Jim,

I'm so sorry that you're having such difficulty with your rash, etc. Sometimes when the doctors are stumped, that's when we need to seek an answer from God! I know this from personal experience. When the doctors didn't understand what was going on I went before God, and He ended up educating the doctors, through me! What a way, to enlighten the doctors! It's a WIN, WIN situation!!! Continue to get better, and please, please, DON'T SCRATCH!!!

Be blessed,

- Nancy Jean -

thanks for concern, that is why doctors are stumped. no changes in diet, soaps, lotions, etc. I guess they don't know where to go with it, no oranges, fresh tomatoes or pineapple, in fact having cooking more and not going out much.. just don't know, but seems to be getting somewhat better today since topical prescribed and injection yesterday

I hope that the cause of the rash is found pretty soon. I know from multiple experiences how uncomfortable and at times, painful, this can be.

Take a look at what you are eating. Tomatoes? Oranges? Pineapple? Kiwifruit? ... to name a few.

Are you using different moisturizers/soaps/laundry detergent?

Are you on any different medications?

Kris

now my back surgery has been postponed from 12/3 to 12/12 because of all over rash, which doctors can not figure out source. got cortisone injection in hip yesterday.. given very strong topical cream for effected areas so now am waiting to see what comes from this. I was even waking myself up in night scratching- took sisters suggestion and put socks on hands overnight, at least not scratching, just rubbed ... got best sleep I have had for week. yes things do work out, we just have to wait, and pray, sometimes I am not patient ... that goes for weight loss as well as other things in life ...well that is update..., still hanging on ..day by day. positive thoughts ...asthma is not acting up, acid reflux under control at this point ...always some positive to draw from ...just have to look sometimes

No it doesn't sound self centered.if we don't take charge of our own health, nobody else will. Good luck with getting your answers, and starting to feel better. You are not alone.

sounds like you are getting good advice, also nice to know I am not alone in what i face. hopefully that doesn't sound self centered, as i think we all are trying to take charge of what goes on in our own bodies

I agree with Nancy Jean. I have acid reflux very bad. I' vie been diagnosed with Barrett's
Syndrome which is pre cancerous stomach cancer. I have to be very careful with everything I
Eat. I also have COPD and am on oxygen 24/7. I have learned to tell the difference in what's
Causing the chest pain. But you are doing the right thing by having it all checked out. The
Best of luck with your health, and joining spark people, this will help you make good choices

It will get easier best of luck

I must agree with Kris. I have GERD/Asthma/Allergies, and I can tell the difference between the three different pains and how my body is reacting and what's going on. It took years for me to understand what is going on, but now that I do, I sometimes scoff, as to why I hadn't learned this earlier.

Another thing I have is I'm on oxygen 24/7 because I was diagnosed with bronchial asthma, when I was 40, which started the O2 and then as a result of being in the hospital, for 6 months, I ended up with chemically induced COPD, which is no picnic. I really have to be careful, as my breathing is already compromised, and now this COPD, makes it even harder.

Get everything checked that you can get checked, and make sure you can get a copy and enter it in your computer. Since I've entered my records into my computer, I can bring them up in an instant, what other doctors, need NOW!!!

Be blessed,

Yes - my hand is up, too!

You are being checked out so that is good.

Something else for you to consider, and I would be inclined to talk with your Dr about this:
Ask for a referral to a Respiratory Physiotherapist. A lot of people's breathing techniques are poor, and can cause exactly this sort of problem, along with numb/tingly fingers, and around the mouth; shortness of Breath; feeling faint; and anxiety. There are other issues it can cause, too.

As far as food is concerned, make sure that if you eat things like oranges, pineapples, apples (unless stewed) kiwifruit etc., that you only have them occasionally and in small amounts.

Limit tea/coffee

Eat smaller more frequent meals

Sleep with your bed head slightly elevated. This can easily be done by putting even-height books or blocks of wood under the legs at the head of your bed.

Don't bend over until a while after eating. I used to lean over to read the newspaper on the floor ...... BIG mistake :-(

Don't go to bed on a full stomach.

As far as Asthma is concerned, Asthma/GERD/Allergies is a very common combination.

Good luck with your investigations.
Kris

I do experience this sort of discomfort occasionally but I also have asthma, don't know if that is even similar, but I do have both

I have been recently diagnosed with "suspected" gerd and am taking a PPI. It all started with severe pain in the entire bra area which I went to the ER for and they ruled out any problem with the heart.
I still get this "discomfort" every once in awhile although never as painful but am trying to understand it. I also had eccho/sonograms on my liver, ducts and heart to rule out other causes.
Does anyone else get this chest pain/discomfort?
