My current goal is to get down to 125 by August 31, looks like I'll make it. I'm thinking of revising my ticker at that time.

Vacker, you're fitness minutes are automaticall counted here. You don't have to punch them in twice.

I joined Sparkpeople for the structure and support, and it's provided both. I've been a member of another online group for step mothers since April 2005 and am very active. It's been a sanity and marriage saver! So I know already how much being an active member of a group helps to achieve goals.

Well I just found these and will join in. I am off to let someone know how motivating they are. If you are a member of the team does that mean your fitness points are counted here also or do I need to do something for them to count?

I sure hope I have my pages set up so that my fitness minutes add to the team - I think I do! I was a BEAST this weekend...though not so much by choice!

I got a fountain for my yard - my daughter and I are installing it with some instruction and help from a good friend. I will have to post pictures - not of the fountain yet, but of the trenches, the equipment, the amount of dirt moved by hand, the water (as of today we resorted to hydraulic 'blasting' to get under a sidewalk)....I didn't log all my time but gave myself an hour today and a couple yesterday, though it was more like eight all together! I can barely move. This should count for ST also. :)

As soon as the trenches dry we get to pull wire. Tomorrow? Maybe the next day. Depends on how well I can get a siphon working. THEN I can post pics of the actual fountain.

It's been fun...What a project!

Naomi, I'm just giving you some examples. If you would like to share feel free. I just thought my motivator was a funny one this morning so I wanted to share with you all!

It's completely up to you!

Brook, are we supposed to be posting every day about who we thank for being motivation to us and what we said, or are you just trying to give us some examples?

This morning, I decided to thank my boyfriend for being motivational for me. I set the alarm clock for 6:00am. I hardly ever wake up when the alarm clock goes off and end up hitting snooze until I'm late for work.

He saw what time I set the alarm clock for and told me there was no way I was going to get up that early. He was persistent and I had to prove him wrong. His accidental motivation helped me get out of bed EXACTLY when the alarm clock went off!

Here's my words to him:
"I just wanted to say Thank You for your motivation to get out of bed this morning. I don't know if you were being a jerk or trying to motivate me, but it worked. You got me to call your bluff! So, thank you!"

Suzy, a sticky topic is one that sticks to the top of the board. It's one that you usually should pay attention to. I usually try to put the ones that hold the most information for you regarding that particular forum or in this case one that gives you what's going on this month.

Thank you for the motivators! July will be a good month. 50 min cardio, done.

Question: What is a 'Sticky Topic'?

These sound great Brook!! My biggest problem has always been keeping myself motivated enough to keep going longer than a week or two!! GREAT ideas!

Well, here we are! It's July!

As I've stated a couple of times July is going to be our Motivation Month. I've chosen only 3 goals for you guys, two of which focus on motivation.

Of course, you all know that you need to have 8 glasses of water a day. You know you need to have 4 - 5 servings of fruits and veggies a day. You know you need to exercise at least a little bit every day.

But...

Why?

Why are you doing this? What keeps you going every day, week, month? That's my focus this month.

First challenge/goal:
Express to one person every day how they motivate or inspire you.
- Ideally we would want this to be a different person everyday.
- Give this person a SP Goodie, SP Mail, SP Comment, email, or even call them.
- Objective: Telling someone how much they inspire and motivate you will keep in mind WHY you're doing this and WHAT keeps you going.

Second challenge/goal:
Share one reason per day why you joined SparkPeople and/or why you would like to be healthier?
- There will be a thread on the board for you to express one reason why you're here.
- Is it that dress? Or that bathing suit? Or the ability to play with your kids? Or your health? What keeps you tracking, exercising, and working toward your goal weight?
- Objective: Everyday when you post your goal you're going to remember why you're here.

Third challenge/goal:
Complete 1500 minutes of cardio.
- Jaycee, I know you like your thread, but I will not be posting or following my progress on one, but feel free to put up your own thread. I forget about it so it's not really helpful for me like it is for you and Yanna.
- This one is a normal run of the mill goal.
- Objective: Get your exercise! You can't accomplish anything without moving at least a little bit!

I hope you guys have fun with this months goals and I really hope they help to keep you motivated to reach your goals!
