For the last week of summer: 370 min.

I'm posting now because we will be visiting my sister this weekend....no Sat. workout for me....lots of hiking and walking on the beach.....but it isn't the same. I'll be missing the tabata interval class at my gym, and the yoga class:( And then for the next month grasshopper soccer is probably going to interfere with my Sat. workouts as well. The things we give up for our kids. It'll only be a month. I skipped out on the gym today (did pilates at home instead) because my littlest was sick again and had to go to the doctor...who thinks he has asthma which would explain why is is always dealing with congestion and such....since he was about 6 months old it seems it just won't stop. So he has inhalers now. It runs in my family so it isn't that big a shock. I'm just glad we are on track to figuring it out. I'd feel like crap if I just let it continue without trying to figure it out and treat it. I have mild asthma so I know what it is like to cough and have trouble breathing. Mine is very mild though. Anyway, this summer challenge was fun. It helped motivate me. It helped me drop just over 20lbs. Thanks! I have about 25lb left to reach the healthy weight range for my height, but I'm not stressing over it. Even though I haven't seen much change in the scale in the last month my clothing is looser and people at the gym swear I am still getting smaller. Whatever. I feel great. That is what counts. I'm looking forward to a new challenge. Of course when the rainy season hits it will be making it to the gym in pouring down storms with two small kids. LOL

603 minutes this week. This was the first week of changing my workout routine to accommodate my daughter's preschool drop off and pick up times. A pilates and a yoga class have taken the place of zumba and pump. I can still do half of zumba and pump, but not the full class. We'll see how that goes.

week 8/28-9/3: 450 minutes :(:(:(
I skipped two days, due to eye irritation issues that made it very unsafe for me to drive to the gym. And for the first time in months I am ranked #2 on the leader board. I better fix that this coming week.

Week 8/21-8/27(is it really the 27th of August already? Gosh!): 560 fitness minutes.

I did some Pilates this week, I hadn't done any for a few weeks. It was nice. And my leopard print hip scarf with gold coins came in the mail. I wore it at Zumba today. I love it!! It has more coins than my plain black one. So. Much. Fun.

So I kinda wish I had kept track of my weight loss now. I was going through old blogs to try and figure it out. I didn't want to get all caught up in weight loss competition though, it can be tricky to not get sucked into an unhealthy corner doing that (for me anyway). But now I'm curious. I should double check with my tracker tool thingy, but I think I have lost a good 20 lbs since this challenge started. A month before this challenege started I was 189 I believe, so I was most likely down to about 185-183 range when this started. And I have lost like 3.5" off my waist, a couple off my hips I think. IDK. It's been melting off though. That is the word friends of mine have used to describe it. "Kristy, you are melting away." LOL
I hope everyone else has been doing well and staying happy.

Week 8/6 - 8/13: 480 fitness minutes (elliptical, butts n gutts, zumba, pump, yoga, treadmill, pilates)

I kinda slacked this week. Gave blood yesterday so couldn't do Interval this morning and my son was not feeling well so I couldn't make yoga either, and I couldn't do belly dance on Monday becuase I had a prior volunteer commitment.
Next week should be better.

Week 7/10-7/16: 410 fitness minutes (ellipitcal, ARC trainer, classes at the Y, yoga, belly dance)

If I am able to get some minutes in tomorrow I will edit this, but my kids are really sick with Strep Throat and there is no guarantee I'll get to work out tomorrow. I didn't get to today. I'm exhausted from staying up all night with them and the constant nursing as I am the only food source my youngest will take right now aside from ice cream. Still 410 minutes isn't bad and I even managed to lose another pound this week, so all's good.

Here is to next week being normal again!

Okay, I'm posting today since I don't know that I will be able to jump online tomorrow:)
If there are any last minute changes I will edit things as soon as I can.
Also, it still seems as if Spark keeps fronting me like 20 fitness minutes...anyone know what's up with that? So, I'm writing them down and going by my own addition, rather than Spark's. It ultimatley gives me fewer mintues than they say, but it seems more honest....unless I am just totally missing their reasoning for the fronted minutes.

For the week of 7/3-7/9:

685 fitness minutes. (yoga, pilates, interval, pump, belly dance, walking, elliptical)

Good luck for the coming week!

Lucky! We were gonna go camping this week but circumstances have prevented that. We plan to go to the coast in late Sept though to visit family and friends. Hope you had fun!

Week of 6/26-7/2 (edited to add dates)

week 6/19-6/25:

463 fitness minutes
{pilates, yoga, raking leaves (yard work), zumba, belly dance}
I had a sick kid to take care of and it really slowed me down as far as getting to my routines. Pilates was a nice change. I also made a real effort to increase my water intake. Of course the heat helps with that one. Here is to next week!

LOL, I think I am the only one doing this "challenge." I'd be working out this much anyway though.

Okay, for the week of 6/12-6/18:

600 fitness minutes (and I even took Thursday off of Zumba)
{zumba, strength training classes, belly dance, yoga and elliptical trainer}

Hope everyone else had a good workout week.
And though I'm not doing the weight aspect I did lose another pound this last week putting me in the 170's....it's been years. Have a great coming week!

So do members have to particapte in both the fitness minutes and weight loss aspect of the challenge or can they just do the fitness minutes? I have found that competing with weight loss isn't always the healthiest mind set to have. But I'd love to do the fitness minutes part.

Every week post your amount (time) of exercise and any weight loss. Lets see how many combined hours we can put in and how many combined pounds we can loose. All participants will get a team goody and the person who looses the most weight and the person who puts in the most time will get a $20 gift card to celebrate their achievements. Everyone must weigh in by Saturday night to be considered each week. Good luck to all!

For your first post please give your starting weight.

Please post the activity, the time spent and weight lost.
