I do Step, Kickboxing, Zumba, Water Aerobics, and have done indoor and outdoor bootcamps (they are quite the rush), I also do the Curves circuit and have numerous DVD's I do at home. The best way to try something to see if you would like it is get DVD from the library and try it in the privacy of your own home. Not all Zumba is created equally. Some are more fitness orientated with more calisthenic like moves while some go closer to the dance moves. Each instructor has liberties how they want to lead their class. I like a variety of workouts as it keeps the body guessing.

My gym (lifetime) offers the perfect class. It is a 50/50 class. Half step and half weights. I love it! In fact I am taking a class this afternoon. I have also tried Pilates and kickboxing which I felt for several days afterward. : )
I do Zumba, and I think it is fun. I also do cycle because it is a good workout. In general I don't like cycle because it is kind of boring. (no choreography--just pedaling. If the music is good, it's okay.)
I like Power Yoga. It can be really challenging.
I also like strength training classes like body pump or lifting weights to music. I like Pilates and ball classes for abs. Bosu is good for core work and balance as well. I think the more different things you do, the better for your body.
