Good morning on this the first day of May. Where's our warm sunny weather?
Yesterday was setting day for the lobster fishermen here, and what a miserable day it was. My husband goes out each year with friends to help set their traps. I took a drive down to the shore yesterday afternoon and parked the car and watched some of the boats coming and going with traps on board their boats and believe me, I was glad I wasn't on board as I would have been sick just leaving the wharf. It was rough going. Just sitting parked at the beach, my car was getting buffeted by the winds and it was making me queasy. Took them longer to get all 300 traps set as they kept drifting and would have to sail back to set the next trap in the next spot. So when all was said and done, they sail back and check some of the traps to see if there are lobsters in them. Sure enough there was some in the traps and they are allowed to take some home for themselves. Last night, despite a sore mouth I had my first taste of lobster for the season. Was it worth it,you bet. Now today I'm starting fresh. Going to buckle down and not let a slight weight gain get in my way. The weather here today is not that great to get outside and do anything(very windy and misty and cold) but I have my treadmill out of storage and fixed,so I have it up and running again ,so I will be spending time on it today and by the sounds of the weather forecast for the next couple of days, the treadmill will be getting some use. Tomorrow evening there will be no Zumba ,as the community hall is being used for a Polling Station. Also I will continue with my spring cleaning, which will mean alot of bending and stretching.
Hoping to have some of my vacation pictures posted to my blog site in the next little while. Misplaced the cord for my camera but the daughter told me about a little do-dad at the Dollar store that would work. Got one and it worked on getting my pictures on the computer, now I just have to figure out how to make them into an album and post them on line. Enjoy the day everybody and take care. I have to take my son into Kensington to meet up with his auto shop teacher. He taking some of the students to see old cars today, yes on his own time and a Sunday at that, nice guy.
How Awesome! I'd join you but I just got a bike last year and fell off it a lot! I hadn't been on a bike in almost thirty years and it was a eye opening experience! If I'm any better on it in time for your trip I'd love to tag along, but don't get your hopes up... I haven't gotten it out yet, and need the handlebars raised so my knees don't hit them...lol. Hope you get lots of interest in the trip! Sandra

This is sort of a personal challenge for me, it's something I'd really like to try this summer. I've heard of the awesome cycling trails in PEI and I really want to go on a cycling/camping trip in PEI this summer. I used to be an avid cyclist but haven't done much in the past few years.
My challenge is to get back into cycling and head to PEI with a group of friends to enjoy the beautiful province and be active outdoors. I'll extend it to anyone else out there who might be planning a trip this summer: can you make it an active, healthy, enjoyable trip? I'm going to try!!!
Having not been on my bike in ages: any pointers for me to start?
