8/31 goal - how did I do in August?

Well, my exercise came in lower than July - I am afraid I knew in my heart I would not make 1800 minutes and didn't try as hard as for the 1500. But I still made 1350 and about 8000 kcal, so that is great!

I didn't lose my six pounds, either, but my 156 is much more solid than it was at the beginning of the month, so I will still shoot for 152 in Sept. Of course I still have a long way to go after that! But let's get that far.

I had a lot of fun doing the goals. I just went out and checked on my star - the 'first one I saw' to meet that goal! It's still there.

Looking forward to Sept. My target is going to be STRENGTH TRAINING. Even just two sets of one muscle group. I guess I had better go do that before I go to bed!

Thank you all, especially Brook for keeping us going. GO TEAM!!!

Ah, well, the sex didn't happen anyway. Date night was a bit spoiled. See the Saturday thread I started for my tale of woe.

I'll definitely spend some time today thinking about goals. I think one will be 1000 minutes of activity. 1800 is way too high for me to aim right now, so I'll start by setting the bar a bit higher than what I've done this month. Cooler September weather would be a great help!

Back in town form Mississippi! Let's go see how I did:
8/25 - Pay someone a compliment.
DONE

8/26 - Take a long, relaxing bath/shower.
This one didn't happen. But I did shower!

8/27 - Take 10 minutes of ME time.
Hmmmm...yes, I guess so! Read a magazine on the plane and got some M&Ms!

8/28 - Tell that someone special in your life just how much you love them.
Now that I'm home I'll do this one today.

8/29 - Do 20 minutes of your favorite form of exercise.
Nope.

8/30 - Think about a couple of goals you would like to accomplish next month.
I'll get right on this one! Strength training every day - at least one small thing - is def on my list.

I'll be swimming tonight, so today's is in the bag!

As far as goals for next month: I want to plan my meals better. So I will know what I am eating a whole week without having to figure it out as I go. Also, I want to focus more on exercise for September. Jaycee has really motivated me to try and workout every day!

August progress: I believe I'm on the right track. I've noticed inches lost already and my clothes fit better. If I amp up the exercise, I should really start to see results soon.

Boy, I haven't made any of this week's goals yet! I think tonight after the kiddo is in bed, I'll tell DH to turn on a game and I'll hit my scrapbook table for an hour. Ooh, that'll give me something good to look forward to today!

Thanks for new goals. I had a pretty bad weekend coming down with a stomach virus and my exercise was spent in bed and walking trips to the bathroom. I will not hit that 1800 minute goal this month but will shoot for the 1500 you had up when I joined last month.

My chiropractor has cleared me for non-impact exercise starting Monday (tomorrow). Whew! I feel like a slug.

I'm still in pain but it's almost back to the "normal" amount that I live with every day.

At least I was able to keep my calories to a minimum.

I walked by the bay today - meeting in Walnut Creek and a light dinner in Berkeley, followed by a walk all around the marina. Now that is something I could get used to!

Breakfast kinda fell through bc I forgot to eat my banana - realized that this morning as it is still here in my office! Or, maybe a vandal broke in and left me a banana in the same place.

But, Lunch - Salad, Dinner - beets and green beans.

Well, almost...I went to bed early but we got woken up by the phone at 5am...daycare provider telling us she spent the night at the ER with her sister, so she's closed today. :-p

I'm saving my banana for my morning snack, does that count? :-)

I accomplished each daily goal! Go me!

Here are this weeks:
8/18 - Try to get a solid 6-8 hours of sleep tonight.
8/19 - Eat a fruit or veggie with each major meal.
8/20 - Try something new in your workout.
8/21 - Make a wish on the first star you see tonight.
8/22 - Turn on a dancing song and dance like a fool.
8/23 - Drink as much water as you can! Let's compete to see who can drink the most!
8-24 - Treat yourself to your favorite meal or dessert. You've earned it!

Good luck teammates! I'm sure you can do it!

Tomatoes will count as fruit today - I checked on Wiki! Little wonderful ones off my plant, and 3 cups of tomato juice. Yum!

Yum, fruit! I ate a nectarine for my afternoon snack, and we had avocado and fried plantains with dinner. It's the first time we've cooked fried plantains at home and OMG, they were so easy and SO good.

I probably won't make Thursday's goal. My Thursdays are pretty wild and crazy, and I'm not sure how to fit seafood in. I had some yesterday, though. Does that count? ;)

I've been slacking on these! My apologies! Here's for the rest of the week!

Tuesday, 8/12: Have 2 servings of fruits.
Wednesday, 8/13: Go for a walk/run, but take a new route or go in a new direction.
Thursday, 8/14: Have seafood at some point in the day.
Friday, 8/15: Treat yourself with a sweet for a week well done.
Saturday, 8/16: Do something the "FIT" way instead of the "FAST" way (i.e., wash dishes by hand, carry in groceries one bag at a time, wash your car by hand, etc.)
Sunday, 8/17: Enjoy a day of rest, but have at least 2 servings of dairy.

I have a difficult time getting enough fiber and calcium. I take a fiber supplement but don't put it into my tracker. Got to figure out how.

A toughie but a goodie. I didn't make it even though I knew about it...but I did keep it in mind! Still I went with salad for dinner - with chicken, but not enough to tip the protein scale.

I did better on the Dippin Dots challenge. emoticon

I'll be out on travel the next few days so the challenges will be kinda like a scavenger hunt - Can I do it??? Time will tell!!

Talk soon!

But, I did get almost 7 hours of sleep last night, and am gunning for 8 tonight!
