I love the old dutch hint of lime tortilla chips. They are terrible for you, however, they just taste great!

I haven't been doing well with this challenge either - I guess that's why it's called a challenge! Fibre hasn't been a problem for me, I have trouble with the fruit. I don't know why I don't go for fruit. I always like it when I'm eating it but it's never my first choice.

I found some great tortillas for anyone who likes chips and salsa. They are Life brand multi-grain with flax tortillas. They have 5g of fibre per serving. You wouldn't want to eat chips everyday but they are nice for a treat. I like them better than regular tortilla chips - better flavor.

Cheryl...no need to appoligize for the meat. I eat meat and love it. I just thought it might be a good idea for us to try getting protein once a day without all the saturated fat. Just something to try.

September 5th

5 - I got 'em all
4 - I got all 4 (anything that I get 3 or maore grams I consider high)
3 - I got 2
2 - yep, I got them too
1 - Peanut butter in the morning

Blast off - Gazelle in the morning, and a walk with my hubby last night

5 - only 1.5 - have to work on that!
4 - I'm going to track this as grams of fibre instead of servings - I've had 20 today (need 25 - 30)
3 - 4 of these
2 - 1 so far!! I'll have yogurt later.
1 - just from one milk product. most of my protein for the day was meat, sorry!

No activity yet other than housework, I'll try to fit some in before bed!!

Not a bad start I guess. I'm just under 1100 cals so I can still have a snack tonight. Only 2 more glasses of water needed to fill my quota!!

I've been very slack over the summer but the good news is I haven't gained anything back. Whew! However, I've re-adjusted my goals and I'm ready to get back on track to lose some more--I have about 14 pounds to go, I think. This challenge sounds like just what I need to keep me motivated!

I'm having trouble getting this challenge going, maybe because of the holiday weekend. Hopefully I'll get it before the end of the month!

Good Morning All

MERABKLEIN you've done really well to lose that since April!! Especially over the summer!!!! Thats great.

Thanks for the encouraging words Candace. My main problem is staying on track. I need to avoid treat days for awhile anyway. They just seem to last longer than they should. I'm going to concentrate on doing really well for the month of September and get all the junk food out of my system. I know getting back to work will help and I've already warned the family that the junk food is going away. I'll let them have a little eventually but for now it has to be gone.

Have a great day, I'm off to the city to pick up my oldest daughter for the long weekend.

My original goal beginning of April was 37 lbs by august 30 and since I am only at 27.5 as of today my guess is that I had ot come up with a new goal so I am trying for another 14.5 lbs by end of October. I doubt I am going to make that goal either since I would have to lose 2 lbs a week to do it but I will give it my all.

Hi Cheryl, 20 lbs by Feb is totally do-able. I am trying 20 by Dec 12 - it's a goal, but I don't get too focused on dates.
Welcome back. I look forward to getting to know you.

Ok, so I've been very bad over the summer!!! Please forgive me, I want to come back!!! I go back to work on Tuesday and I'm ready to crack down and lose weight. I've put 8 lbs on over the summer, same as last year. I've got to get this off and more. I have a goal though. We're taking the family to Florida in Feb. so I would love to get at least 20 lbs off by then. Tuesday is going to be my official start date. Thats when I'll weigh-in.

Have a great long weekend Ladies!

It's been the same for me Dale, I have been up and down on again off again and I think that this will really help me. My strongest month was June wehn we did the last challenge like this.

Hey All, I came up with this Challenge based off the one we did in June. I changed it a bit for some variety but kept most of it the same.

5 - servings of fruits and veggies per day
4 - servings of high fiber foods per day (to learn about high fiber check out http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/refere
nce_fiber.asp )
3 - servings of whole grains per day
2 - servings of milk per day
1 - alternative source of protein per day (nuts, soy, dairy, etc - for more ideas check out http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/refere
nce_proteins.asp )

Blast off - the pounds with some sort of exercise, strength traning or stretching daily!

Post as often as you like to keep your group up to date with your progress. emoticon
