Copied from my blog.

This week I've modified my goals somewhat, and am going to try to pace myself better so I'm not so tired by Thursday & Friday.

This weeks Goals:
1) Ride to work 4 days
2) Ride to evening class, and use transit (shortens the trip)
3) Add some yoga for flexibility (10 min) to my daily routine at least 3X this week
4) Do the strength training exercises from SP
5) Walk to work on Friday

Well now its wait and see on how well I do, I think I've pretty good at setting this weeks goals a little more realistic.

Peace, M

Goal's back to:

200 lb 7/13/11 (2nd time around, I'm determined to 'Stick It' this time) {11/6/13 3rd time but now under 200}

180 lb (wedding weight)

160 lb

140 lb (college & met DH weight)

125 (post baby weight, pictured)

Final goal

Maintain achieved weight loss, and physical activity

~ Nothing is better than how Healthy feels. ~

My challenges are ahead of me this week. But they had better watch out because I'm back at 'em!

As soon as you make that committment, that is when all the challenges start coming full force. Monday, I was offered 2 free tickets to the Rivercats game. And, as you all know, they've made the playoffs. Couldn't go, go to the gym. Tuesday was a send-off party to someone who is leaving the department. Meeting at Round Table for the all you can eat salad buffet (and pizza). I went, but made the effort to really stock up on a healthy salad, but did have a couple of small pieces of pizza. Today, we have Nachos Galore being hosted in the breakroom. Great prices, giving you a big plate of nachos, with whatever toppings you want on it. Had to pass.

What is up with this. It is when you make the committment that everything will come out of the woodwork to taunt and tempt you. When was the last time they had a lunch hosted? Been awhile. When was the last time I went to a game. Been a couple of years. I don't feel denied, but have to admit that the things that I am having to turn down are some of the things I enjoy.

Honesty, if you can learn to say "no" to some of the big ticket items that merely sabotage your efforts, I believe there is a greater degree of getting to the goal victorious when the really tough challenges come along.

How's everybody doing with their challenges?
Smiles,
Layne

I just took the Treadmill Team challenge to walk 500 mins. this month. I'm already half way there. I'm going to add a workout video and 3 days to my fitness plan! I'm going to lose this weight and get healthy. emoticon

AAAAAAAAH! I've been feeling pretty good about getting in half an hour of exercise, 5 days/week, but I just added up my minutes for August and it only comes to 810! How the heck do you all find time to get to 1800???? I'm already getting up at 5:30am, I just don't think I can get up any earlier. Wah!

If you've joined the goal your minutes will automatically be tracked.

If you want to make sure you can click on the goal and then click on "See Leaderboard" and you're name should appear.

Let me know if you need any more help and welcome to the team and to SP.

Hi, I'm new, I think I am tracking my exercise minutes for the team, but how do I know? this is a bit tricky for me. My goal for the next week is to get a picture taken and posted on my page. (as well as all the other goals)

You guys all rock! You did a wonderful job with the month of August!

I hope you all learned how good it feels to acheive your goals and how great it feels to reward someone for achieving their own goals!

This month I would like to focus a little bit more on a accountability. I know that work out a little harder and more often when I have someone making sure I'm doing it. Here's how I would like to do this:

1. Post here DAILY! I'm certainly going to try to get on here during the weekends more often. But I would like to see all of you telling us how you're doing everyday!

2. Leave a comment on a fellow SparkSacramento's SparkPage telling them what you did as far as exercise and nutrition goes.

3. It's cooling down so let's really try to get in at least 1500 minutes this month. I noticed a lot of people struggled with last months goal so let's drop that down a little bit.

In order for this to work we need to all hold each other accountable. Make a commitment in your posts to do a certain amount of exercise or a certain nutrition goal(a daily mini goal). Then be prepared for a scolding if it's not accomplished! Just kidding!

Here's to a fantastically fit September!
