You have to have carbs your body, especially your brain, needs them. Just limit the kinds of carbs you have available and the portion. Or you can do the Paul McKenna hypnosis trick of imagining your trigger foods covered in ick while squeezing the thumb and middle finger of the left hand. It will immediately wean you off your trigger foods.

There isn't really a way to choose a diet plan on here. SP suggests a well balanced diet that you can customize. I am one of those people who are limiting their carbs. I'm not going no carb tho. I've noticed that I have a big problem with carbs. Once I start eating them I just can't stop. Carbs are what I overeat. I am not following the SP diet but I am counting my calories, following the fitness plan, and most importantly, coming here for support and advice.

I am not dieting. I have started "conscious eating" which is to eat slowly and to stop when I am full. It takes some practice and you have to focus, but it is pretty straight-forward.

I personally don't believe in any of those fad diets. Both fat and carbs are necessary and elminating can be very harmful to your health. Having said that, you should still aim for a healthy range of both and choose quality fat and carbs. Steer clear of too much saturated fat and avoid trans fat altogether. The best carbs for you are going to be whole wheat, but not everything that says whole wheat or whole grains really is. For example if you are buying bread, the very first word in the ingredients should be whole and NOT enriched. Also look out for partially hydrogenated listed: this is a fancy name for trans fat.
Your diet plan suggested by SP is going to be within healthy ranges for all food groups, but don't feel chained to it. If you want to eat something that is not listed, you can still enter under add a food not in my meal plan. Just check all the way below that your fat, carbs, and protein are within range.
I hope that helps!

Christina

I have noticed some people say they are doing "low fat" or low carb... like they have selected or designed a program. I am just following the one that SP suggested .. I have been at this for only a few days.. but I was wondering where or how do you pick one ... or do you?
