I a lso find it hard to get myself motivated. I find the Spark 10 min DVD's a lifesaver. I get up at 5:30 and usually do my 10 min before breakfast. Also check out the video's here. I did a stretch band one while watching TV. REally helps things.
I started with getting up earlier to get my stretches,yoga, etc., exercises in -- and it didn't take long that it became a natural thing for me to do! I love it! Same with my daily exercising -- everything seems to be just a part of my day and I no longer look at it as "having" to make the time -- it just happens!
I fit my workouts in 3 mini workouts per day. I started off with just one workout and slowly added the extra 2 over time. I do my 1st workout in the morning before work, a 10 minute sparks video for lunch and a 10-30 minute kickboxing workout or my 5K training after work. These smaller workouts allow me to obtain my workout goals. I know once I found my passion in workouts (which is kickboxing), I no longer dread my workouts. I suggest finding a workout that you love and you will find it easier to squeeze into your busy schedule.

MIke, what I do is, when I get hoe and all I want to do is to sit in front of the tv, I tell myself. I am going to (insert here: walk, play tennis, swim) only for 5 minutes. and I go for it. Just for 5 minutes. Most often I put in 30 minutes easy. Once I started it is not that bad....
Of course, people at my apt complex think I am nuts, since I get home from work at 11 pm... LOL

Perhaps you could start with a small goal - you will walk or exercise one day a week for at least 10 minutes, or make it one day a week for a half hour and build from there. Keep this until you have done it consistently for at least 2 weeks - then add another day to make it 2.

How about taking a brisk walk during your lunch break or exercising during your shows until the commercials? I have a step that my hubby made me that I use during the shows. Step up and step down. Gets the heart going and I can still watch shows with the family and be a part of the family instead of in another room working out or being at the gym.

I could use a little advice. I am doing well with the diet but I'm finding it hard to exercise. As with most folks I am pretty busy and it seems like when I have the time to exercise I don't have the energy. I am up at 5 and out the door at 6 AM.. Then it off to work and back home by 5 PM. By then all I really want to do is sit in my favorite comfy chair and relax.
I would really appreciate any suggestions.
