It totally depends on your activity level. if you are active your resting HR tends to be lower.

The road to success is not straight. There is a curve called Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends, red lights called Enemies, caution lights called Family. You will have flats called Jobs. But, if you have a spare called Determination, an engine called Perseverance, insurance called Faith, a driver called Jesus, you will make it to a place called Success.

I had a heart rate monitor and wore it out. The wrist band got brittle and cracked probably from sweat. Mine wasn't polar but was polar compatible. I used to love mine. I want to get a polar but when you get the best, you pay for it lol. The polar's are great because if you are at the gym and use a HR compatible piece of equipment like a treadmill, elliptical, bike etc., it will pick up your signal from your chest strap.

I needed mine because I have a heart condition and I wanted to make sure I didn't go over my limits.

Doh, Sharleen, I've been spelling your name wrong lol. Sorry.

George

p.s. Congrats on the 10# loss Karlyn!

I actually have 3, all polar, love them. The one is a basic all it dose is measure your HR. The second one is a middle one monitors your HR and calories burned. The third one is the one I use every day almost. It is able to be specially programed and is made to work with a bike telling you speed, distance, and everything.

Well I hit a goal. Lose 10 pounds!! emoticon So for hitting that goal, my prize is a heart rate monitor. I bought a purple garmin from REI. I hope I can figure out how to use it. I think it will help me to stay on track. Do you use one and do you find that it helps your progress?
