I have a 18 qt roaster that that has variable temperature control and can be use to "slow cook" on the low setting. It can hold a large 7 to 10 kg bird quite easily. I don't think I have ever heard of a 44 KG bird. That is one monster bird......

Thanks for the tip of using foil instead of my rack. I will try that next time I cook one.
