything about ordering directly through them... yet there are bunches of other sites that sell the beads and pearls and things... I mean - how do they do it?! Where do they get them from?! They must buy massively in bulk - prolly more than I could ever afford or justify!!!

lol...okay, and maybe that means when I get out of school, I will be your favorite customer. XD

You're right to start small, I think you have a good head for the business overall, and you're obviously very artistic, I really hope this turns out for you.

Oh, I really wish I could fast forward a couple years myself, but then again, I would miss so much....that's what happens when you have kids. XD You alternately can't wait and can't stand for the days to fly by. You want to get where you're "going" but you hate to not pick up the memories along the way. It is so silly, the other day I saw the school bus go by, and I was imagining Wesley as a little kindergartner, getting on the bus for the first time, and I almost cried about him getting so big so fast. I was so ashamed, how sappy is that???? He's not even a year old yet. But still, I feel like I will turn around a few times, and there he is, in school. When I get frustrated with him, I just have to remind myself to slow down, relax, and enjoy him, as he will never be this little again, and although I will enjoy him at all ages, there is no going back, so don't miss it. At least, that is the advice my mother gave me, and I am learning she is one wise woman. Wish I'd listened better earlier. XD

lol...that is so funny it surprised him. Is he excited about this opportunity for you?

Lord, grant me patience, because you grant me strength, I'll end up killing people.

Hahaha!! Oh that's great! Well if we like looking at the same things then maybe if you see something really lovely you can point it out to me!!! I'm just adding things to my shopping list - I must say, it's really nice spending money I don't have online! I figure that I will add all the things I think will be useful and things I will really need, then plan some designs and figure out exactly what it is I *will* need. I am going to buy cheap and cheerful to start just to get some pics on my site and then will upgrade to Swarovski etc. when I can afford to :)

I hate that - when I first moved I was so bored because I hadn't gotten into a routine and so stressed and run down that frequently I would fall asleep from 2-3pm until Jeremy got home around 4.30-5.30. I hate it when you can't sleep later on though because of it :(

I know what you mean about knowing what you want to do - I finished school, spent a year in college doing a year's design course then went to do a BA in interior design. Didn't get on with it so quit and got a cr@ppy job. Then I went back to uni to do a four year BA in elementary teaching. I qualified as a teacher and decided that I didn't want to teach - I love kids but the career had changed so much in the time I was studying I didn't want to get bogged down with all the paperwork and bureaucracy involved. Of course, that meant I had "wasted" four years and drummed up a substantial student loan and I *still* didn't know what I wanted...

My specialism in uni when I was teacher training was art and design as well though so I think it was bound to be an influence - whether or not this jewelry business pans out, I think to truly be happy in the career I choose, I will have to be doing something creative. I just want to fast forward to having money to get it started though! I want to be able to get our house wherever we live and get a little office/workshop and just absorb myself in it! I was talking to Jeremy last night about potential income from it and I think it surprised him!!

emoticon Get out....they are like my favorite site ever for pretty jewelry things.....that is so funny, we stumbled on the same place!

That does make sense....here they are regularly closer to $3 apiece, but when they have a 10 for $10 deal, then I buy a bunch. Why do men do that? Justin buys stuff all the time he does not eat, and I don't like it, but I eat it anyway because it's there. grr.

lol....yes, I've noticed that. I think a lot of people are busy with other teams, I guess many, well, many just game that much maybe? hee hee...just a thought. I love this group though, and I guess I like I don't feel "pressured" to be here everyday, since not everyone is....except, I am here almost everyday. XD

Did you notice we got this thread on the digest for 2 weeks in a row? XD

I don't know how the day slips by....I did a really bad thing...I fell asleep with the baby and we napped until the sun went down. That is so disorienting, waking up when it is dark!!!! eeee!!! It doesn't matter when Justin gets home, he will eat cup noodles and go straight to homework.....I can't wait until we are out of school for a while. I really wish I had found my career right out of high school....I'd have my BSN by now, and be starting grad school this fall, instead of my RN. *sigh*

Lord, grant me patience, because you grant me strength, I'll end up killing people.

Defo - it makes sense for me really because if we can pick them up for $1.50-$2 each then for $10 a week I have lunch every day that Jeremy is at work :) There have been some really good deals recently - Jeremy keeps getting some for himself but he is never around to eat them so we have loads left for him but hardly any for me! I'll have to start eating his which sucks as I would have preferred to pick something I like :P

Have you noticed that we are the only people who ever seem to post here? Wonder what happened to everyone else...

Not long til Jeremy should be getting home :D Dunno what has taken all my time today - I feel like I've done nothing but it has gone so quickly! Back to making a shopping list for jewelry supplies I think - kinda fun but I already did it once and the list got deleted! I have to keep telling myself to just add the things I will need but there are sooo many pretty things that I want them all!

oh, thanks, that was a good one....and very true of how I end up doing things....boppin' along just fine, then somebody makes a food suggestion, and all is lost for that day. XD

mmmmm....I love Lean Cuisine. And I like the Smart Ones dish you were talking about. I love Healthy choice, too. All so good. Wish I wasn't so broke...I have to wait for good sales to stock up. = )

Hehe - no worries! I tell myself that just by being conscious of what I am eating helps - I track everything on here and I try to stay to the lower cal limit - I think I am allowed like 1200-1500 a day and I try and stay around 1200 - if I go a bit over or have slip ups like the wine then it isn't *too* bad, and by being aware of it means I'm not just picking up anything edible and shoveling it down my throat like before!!

TV dinners help too - the Lean Cuisine ones are delicious but I am having weightwatchers three cheese ziti marinara for lunch today - yummy! Tofu stirfry later :)

mmmm...yeah, the ones on lone highway can get pretty bad. Road trips are so awesome...I love them! I'll keep an eye out though, if I'm ever on I-10. lol...thanks for the heads up. XD

lol...okay, well, no a bottle of wine isn't the best, but it could have been worse....much worse. 2 bottles of wine, perhaps? lol. Thank you for making me feel better, though.

Lord, grant me patience, because you grant me strength, I'll end up killing people.

Oh I'm used to the rest stops - we do loads of road trips and generally they are pretty ok - the worst ones I've used I think have been in Blythe just on the California side of the CA-AZ border on the I-10... the Interstate is busy but the stop is miles from any real civilisation so I don't think they are kept as well as others... they stink pretty bad!!!

Yesterday I had a bottle of wine so it wasn't all that great for me either, but food-wise I wasn't snacking so that was ok :D

lol...you're right, it all depends on how useful the information is. I probably wouldn't be learning anatomy and phsyiology right now if I weren't headed to nursing school.

Whoo-hoo!!! Good for you on the water and calories. I'm doing well today, but yesterday? Well, this cheeseburger called my name, and if you get one of those, you must get fries, and a milkshake, and....there you go. lol.

Diets are hard to maintain on the road. Although it adds to your travel time, around here, there are rest stops every hour or so with restrooms, so the water thing might not be an issue. Of course, I think the states maintain these, so if the states you are crossing don't invest or don't get much traffic, well, there might be fewer, which means it would be an issue.....never mind. lol.

I think you'll do all right, its just as you said: a few treats, just not completely crazy. Hope you have fun!

Lord, grant me patience, because you grant me strength, I'll end up killing people.

Yeah - I never used to be, but now I am finding that it is helpful in what I am doing - don't get me wrong, if it wasn't then I would have avoided it like the plague!!!

How is it going today? I am doing well on the water front (I just make up a 2qt batch of koolaid with sweetener and get through one of those a day :D) and have put in my food for today and the calories are really low! I might be able to treat myself a bit later!!

Am a bit concerned about Colorado - I am positive that the whole diet thing is going to go out of the window, and as for drinking all the water... on a road trip that can't be a good plan!!! Think will get a case of bottled water to stick in the car and take the bread that is in the fridge to make sandwiches as it will go to waste otherwise... but it's a holiday kinda so we're allowed a few treats - I'll just have to try and not go completely crazy o.O

ewwwwwwww....I can't watch that show at all. It's so sick....I was okay with the bats and the bugs and the deer heart, but some of that stuff is down right sick.....XD

That is so cool you figured out how to make it work for you. I have a very limited knowledge of excel...access, too....you do not even want to go there....XD lol...I guess I am not stubborn enough in that area. You go, girl! = )

Hehe - I dunno - I think there are some countries that I could go to where I would lose weight - especially after watching Bizarre Foods on the Travel Channel!!!

I used to hate excel and spreadsheets - I never understood them, never could figure out the formulae and never saw the point tbh! I always said it was something that wasn't worth learning properly unless you were going to use it all the time because you just forget everything! Then I got a job where I worked using a spreadsheet as a database - nothing complicated, just as a way to store information :) I started to pick up a few things :)

Then going through the visa process, one of my friends from the forum I go to put together a spreadsheet to keep track of our progress and i helped keep it together - now I am keeping that and another one going and from time to time I have to use formulae there too!

It's odd - for some reason I know what I can do with a spreadsheet, i just can't always figure out how :D But I am stubborn so I get there in the end :)

Oh, they are so good...you should treat yourself sometime....but then you will be an addict, like me. XD

I can understand that, all bets would be off if I moved to a foreign country. And the portions over here really are ridiculous.

Distractions do help.

You can have Excel...I can figure out a little, but mostly I want to chuck it!!!! eeeeee!!!

Gotta go for a bit, talk to you later.

Oh I see those all the time!! The Japanese ones!!! I have never tried them but I am soooo tempted when I see them!!

I think I just overindulged massively when I first got here - everything was new and exciting and we ate out a lot because I was in holiday mode. Of course, portion sizes are huge and some of the things I wanted to try were less than healthy. It got to a point where I felt so unhealthy in myself that I had to do something - I had the worst water retention, my hands kept hurting and swelling up for no reason, my knees ached all the time - my body just isn't used to the weight and so it was telling me off ;)

Being distracted helps - I've been working on my jewelry business that I can't even start properly yet and even though at 11.30 this morning I was hankering after food, I got engrossed in it until lunch time and didn't even use my coffee trick! I did this afternoon though because I wanted something sweet so I just had a coffee with a sweetener :)

There is something very gratifying working on an excel spreadsheet and figuring out some obscure formula!! I've been putting together how much it would cost to buy an item based on materials and hourly pay then adding the insurance to it for postage - thing is, the insurance is based on the value of the product so I had to use the IF command which I had never done before!! Go me!

mmmmm....you are making me sooooo hungry....I loves the cheese....lol...must be the cat in me.....that's why cats eat mice, you know, full of cheese. lol. childhood joke, sorry. That cheese stall just sounds divine. No wonder you talk about it all the time!!!

Glad you found your favorite crackers, and glad you are making out okay on food....it really isn't too bad here. I'm stuck an hour a away from an interstate, in the middle of the Midwest, and even we have a couple of health food stores that carry exotic, imports, and organic stuff--no Trader Joe's though. And, lol, Justin hates it when we go there, because I'm the same way...I want to try everything. One of my weaknesses is my favorite store carries Pocky, a Japanese snack food, and they put it right next to the package ramen we always buy. It's hard to resist.....chocolate or strawberry coated cookie sticks.....yummmyyyy.....XD

Hope your cheese gets through!!!

Defo - Cheddar is called cheddar because it originates from... you guessed it - Cheddar which is a place in England not far from where I lived :) You can get it in different strengths, kinda like here where you have mild and sharp but in the UK you get mild, medium, mature, extra mature, farmhouse... so many different types and they all taste different. There was a market that was a few miles from me every weekend and a cheese stall there that sold the best cheeses - ones with hot peppers in (like pepper jack but with the taste of cheddar and spicy) ones with herbs, garlic... different smoked cheeses that weren't like rubber...

Mum is going to try and post some cheese to me - she doesn't know if it will get through customs but if it does... :D

I'm doing ok here though food-wise, it's not too too bad if I look for alternatives - I even found my favourite crackers :D We can get brie and camembert and other cheeses like that and Trader Joe's is a godsend - it drives Jeremy nuts but I could spend hours in there just wanting to buy everything!!

ahhhh...yeah, it's a different cut...I don't remember where ours comes from, but not there. lol...Justin is a butcher's apprentice....I'll ask him. hee hee.

Oh, cheese...I love cheese...I am so bad, I skimp on the rest of the groceries to get imported cheese. usually French as that is what I was raised with, but I have heard the wonders of some good English cheddar and I want some really bad. Justin's store might get some in for Christmas....I know they order in some puddings...Of course, it is not the same as eating it fresh over there. *grumble, grumble* I need to take a little trip, I think....

I think it is more like Canadian bacon, although I haven't eaten any so I can't comment! It's back bacon though so has more meat :D Cheese is another bugbear here - Jeremy always wondered why I raved about it until he came to England and tried *real* cheese!!!

Ah! Here he is now! Home on time for a change!! Yippee!!!

That really would be fun......yes! Let's work on that.

lol...I didn't think about something like bacon being different....so what you ate over there is more like our Canadian bacon maybe? I don't know, I'm a Southern gal.....we always had strips. XD I think both kinds are a totally different cut. And, yes, ours has way more fat......as most of our cooking does, cuz that's what we loves. XD

yeah, would definitely miss the reactions, but I'm sure there would be emoticons and comments galore. hee hee.

It is tedious - but a labour of love!! I've played the game before and I have the Strategy guide so I can always pick up where I left off - I hadn't played in months before yesterday but it soon comes back :D Short sharp bursts are where it's at :)

Cool on the bacon too! I don't get bacon here - it's sooo different to the UK bacon - in the UK the bacon has meat instead of fat - well it has a rind but you can cut that off and if you grill it then it's not that bad for you really... at least compared to the stuff here anyway!! Bacon bits are nice to nibble if you want to stave off a savoury hunger pang as well :)

I think the downside to the game really is that you don't get to see people's reactions :( It would have to be posted in some kind of active review forum where people frequently visit and comment on things - they would all be totally confused and it would be hilarious!!

lol...we are so broke......if we buy a game we don't play, it gets sold quickly. hee hee

wow...you are a very determined woman...I usually give up on those things after a while...Justin goes through with it, but there is usually swearing involved before it is over with. *sigh*

The calorie thing is insane...I don't understand....it must be the dressings and the cheese....they always make the calories explode.

I am with you on salads.....and bacon bits...I love bacon bits. And I found out I can substitute 1 tablespoonful for the 4 strips I usually use on breakfast sandwiches. Since the 1 spoonful is equal to 1 strip of bacon, that's savings of like 52 calories......I am getting a little OCD about calories...can you tell? XD

I love feta cheese, too....mmm....worth the money.

lol...that game sounds hilarious...how do you think we should organize it?

Lord, grant me patience, because you grant me strength, I'll end up killing people.

Oh cool on the sale!! I am terrible - I buy games then never play them - I have soooo many, especially now that my shipment has turned up from the UK!!! Jeremy managed to get a PSX emulator on my PC as well so I have my FFVII perfect game on the go again!! Am currently torturing myself trying to get 99 M-Tentacles from Malboros on the Gaea Cliff but it is soooo tedious!! They don't appear often and when they do, sometimes the steal is an Echo Screen - just what I *don't* need!!! Doing it in small bursts though - have 25 so far but haven't even picked it up today - been reading up on jewelry stuff :D

Crazy about the calorie thing - How can a sandwich have so many calories!? I mean, it doesn't make sense! BUT the good thing is that sometimes it is surprising how much other things have - like the potato - means you don't have to feel so bad about eating it and all you have to worry about then is portion size :)

Right now I am sooo hungry... thinking I might make a coffee as the small amount of milk in it tends to keep me going for a while ;D Dinner is going to be salmon again but going to use capers this time instead of the jalapeno and see how that works :D Will have it with boiled new potatoes and salad. The good thing about salad is you can eat tons of it - I always top mine off with a sprinkling of crumbled feta cheese (a bit pricey at $5 a tub but it lasts for ages!) a few croutons and bacon bits then fat free Italian dressing and it actually is very yummy - moreso than just leaves anyway and the "extras" don't amount to too many calories at all!!

I just had a great (crazy) idea! It's like consequences but with reviews - each person picks a product and writes a review about it (even if they don't know what it is!) then the reviews are swapped with the person "next" to you so no-one has their old review. The review you end up with gets posted about the product you originally wrote your review about so they are all mixed up! You could end up rating "great sucking action" (vacuum) on a garden table or something weird... it would be too funny!!!

lol...I know, most of what I have are intentions.

Oh, man, we go to this deli all the time...they have these giant smothered baked potatos....well, I stopped getting them and started getting this club sandwich, because I figured it was healthier....lean meat, whole grain, lettuce, right? WRONG!!!! I finally looked up the nutrition facts...that sucker has over 1200 calories, and that's before chips and a lemonade! I went back to my giant smothered potato, which is 825 with sour cream and a small drink......Now I'm downing to eatin 2/3 of it. XD

lol...they might think you weird, but I would have laughed my head off....maybe I should start leaving odd ball reviews like that?

*sigh* I ended up buying no video games, buuuuutttt...it's because the clerk who is a friend of ours told us not to buy anything until Thanksgiving week...apparently, they are having a giant sale, and guaranteeing their prices against the doorbusters in the rest of the mall stores...yay!!!! Here's hoping "Santa" brings a Wii AND a 360......lol.

I did buy Hello Kitty earrings....they were on clearance....XD Ugh, also bought sweatpants, so I can get my booty out and walk in the freezing cold...how fun....And, Wesley fell asleep, so I didn't have to feel guilty and buy him anything. Good day...XD

Yeha - I am telling myself that too - it's not that I am not allowed things, I just have to make good choices and when I am only responsible for myself it isn't so bad but when Jeremy is here all my good intentions go out the window!!! I like it when I find out something has a ton of calories and it is really small but then I can get something I really like that has much less and I can eat more of it!

I was on allrecipes.com the other day and saw a *sandwich* that was reviewed - I checked the nutrition info and it was over 1000 calories!!!!!!! I felt like screaming to all the reviewers who said it was delicious "nnoooooooo, don't eat it!!!!!" but then I thought they would all think me a bit weird... ;)

oh, I know what you mean....where I was born, in Arkansas, well, Southern culture is all about the food, and food=love there. So, if you love someone you feed them, and you eat what they feed you, and the cycle goes on and on.....eeeee!!!

Yup, Justin is nearly 6' 2" and a huge frame...he thinks he could get down to 185lbs, he is 220 now??? There is no way...he would be emaciated. But, 205 I could easily see for him, if he really goes through with the lifestyle changes. But even then, he could easily have 2200 calories a day, and at my goal weight, I can only have 1450! sooooo not far....

The only thing I have is just keeping in mind that I need way less food, and just having very small portions of whatever is on the menu, and filling in with soup and oatmeal and things. But it is suck to stick to, and most days I can't X(

I have no idea what I will buy today. Going to browse.....I want to buy either a Wii or an X360 system AND THEN a game, but dh has the credit card....for some reason he doesn't trust me with our one and only emergency credit line. XD *sigh* I will probably browse a while and end up buying Wesley a toy, because I feel guilty spending money on myself....= )

See you!!!

I hear you - Jeremy is up to near 300lbs but while he is big he carries it well - he could do with losing weight so he is working with me which is good but he can always eat more than me because his metabolism is that much better and he has a larger frame!

I just associate food with comfort and so yesterday it was terrible - cookies, pizza... the works emoticon

Today though I have had two pieces of toast a couple cups of diet coke and a coffee... need to get on the water now though - I just didn't fancy the kool aid this morning!! Really need to find a way to stick to being good on Jeremy's days off... there must be an answer out there somewhere!!

What game are you going to get!? Or are you just going to browse?

oh, man...I want scales, too....I may buy some today, but I only have $$ for scales or a game...not both...so probably no scales. XD

Glad you're back on track...I struggle on Justin's day off....he just can naturally eat more than me. But he will have to cut back soon because he has realized he does not have a teenage metabolism anymore. And, since we are living at home, he's eating his mom's cooking more, not mine, so, yeah, he's starting to creep back up again.

I'm off to the mall here in a bit...need to walk, need to entertain Wes, and going to buy...something today. XD

HAHAHA!! Oh that is too funny!! I don't think Jeremy would go as far as that. He just called from work because he is feeling miserable and tired - has been a long two weeks for him at work and he is fed up - we're off to LA tomorrow to pick up a new car and we have to leave early so need an early night!

Told him that Monday we are defo digging out my FFVII copy and having a gaming day!!!

lol...my dh says VII is the BEST EVER and gives you the evil eye if you even look questioningly at him. I have one friend who says IV is better, but I dunno...I think I like VII better. lol....I suspect Justin has lost grip on reality on this one, though as he likes to imagine that he is Cloud and I am Tifa. I pointed out once that generally speaking, I am more an Aeris type character, and he screams, NOOOOOO!!!! emoticon Because she dies......

I swear, he is not usually like that....something about that game. emoticon I dunno. XD

yup, I sparkmailed you my name.

Oh, that is just gorgeous...I love that song. How romantic!!! Justin and I had early medieval Celtic chants and Paslistrina pieces for the march. We got married in the church building where we worship, and the congregation only allows acapella music, so we got creative.

Okay, I have to go listen to that again...thank you for sharing.

Are you on facebook? I'm just going through my old YouTube faves and dug this up:

uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xlUZEjfiF4U

It was the theme to our wedding - we had a guitarist learn the tabs and played it at our wedding, then we had the Japanese version play as the first dance at our reception and the English version as the last dance :D

lol...when I started dating Justin, I told him I was never getting married...well, maybe when I was 40. Funny how it all works out.

It is important to find someone who can put up with us, warts and all, as my grandmother says. Oh, I totally couldn't have made a long distance thing work...I am not that kind of person. emoticon

So great you have found someone like Jeremy! emoticon

I always had those dreams as a kid that I would meet someone young, have a long term relationship then get married young and have kids young and do everything young... didn't seem to work that way though!! My brother and his GF are a bit like that - they have been together six years or something since they were both 17 or something like that and they both went through uni, both have great jobs, have a mortgage... not married yet but they are both younger than me and I envy that sometimes...

I think the truth is that I am pretty difficult to get on with - I have mild AS and when I flare up it is hard to handle and I think that scared a lot of guys off. I react badly to change (think screaming toddler but I'm 26 emoticon ) Jeremy and I actually met online on a MUD years ago, tried to make the distance thing work and it all went downhill. We lost contact for a while and then started talking again and still got on so well that we decided to make a go of it.I totally understand the ups and downs - you get a lot of them in a long distance relationship too and it's not easy to make up with a hug :(

But we came through it and I think it has made us stronger as a couple because of what we have been through - we still have ups and downs, especially when I get homesick but we get through it :)

Oh, I here you...I have distant relatives like that. On my side, most of them have $$ though, so they are not Jerry Springer...they are "eccentric." Actually, that's one reason I'm hugely broke....the money in my family comes with these strings attached. It was easier to break the cycle and get by on my own hard work.

I got married so young because I married my best friend. We met when I was 12...I thought he was the biggest, nerdiness, dork I had ever run into, as I was a bit of a tomboy then, and well, not that into boys. However, we started hanging out when I was 13, and ended up dating when I was 15. Since we had friendship on our side, we were together through thick and thin, and so decided to get married about a year after I graduated...we had to wait until he was 21, so we could rent cars and some hotel rooms on our own. XD I definitely wouldn't recommend it for anyone though, and I constantly remind my friends that when you take those vows, well they say for better or for worse, and you WILL have both. We are just the kind of people, as long as we are together, we can go through hell fire and survive to tell the tale. I think it really is the trials you face, and how you both react, that cements a relationship.

Oh, yeah, moving to another town is pain......I wish you had a pile of money, too. Heck, I wish I had a pile of money...lol. I've heard Colorado is really nice, never been there, but Justin's family goes all the time. They're a bit obsessed with it. I'd love to move back South, to the Ozark mountains, but there are no opportunities left there, and I don't want to contend with the relatives. So, here I am in good old Indiana...which is somewhat hilly in the Southern part, and livable.

Lord, grant me patience, because you grant me strength, I'll end up killing people.

Oh I could tell you stories suitable for Jerry Springer about Jeremy's family!!! They are lovely people at heart but totally irresponsible or lacking in any kind of common sense!!!

What inspired you to get married so young? I was always worried about finding the right person! If Jeremy had been in the UK I prolly still wouldn't be married because I could never figure out a way of being totally sure. I think I finally realised I was sure a few months after applying for a visa to be here - we had to go through so much to be together and the fact that we both kept on going kinda clarified it all in my mind :)

Totally hear you on the stability - must be a nightmare being married and a mom and living with your in-laws!! If we moved back to the UK we'd prolly have to move in with my mum for a while as well. It all just seems so... complicated - I mean, if we decide to move to Colorado it's not as simple as just moving there, we have to look for jobs first. Then when one of us gets a job, we work on moving up there and finding a place to rent asap to start the job. We might have to stay in a motel for a little while as we look. Then we we get somewhere to rent we start saving and looking to buy, all the while, one of us is still looking for a job...

I mean - it's times like this I wish I just had a bunch of money so we could go, buy then worry about getting a job when we are there!!!

oh wow, now I really want to visit the Isles......

I think you guys will make it work....you both seem to feel the same way about things, and want the same things in life. I think you'll make excellent parents, too.

It is so hard to get settled. I got married at 19, with only 1 more year of college to go. We had a student apartment we were renting. I graduated, and the dh decided to drop out of school. So, we rented a regular apartment. Well, I hated my career, and dh wanted to finish a degree, so now here we are both back in school and living with my in-laws. It just seems like it takes forever to get anywhere stable! I can't wait to be back out on our own....in a house or at least a condo.

lol......well, by all means then, don't leave the kids with them......my FIL is that way, I trust the rest of our parents to watch the baby, but FIL? He is crazy....end of story.

Lord, grant me patience, because you grant me strength, I'll end up killing people.

Oh yeah - Indian food is really popular in the UK :D Not very good for you though... That is if you get all the creamy curries that I like!!!

I think we'll find a way to make it work - I'm not expecting to have a multi-billion dollar business or anything, but something that keeps me busy enough that I can work part to full time at home would be awesome. Hear you on the health insurance though - Jeremy has great coverage where he works right now and I am not sure how that will work when we move - one step at a time though. I just can't wait to settle down! I thought that once I had moved here things would smooth out a bit but they haven't really - back home I was living with mum and here we are renting so it's not like it is really my own place - I want to decorate and things!

Family day care is so not an option for us. Even if we were close by any of Jeremy's family I am not sure I would trust them with the kid(s) emoticon They are an... interesting bunch ;)

my dh got out of his teaching program in college for the same reason.

That really would be great....and I mean it. I've seen families do it around here. A lot of it depends on your priorities as well as the cost of living in the area. The people that make it work here in the Midwest, they don't go for big houses or new cars or anything......I don't know about both of you working from home, that might work, have no idea, but I can totally see one of you at home and only one at work...but that is mostly for health insurance....that situation is really nasty here.

Child care is very expensive here, and hard to find and keep good ones, either sitter or daycare. We are fortunate enough to have a lot of family here...we all take turns watching the baby....when we both get out of school, hopefully Wes will be in school and we can work around that....don't know what we would do with another one. lol.

It sounds like you guys have an awesome plan...the good thing about living here is if you want something bad enough, you can usually find a way to work it out...but I think that's more due to the tenacity of the individual than the country. XD

You guys have good Indian restaurants in the UK??? I am so there.....I am a lover of the curry.....yum!

Same - I am just glad we have Indian restaurants around here - still not the same as back home though :(

Jeremy and I both want to work from home eventually - it's our dream to bring up our kids ourselves without having to resort to overpriced childcare. I'm not sure how it is here, but it is almost more worth staying at home with your kids on one income than both parents getting a job in the UK because one of the jobs all goes to childcare anyway practically...

It's just one of those things that most people say "yeah that would be great" then passes over it like it could never happen but I think we can do it - Jeremy always wanted to write but he hasn't got the motivation - I am sure he will find his niche one day! I spent four years doing a BA to teach elementary then at the end of it decided that I didn't want to do that after all - I love kids but I don't like the government bureaucracy ;)

Yeah - I know time off here is crummy - We were speaking to a girl at our local grocery store who has three months left until she has been working there a year. At that point she can get one week's paid vacation emoticon She almost wet herself when I said that four weeks' paid vacation is standard in the UK and that four weeks' paid sick leave is separate!! I am going to find it tough when I get a job but all the more reason to make my own business a success, right?!

And yeah - the seeds were a little... ouchy!! Not unbearably so but enough that I want to remove them next time!!!

Wow...that is cool...and definitely a way to pass the time while waiting for anything.....but unless you have an exceptional employer around here, I wouldn't count on being off for maternity leave much before the kiddo....we only get 12 weeks by law, unpaid leave unless you have personal or vacation time accrued.
I got 14 unpaid because I twisted arms at the office.

The recipe sounds yummy, but I am sympathizing with you on pepper seeds. ouch!

Well it started as a hobby - I have never had classes or anything - I bought a charm bracelet once on eBay and thought it looked simple enough. Jeremy came to the UK to stay for three months and we decided we wanted to extend the stay to six months but we needed money for him to stay.

So we started the jewelry thing - we didn't make a whole lot of money but it was fun, we're in profit and we still have stock and materials :) I want to branch out though - before we just sold things at a few fairs or to people we knew, but this time I want to target an audience and get a website up to take orders and things - how it will pan out I don't know, but it gives me something to focus on and eventually when I get maternity leave I'll have something to keep me occupied while I... wait emoticon

In other news, I've just had the most yummy dinner - it was a recipe I took from Allrecipes.com:

allrecipes.com/Recipe/Fish-in-Foil/D
et
ail.aspx

Defo worth a try - we used some salmon we picked up really cheap ($9 for four whole fillets - enough for four meals for the two of us!) and it worked really well - would de-seed the jalapenos next time though emoticon

That sounds awesome...let me know when you get it up...I love jewelry. lol. I used to make it, back in the day when I had this unusual thing called time.....now I make mudpies with my son....that is about as creative as I get. Oh, wait, I do knit baby things, as they are little and cute and go quickly...quickly is good.

lol....didn't mean to scare you....just presenting the facts, ma'am....just the facts. XD I did a term paper over effectiveness of birth control by formula, use rate and level of education, and one of my angles was lack of education by the public on what was in their meds.

There are actually people who are much better than me for drug advice, which is why I suggested you find a provider you trust....and as far as the birth control, I reccomend going with a nurse practitioner who specializes in obgyn...she will be the most up-to-date, generally speaking, and the most cautious and diagnostic. Plus, if something does happen or the time comes, you will already be set up with a baby doctor....

You'll be fine!

Loved the article, thank you so much for sharing!

I think if I need any meds I'll just come to you first so you can point me in the right direction!!!

Am really pleased - we went shopping a day early this week because I wanted to get out of the house and needed to get some trousers anyway (that was a fiasco - nothing I tried fit and what did fit didn't look all that great but ended up with a couple of pairs) and we didn't need a whole load of groceries.

One of our little routines is that we get the groceries then stop off at Wendy's on the way home (actually it's totally out of our way but still!) so we can pick up a salad and not have to cook when we get in. I normally have a homestyle chicken BLT but I went for the mandarin chicken salad instead and even with my funsize milky way bar was under 1200 cals!! Made me pretty happy :D

I normally clean on Saturdays before Jeremy has Sundays and Mondays off but I think I want to get it over and done with so I can chillout :)

You're welcome.....as late as 2005, 50% of pregnancies nationwide in this country were unplanned. Granted, many weren't using any bc, but still, that number is uncomfortably high for me. I kind of wondered if it was just here or not. Sounds like not, but glad you are going to do some research.

It's not terrible here, you just have to really be an informed consumer. The FDA has charts on the actual use-rate determined effectiveness of various forms of birth control, and most of the branded bc have websites. It is totally up to you, I don't know your insurance situation or anything, but I personally will never use generic birth control again. For any other drug, I would totally try generic first....they are mandated to be equal in formula and effectiveness to name brands and for the most part, they are and work equally well for half or less of the price. However, the equal effectiveness standard is only an average effectiveness for an entire population, and individual's reactions with their unique body chemistry is not accounted for. That's why for drugs that are hormones or for antidepressants, I go with the name brand.....it has already had a realm of studies done with inactive ingredients, individual phenomenons, and ratio of active to inactive ingredients, as well as just the test for active drug effects. But, once again, it's personal choice, and there is no danger in trying generic drugs, as the active ingredients, side effects, etc, are the same for both.

Hope this is not TMI, I'm sorry, like I said, near and dear to my heart. lol. I have not doubt you'll be fine, just find a doctor or NP that you can trust.

Lord, grant me patience, because you grant me strength, I'll end up killing people.

Eep! Thanks for the warning! I know people in the UK as well who have got pregnant while being on birth control pills so I don't think it is just here - will defo look into different brands before we go speak to someone though!!!

I don't know what it's like in the UK, but women's health here is one notch above dismal....I got pregnant on generic birth control pills, because the company had lower the hormone content by a fraction of the percentage, well within FDA standards, but just low enough for my system to overcome the pill. Love my son, but I really could have ripped a new one in the person that made that decision. Plus, a lot of family or general providers are just not up to date on birth control issues.

If you are already estrogen only though, you should be fine. But, I would definitely find a provider you trust. sorry, that just popped out....I'm a nursing student, headed eventually towards a nurse practitioner, most likely in women's health, so this is near and dear to me. hee hee...

mmmm, yeah, there's always this weird dull spot in the afternoon. I hate it. Even with all the work I have to do, it still gets boring....that is such a paradox...super busy and still bored. *sigh*

Hope the toast works. = )

Lord, grant me patience, because you grant me strength, I'll end up killing people.

Yeah - my friend got an IUC and didn't get on with it - I'm just on birth control pills but because I have hereditary high cholesterol I am only allowed to take the estrogen only ones - it's all very weird but will have to see someone about getting birth control in the US soon - still have all my UK stuff!!!

I hate this lull in the afternoon - just before Jeremy gets back, too early to start dinner but this is my worst snacking time in the day. I just had a piece of toast to try and stave off the nibbles...

I understand, I do the same thing some months. Less since getting a Mirena, but that has other issues. emoticon

Sounds like you came up with a good plan for the candy. Yay!

I probably could but then I get bloated with PMS and things so it would prolly make me feel worse :( I'm happy knowing that I was 205lbs though because it means when we get a scale *hopefully* I will have lost a bunch of weight since I first weighed myself... at least, that's the idea ;)

I gave all the candy to Jeremy to take to work so it wasn't here anymore - I have a tupperware thing of cookies and one of candy corn but when it is put away like that it isn't so bad - it was the stuff sat out on the table!! But I snaffled the Milky Way tiny bars and put them in the freezer for if I fancy a treat :)

whoo-hoo!!! Glad you made out okay.

can't you make your goals based on body measurements? Since you don't have a scale.....just throwing out ideas, as I throw out the rest of the Halloween candy, because I am sick of the shame...the utter pain and shame. XD

Hope everyone is doing ok right now - I had a slip up last night but when I came in to track my food from yesterday I found out I was ok after all!! I was pretty happy :D

My hubby is the same although he moved around a lot growing up so nothing he owns is in particularly great condition if he can even find it!!

As it is, I have all my games from the UK coming over tomorrow morning!! We have to figure out a way to adapt from PAL to NTSC etc but I have my pink PS2 and over 100 games along with all my books and things arriving!! I can't wait - I haven't seen them in over four months!

Haha - I used to love playing Dynasty Warriors - it was one an old boyfriend had :D I don't think it is a game I would buy myself but I did enjoy playing it :)

Yeah - don't beat yourself up about it, just remember that tomorrow is another day! As for the water, I am better than I used to be but I am still peeing a LOT!!! I have a terribly weak bladder at the best of times - TMI?! emoticon

True enough.......and maybe we'll say it's a celebration....I got 1100 kills in one of the Nanman campaign levels. emoticon I was a girlie on the rampage.....XD

I hear you on the water.....it took me forever to get used to it, but luckily I had to do that during pregnancy. I got really dehydrated the first trimester. To me, that is sadistic....telling a pregnant woman to drink more water.....XD

Defo - and this is prolly the worst advice, but when I am having a bad binge day, I figure what the heck and just enjoy it - a couple glasses of wine or whatever and figure tomorrow is most defo a new day ;)

If it's any consolation I had about four days of being naughty - Hallowe'en, then the next day because it was our party then the two days after that my hubby had his days off of work and we had (still have actually) looooads of leftover candy.

Today is my start-again day though - I am being good, drinking my water, peeing all the time - the usual :D Sometimes it is good to let go as long as it isn't all the time and you get back on track :D

I'm not even counting because there are sooo many empty calories and it would just depress me - I figure that what I don't know won't hurt me as long as I don't carry on doing it allll the time :) I think I would just cry if I counted!!!

That is a great attitude! Just what we need.

If you have a "bad" day....just hit continue and try it again...XD

I've been working the leftovers into my calories...not very healthy, but better than I did last year....last year I was averaging 3500 calories a day, easy. Now I'm down to 1500, which is actually still slightly more than I "need," but not enough to pack on the weight. = )

Lord, grant me patience, because you grant me strength, I'll end up killing people.

Totally hear you - have been... less than vigilant since Hallowe'en and because we have so much party food left over it's a bit of a recipe for disaster. Hubby is home as well so I find it harder to be good then for some reason. I am just glad we don't have scales right now!!

I figure that today won't be all that great either and tomorrow will be a fresh start again - it's not like I am going to give up, just that the Hallowe'en events were a little indulgent :D We can do it though - just because we have "bad" days doesn't mean we are going to stop this!!!

After about a week doing pretty well (but neither seeing nor feeling any results, natch), I had friends come in from out of state and spend a week. I did ok the first day they were here, but after that it all went to hell. I stopped counting and have been terrified to look at the scale. I also got ridiculously behind in one of my classes and now I'm just so stressed over that I don't know how I'll ever get back on track!

The friends are almost all gone now, but I'm still in super-procrastinate-and-eat mode. Argh! I have a major test on Thursday so I think I may remain in a kinda semi-diet stasis mode until then. I can't handle obsessing over every number I put into my mouth when I'm trying to obssess about the numbers dancing through that g*dd*amned stats textbook.

On the upside, he will often sit on my lap while I'm on the computer, so maybe he will at least let me do homwork?

My health is having its ups and downs, excited that I get to see this specialist I was told I couldn't see, but I'm still very upset over the fact that I'm still in so much pain. It makes my day to day life very hard. I'm also pretty lonely.

On an up beat I'm filming on Wednesday I don't know how many if any of you are doing that as well but I'm very excited.

I want wings, but ya gotta be light to fly!
