Finally made it! I kept going up and down the last pound but yesterday I hit my bmi smack on and today the scale read one pound lower. I had been a little perturbed by the wait, eased up on exercise and had a little dessert (not too much); so I guess my body felt safe enough to let the last pound go.

I'm pleased and ready to move on to healthy! emoticon

Thank you so much ... I offically met the 50 pounds lost goal last week and I do feel great. My doctor showed me what a pound of fat looks like today and she said, "just remember, you've lost 50 of these". It was so awesome.

Thank you again and yes, I'm still trying for a "healthy" BMI.

I started my weight loss journey 155, I did not know that I was officiakky overweight then lol however I am replying to let you know you are well on your way to healthy. You are doing a great job. I started at 155 and now I am 127 thaks to sparkpeople. You go girl

Well, thank you for the support. I am pleased to say that I have lost a couple of pounds. I am now poised one pound away from "overweight" on the BMI scale. I didn't think I'd get here because I was on a plateau for so long. Anyway, hope it will be this week; if not, sometime soon.

I agree with you as I try not to go by the # on the scale and more by the way I feel and the visual confirmation of weight loss. This challenge was primarily started as a fun way to have a goal, after all most people don't say that they want to be overweight! lol

Good idea, Jae! Through the plateau of the last three weeks, I keep repeating, "It's all about a healthy lifestyle, not the number on the scale." And that is true. I set myself deadlines but, really, I want to be able to live my life.

I'm too late for the challenge as I just found the team and there is no way I can get to overweight by the end of August but Overweight is my goal now. I have 14 pounds to lose. I expect sometime in October to hit that. Fingers crossed!

Ok..let's see if I got this right..I am 5 foot 9inches and at my weigh in the scale read 200lbs..which means I'm a BMI of 29.5 !!Which if I am correct the overweight category starts at 29.9 ? Don't tell me I actually did it?? I just might of??!! This feels darn good to be overweight!! hehe How is everybody else doing??

I know it's been a while since I've logged in but life gets crazy...I'm struggling to focus on eating well and getting in exercise while my other daily chores are pilling up...but I'm know i'm not alone it's the story of many people in here i betcha...anyway...last time I checked in to join this group i was 31.7 BMI...I am currently a 30.6 BMI...so I'm getting there..guess the struggling is paying off emoticon

Well, I stayed on track this weekend with the eating and the exercise. I went to the gym again yesterday and spent over an hour. Did the elliptical, treadmill and bike. At least 20 minutes on each and I felt great afterwards knowing that I had made the effort. As I've said before, I think I'm becoming addicted. there could be worst things I suppose. I hope everyone has a great week and that you all had a great weekend!

Thanks for the words of wisdom from toobusytodiet! We'll invite you to the next challenge when we're going from overweight to healthy.

We should all concentrate on health rather than weight. Unfortunately, all too often we lose sight of that and worry more about the pounds lost or gained.

I have been finding some awesome articles on the motivational page that have been helping me. I print and they are now posted all over my house and work space. It has helped. I referred another friend this morning as she wanted to know what I was doing to "look so good"! What a way to start a Monday.

I don't qualify for this challenge because I already am in the overweight category, but I think this is a fantastic idea and I wanted to cheer you on! Focusing on BMI instead of weight helps to move the focus towards health instead of just weight... now if we could only figure out how to grow taller to help move the BMI numbers lower! lol

Well...it's slow but sure. I weigh myself every monday and again lost only one pound (better than gaining I know) However it doesn't affect a BMI very much so I wont' even bother calculating until the end of the month. Hopefully by then there will be a little change to encourage me. I got bad news from my doctor about my back...long story but suffice it to say I'm doing my best to walk everyday. I send my best wishes to all of my team members in hopes that your journey to be overweight is coming along great! Keep in touch

Good morning everyone and I hope that you are all having a great morning so far. The weather here is great and that's makes me energetic and happy.

Went for a walk last night for approx 45 mins and have another scheduled for tonight after work. back to the gym at lunch as well for the Bikini workout. Saw a 2" drop yesterday from the first of the month so something is working.

Also have a date on Wednesday nite with this guy I've been talking to for a while. We're going walking as well, around Lake Banook. Will have to let you all know how that works out. Have a great day all!

Well it looks like there are 5 of us now and as today is the offical start date, then that is great. Welcome everyone and here's to everyone being "overweight" in the very near future!

Today is weigh in day for me and so I will post weight loss (hopefully) later today as well as BMI.

I think if we post daily, weekly or semi weekly what our BMI is, your weight as well if you are comfortable with that, then that will keep us accountable.

I think daily posts to let each other know how we are doing will also help. I know that for me, I post here every day and that helps me stay on track as I know I have to explain to someone if I don't. lol

Welcome to our new friend. I only weigh twice a month so my updates will be then as to where I am in my weight loss. For the rest of you, if you want to post every day, feel free. Whatever motivates you is what you should do.

I will be posting every day as to what I did that day. Yesterday I did strength workout so that meant I did the "Bikini Workout". For those of you that haven't tried it, it's a killer. Today is cardio so I have 20 minutes scheduled on the ski machine and 20 minutes on the treadmill. I do incline 5 for 5 mins, incline 10 for 10 minutes and incline 15 for 5 mins, all at 20 min mile. I may try to do more later as well.

This is a great idea and count me in ..so that makes four of us. Apparently my BMI is currently 31.7 and in order to make it into the overweight catergory (29.9) I need to lose 13 lbs. I'll give it my best shot for the end of August !!

Well it's just the three of us for right now, but that's ok with me.

If you aren't sure of what your BMI is, for mine, I can go to the start page and look under my goals. My 1st goal is listed as going from 195-135 before 07/31/2010. This is where it will allow me to input my weight to calculate what my BMI is. I played with the weight to see what it needs to be in order for me to be in the Overweight catagory.

You can also go to http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/ and you can get it there as well.

I need to lose 13 pounds in order to be there. I would then have a BMI of 29.9, however that would put me in there. So I have 10 weeks to lose 13 pounds.

IT CAN BE DONE!!!!!

I saw this challenge on another Team and as it had already started a while ago, I would like to start it for our team as well.

This is all about BMI, right now I am listed as Obese on the BMI calculator and that upsets me to no end. I am going on vacation in September and would like to be listed as Overweight by then.

I would like to present this challenge to everyone else on the team that would like to go from Obese to Overweight by the end of August. That would give us 12 weeks to change our status.
