Sign on to SP asap when you start lacking motivation. Read some of the weight loss stories, the articles on topics of health, some good recipes...do some food tracking...TRY something, and if you hang in there, you'll be so glad you did.

Good luck and keep the faith...

Cathy, I have a son in a wheelchair. The seated resistance band workout is very good. There may be a part you can't do (the one using your leg) but it is all done sitting down and gives you a great workout.

Hello Everyone! I need some motivation help! I fell down only two steps last Tuesday, and dislocated and shattered my left ankle. I have a non-weight-bearing cast right now, and will for another few weeks. I'm getting around on crutches but not all that well. I need some ideas on what I can do over the next few weeks and months, so I don't become a flabby old blob! Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Being outside is motivating to me especially if I do yard work and or clean my pool makes my endorphins feel better or my brain I guess.

right now I'm afraid to quit smoking. I'm having a hard time trying to, at least, stay the same weight let alone lose it. And if I try to quit smoking too. well,,,forget it.

I seem to be falling back in my bad habits.. When I quit smoking I truly did it one day at a time and didnt attempt any other improvements . Now I need to do the same with weight loss and get my mojo back.

some times motivation is had to hold on to. I guess that's why I have joined Sparks People. I am trying to quit smoking and not gain any more weight. I lost my will power and my motivation. The people here will help you find them again.

I need someone to give me a big kick in the butt! My motivation lefted me this week. My diet went out the door right after it. I've been bad this week. My problem was the evenings. I've been covering my manager this week at work; she's on vacation. Stressful!! My diet was real good during the day but when I get home,,bye bye diet. I need more motavation in the evenings!

One day at a time sweet Jesus.

I am getting motivated again and will be posting my daily achievements here for accountability.

So, I write down my goals, exhaustively. I think about what I want, develop ways to achieve them, put them in perspective and provide doable, action steps to achieve them. Then, regularly, I do not do the actions. I do not seem to ever get there, something stands in my way all the time. How can I reframe?

Usually I start out really good, go strong for several months, and then, poof, it all goes downhill, especially when things go amok, like when I get sick. I was doing ok, not great, until the beginning of the month and I got a sore throat, and then got better with antibiotics (I seem to be getting strep too frequently, more than 4 times in one year), then I got better for one week, then got my son's cold and am just now feeling better. I usually get asthmatic when I am sick, so it takes a little while to get back into the swing of things.

Then, my goals plummet, and I feel like I am starting all over again.

MOTIVATION IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS. IT HELPS ME WHEN I NEED THAT LITTLE PUSH TO KEEP GOING.

M- MAKE SHORT TERM GOALS
O- OUT WITH THE NEGATIVE THOUGHTS
T- THINK OF WHY YOU WANT THIS
I- IMAGINE HOW YOU WILL FEEL
V- VISUALIZE HOW YOU WILL LOOK
A- ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR SUCCESSES
T- TREAT YOURSELF WITH RESPECT
I- INVESTIGATE NEW IDEAS AND FOODS
O- OBSERVE YOUR HEALTHY LIFESTYLE
N- NEVER GIVE UP AND NEVER GIVE IN

JUST A LITTLE MOTIVATION SENT YOUR WAY. HAVE A GREAT DAY. SANDY

"You're never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream..." C.S. Lewis

“Don't wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.” ~Mark Victor Hansen
